OK, it Might Be Time to Start Paying Attention to this Anthony Morrow Fella

After two consecutive big nights for the Warriors, even Don Nelson is convinced that Morrow is “the real deal”. We’ll see how long this lasts …

Wild guesstimation: 80% of NBA players have never scored 37 points in an NBA game. So, he got at least that going for him.

I got chirped for dropping Al Thornton for him after his first big game. Now not so much.

I guess should actually see this kid play.

He got zero touches in the 4th last night though, which was strange.

  • mat smith Posted: Nov.19 at 10:25 am
its very rare for this to happen, good luck to the kid, gonna check him out on LP

The funny thing is that he actual kind of reminds you of a younger Stephen Jackson. Maybe the Warriors spent all that money they saved by not resigning B-Diddy on a cloning machine.

He is the 2nd coming of Flip Murray !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Z Posted: Nov.19 at 10:40 am
I’m not gonna lie, I’ve never seen this dude play. Let’s be cautious though, there are plenty of marginal NBA players that could drop 30+ in two consecutive games.

  • Z Posted: Nov.19 at 10:42 am
63 from the field 65 from deep and 100 at the line. I know that’s going to come down but wow.

  • maio Posted: Nov.19 at 11:02 am
He might become the next “marginal player” to drop 50 following in the footsteps of Tony Delk and Willie Burton. And Dana Barros.
    Surely JJRedick ain’t doing it.

just like Brendan Wright was the “real deal”? Sigh…. Don Nelson, use yo few big men you have!

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Nov.19 at 11:12 am
    yo=the in my previous comment….

wouldn’t it be nice if Morrow played with no. 2?
    I’m a hoot at parties…

  • aposton5 Posted: Nov.19 at 11:14 am
He is a good kid and works hard. It seems that he is finally coming into his own it the Bay Area.

  • aposton5 Posted: Nov.19 at 11:16 am
He grew up in the Charlotte, NC area and went to georgia Tech. Like most college players that have a lot of talent the system hides it. He is now able to do what is required of him within a more loosely based offensive system.

picked him up in the fantasy league immediately, i’ve got a feeling he’ll be good for 16-17 pts the rest of the season, at least. He’s got a really nice jumper, quick release…and this guy has been making all these shots NOTHIN BUT NET. Playing in Nellie’s system i don’t see him struggling since he pretty much has a green light.

  • B. Long Posted: Nov.19 at 12:13 pm
Nice pickup, RV. I was jumping on and checking for him last night.

  • RV Posted: Nov.19 at 12:31 pm
I pretty much sacrificed my week by adding him and Monta since the two players i dropped have games today and the other 2 dont…hopefully it pays off

  • TADOne Posted: Nov.19 at 1:06 pm
Can you imagine the comp he was killing at the local Y until someone signed him?

  • NBK Posted: Nov.19 at 1:14 pm
Darkhorse for ROY, if the Warriors start actually looking for him, look out Derek Rose
@Gerard-Brandan Wright never had a game like Morrow’s last two

  • what Posted: Nov.19 at 2:00 pm
He’ll be great in fantasy, until Monta Ellis gets back and he gets glued to the bench again…

  • JP Posted: Nov.19 at 2:34 pm
He shot the lights out in summer league as well. Watched him last night… handles were questionable, but his decision making was quite impressive for a rook. Smooth stroke, with a quick release… mediocre on defense… If they were to run the squad they had last night Ellis would take watsons minutes… Ellis, Morrow, Jackson, Maggs, Biedrens – good inside outside balance with ellis and maggs drive and dish… never thought of maggs playing 4 – but he owned LA last night

    Anthony Who?

  • ciolkstar Posted: Nov.19 at 3:09 pm
Yeah, if he played for someone other than Nelly I would’ve gambled and dropped Sessions for him. But i waited and now someone else in my league snagged him.

hes just playing off of the turiaf hype right now. he’ll cool down in a couple of games. but if he doesnt i’ll be the first one to say i was wrong.

ive watched this guy for 4 games, and his shot is money. such a smooth stroke. i wanna say he’s just on a hot streak and that he’ll cool down, but he’s been hittin. reminds me of that feb stretch where monta’s fg% was close to 60%

Kind of reminds me of that time Tony Delk went for 53 in one game…and averaged what…11 points for the season…? Yeah…The thing you need to remember generally is that for guys to GET INTO THE NBA…they are usually coming from a background of dominating basketball at some level, be it high school, over seers or US college system …the hoops the same height every where you go and the ball is the same shape…so your going to get your moments to play well eventually and show indicators of the high skill level at some point.

cosign joe, thats what i was thinkin all game last night, he’s flip murray 3000

  • nbk Posted: Nov.20 at 2:11 am
maybe you should watch the kid play he isn’t tony delk. Looks like a younger Stephen Jackson. GS got lucky

  • Patrick Posted: Nov.20 at 2:38 am
actually Holly mentioned his ‘beautiful jumper’ a few days ago when he went for 8 points and I was thinking wtf, who the @#$% is that – but now he’s sitting pretty on my fantasy team… nice scoop Mackenzie!
