Baron Davis: Back to Oakland?

by Marcel Mutoni

Stephen Jackson sure does know how to create news. It was just last week that a report surfaced claiming that he wanted out of Golden State (which he later denied, of course), and now he’s talking about his former teammate, Baron Davis, possibly making a return to the Warriors.

Wait, what?!

Here it is, straight from the horse’s mouth – courtesy of Inside the Warriors:

“That’s all we talked about,” Jackson said. “I went to his house, spent some time with his mom and his grandmother. He wants to come back. And if he wants to come back, I want him back.”

“I think that would be great for us,” Jackson said. “Coach loves him. Him and (guard) Monta (Ellis) have good chemistry. If they could work that out, that would be great for the organization.”

If the Warrior front-office (fractured as it is) wanted B-Diddy back, they’d likely have to get rid of both Corey Maggette and newly-acquired Jamal Crawford.

In all likelihood, this is probably just Stephen Jackson talking (and dreaming), after all, the Warriors have been terrible this season and sure could use a change of pace. But it’s definitely something interesting to ponder, for both the Warrior and Clipper franchises and their fanbases.

I don’t think so . . . first he wanted L.A., now he wants GS again? Jax shouldn’t have mentioned all of this.

I’m positive that’s the dumbest thing I will hear all day, and it’s not even 9:30 AM.

you know I actually envisioned something similar when the warrior were headed to LA yesterday I actually tought that he would envite the whole warriors over to his house I tought he would have a huge bachelor pad. So his momma is rating with him? Well we terribly miss baron because when Stephen didn’t have it baron did and vice versa and monta you could always count on him.

The Clippers and Warriors should just merge franchises. They might be able to field a playoff team…

I think Clippers is a better team when Randolph is healthy. Better team than Warriors, that is…

Coach loves him sooooo much, he makes him sit the second half of a game that might have determined our playoff fates last season. This is getting ridiculous. someone get that mic outta Whooo’s!!! face.

Um, one: The Clippers aren’t trading Baron Davis this early in his contract. Two: The Clippers DO NOT want Corey Maggette back.

This Trade probably won’t happen but Baron 4 Maggette and Biedrins could work

  • ClydeSays

Sorry Baron. You made your choice. You wanted the money and to play back home and EB. Well, you got 2 out of 3. If it makes you feel any better, Elton made a lousy choice too…

  • Jacob

I hope this ends up happening, Baron isnt very good with LA

Yes, the Clippers would do anything to have Kaman, Z-Bo, Camby AND Biedrins. And I bet they’d love Maggette back too.
The organization would think its great if Jackson would just shut up. And quit shooting 28% from three.

What ever happened to Anthony Morrow?

I would like him back in Oakland. The Warriors are boring now. Yeah they still score alot but not even close to what they were. Baron Davis and Ellis produced 40 pts between them both.

But David should have though about that before he left.

How much is B-Diddy getting paid? Something to the tune of $65-million. Good luck getting traded with such an abominable contract. And this guy’s game is going down the tubes. A move to Golden State might invigorate him for a couple years, but towards the end of that contract a mid-30s Davis will be more beaten up than Brett Favre. Enjoy Coach Dunleavy until he gets canned.

Trade baron for jose el matador calderon, at least baron will attempt to guard his man.

  • MalevolentKing7242

A trade for davis for magette and carwford would work for both teams but no. Davis is not going the clipps chemistry is alredy struggling and the gstate season is over

Neither team has any chance of contending regardless of whether they make this trade, so why not?

  • nabeil

baron has already denied it..yeah whatever he is supposed to say that..but he does want to come back ive been telling people this for like 3 months..barons assistant was my boy in high school and he tells me all the time he would welcome a trade back to oakland…and dont tell me the warriors wont do this..they know they made a mistake…only way it happens if the owner overrules the president because he is the one who blew it..i say it happens..baron for maggette and marcus williams…you will see.
