Dwight Howard’s Agent on Dunk Crown Defense

Hmm, who to believe?: “He’s going to be in it,” Aaron Goodwin said. “He’s got a few things he can bring out [new dunks]. There’s what we’re calling ‘The Orlando Two-Step.’”

Will he be throwing the ball in from three feet away again? The dunk contest is so wack it’s not even funny anymore.

[...] – I know we’ve said we don’t care about All-Star weekend, but Dwight Howard should not defend his title.  There’s nothing left to prove.  He’s thinking about it, though. [...]

russ, his other dunks were great i dont know why people keep focusing on the superman dunk.

  • riggs Posted: Dec.10 at 12:35 pm
    oops forgot to put “dunk”

  • Holy Baller Posted: Dec.10 at 1:08 pm
I agree with Russ. He did have some very good dunks, but the Superman dunk that everyone was raving about was weak. Probably because it wasn’t even a dunk

    gerald green!!!

  • underdog Posted: Dec.10 at 1:32 pm
Lil Nate should jump over Steph.

  • Marcnificent Posted: Dec.10 at 2:17 pm
No matter what anyone says about the dunk contest, All-Star weekend wouldnt be the same without it, we all know we look foward to it wether u admit it or not…Obviously the stars look foward to it as well, they line up in droves along the baseline to check it out every year.

The Superman dunk was amazing, life changing, and seemingly, unreal. That is, until they showed the replay and I realized that he didn’t actually dunk the ball, thus, proving the dunk to be, indeed, unreal.

can NBA just allow the raised rims already? actually eff that. have a lowereed rim and make barkley and mahorn duke it out.

  • kev Posted: Dec.10 at 3:24 pm
    please no nate!

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Dec.10 at 3:37 pm
Props and costume changes are stupid. They should have shut down the dunk contest forever after 2000.

  • Mr. 416 Posted: Dec.10 at 3:41 pm
Who was it who knocked Gerald Green’s kicks off the table after he signed them ?

  • Moose Posted: Dec.10 at 5:54 pm
I say he teams up with Jameer Nelson to do the pairs dunk. And dunk HIM. Now THAT is entertainment.

  • tealish Posted: Dec.10 at 7:37 pm
Cosign on the horribleness that is props and costumes. It makes it into the bad kind of spectacle. Cupcakes, candles, ladders, mini plastic hoops? Way WAY too much. Why can’t the show be in the dunk itself? VC’s performance in 2000 would’ve been an awesome closing to the Dunk Contest. Instead, it gave the event new life and hope that wouldn’t last after him.
So, who’s breaking out the trampoline and full on mascot suit this year?

  • The Last Kings Fan Posted: Dec.11 at 12:10 am
Isn’t the dunk contest only eligible for players inside of their first three years or something in the league? Is he even eligible this year?

  • davidR Posted: Dec.11 at 12:39 am
cmon, jrich did a great job carrying the dunk champ title. that off the backboard east bay funk was insane.

  • jay Posted: Dec.11 at 3:16 am
jrich and desmond mason did hold it down for 3 years

  • Prentice Mcgruder Posted: Dec.11 at 6:44 am
Russ quit moaning. What do you suggest another exhilirating event like 2ball? or increased coverage of the Shooting Stars competition. THOSE are the weak links. Some dudes just aint happy unless their moaning..

  • matt the jazz fan Posted: Dec.11 at 9:26 am
get kobe, lebron and the rest of the superduperstars to participate.
just get it done. co-sign about allowing the raising of the rim, btw.
