Video: Von Wafer’s Vicious Swat

Mo Evans is lucky Wafer didn’t break his wrist.

No doubt Wafer’s stepped up his defense from when this happened. The way he’s playing recently, Luther Head better watch his back.

    I wanted to see that block again… I was watching it on the Hawks broadcast (SportSouth), and they obviously didn’t show it on replay. Wow… maybe one of best blocks I’ve ever seen by a non-Center.

    Ahhh, thanks Myung. i missed the revival it seems (although i do remember seeing Ron Pitbull last season), just started noticing Wade, Amar’e and so forth sporting the look this season.

    I actually think Von’s was close to a real Mr. T like mohawk from what I could tell… I think Ocho Cinco also had a real one. The guys you mention (and also some Hawks like Josh Smith and Mario West in the Playoffs) have what seems to be called…a Faux Hawk?

    The kid can play. Let’s just put it that way. Von Wafer is a pleasant surprise this season and he is going to only get better. He can shoot the J, penetrate the defense, and slam it with authority. Don’t sleep on him.

    Bill Worell and Clyde Drexler (the commentary crew for the Rox) cannot for the life of them say the correct name when both Rafer and Wafer are on the court. If there’s ever a Wafer/Rafer fast break, i think drexler’s head might explode.
