Boston Wants to Send Four to Phoenix

Doc Rivers, though, is trying to remain realistic: “There have been four All-Stars from one team on seven occasions, the last by the Pistons in 2006. The Celtics had four in 1953, 1962, and 1975, but in each case, the fourth player was an injury replacement. ‘I’m hoping I get three,’ Rivers said. ‘But you never know in our league. If we don’t get three, then that will be a shame. And I think we should get four. But if we don’t get three, then I will be shocked.’”

    How could he not be?

So, do Cleveland and Orlando and L.A. each deserve four, too? Because if so, that wraps it up for the East.

Man, I hate the “we deserve four all stars” attitude the C’s have. I’d love for Rondo to make it, but ONLY at the expence of another Celtic (preferably Ray Allen)

Surely, Patrick O’Bryant needs some consideration.

Seriously, the way the voting went it’s a surprise someone like Scalabrine didn’t get write-in votes or something. I shudder to think if he actually made the ballot

I’m sure Bill Walker’s game would be more exciting than PP’s.

Wait, is Doc talking about Rondo or himself as the 4th Celtic?

  • ENDS

ya’ll already know how i feel

The Bulls only had two all-stars from their 72 win season. I think they were 41-3 at all-star break.

  • Kevin

They only got 3 last year cause Ray made it cause of injury and they had the best record and were above everybody, they dont even have the best record this year and they expect to get 4? SMH

  • Pigott17

    eddie in 3point comp
    scalabrine in slam dunk contest

Rodman should have been an allstar with the Bulls every year….just the coaches wouldnt pick him based on pride and not enough fans would have chose him over the east forwards thru that time.

One more smack to the head and scalabrine might be done for his career. stay safe young man.

  • kg

then you have 4 in phoenix

  • BostonBaller

What coach when asked a question about his team isn’t going to be a bit biased? It’s not that far fetched for Doc wanting 4 of his guys in the ASG.

as far as ANYONE being pissed that Ray made it last year must have boycotted the game and didn’t WITNESS his game. They gave the MVP to James in a runaway but it was close. Ray put on a clinic just like he had been doing up to the ASG and as he is doing now. (NOT just jumpers either) As far as “So, do Cleveland and Orlando and L.A. each deserve four, too?” No they don’t. Name 4 guys on any of those teams that you would actually give up something to get. (You might name 2 on each) I believe Kobe, Bron & Howard would love to ball with either of the 4 guys Doc wants in the game. I don’t think any team should have 4 guys in the ASG during ANY year but let’s not burn anyone at the stakes. lol.
