Corey Maggette Embracing Sixth Man Role

Who ever said this guy was selfish? /Raises hand/: “Some people have got to make sacrifices,” said Maggette, who is averaging 22.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30 minutes as a reserve. “I can still score and do whatever I do coming off the bench. It’s not a big deal. We can ease the pain of people arguing and somebody’s got to be the big man and that’s fine.”

Translation: “I’ve got a much better excuse to keep ballhogging it when I’m out there with the second unit; plus, this has given me more time to count my 50 million.”

Too bad he was a starter 19 times out of 26. But it’s a long season. Watch your back Jason Terry.

30 minutes a night isnt really a ‘reserve role’…lets be realistic. Sure he’s name isnt called out with the starting line-up but looking at his court time… this makes a ’6th’ man role basically become a 6th starter…
