Is it Time for Vince to Go?

“They have to like what Vince brings in terms of leadership and scoring,” said one NBA general manager. “But you know, they have to think about moving him, if they can get a couple of young pieces — or one kid with great potential like they got in the (Richard) Jefferson deal. You have to think about it, if it helps you long-term.”

He’s playing his best ball in 5 years. I’d keep him.

    i’d keep him.

    Soooooo….JO for VC? Why not.

And because he’s playing the best ball in 5, it would certainly be a good time to “Sell High”

  • ENDS

Sell like Woody Paige. You thinks he’s gonna do this next year, or After the All-Star Game. He scores and entertains at the Break then drops off. VC in the OKC or Clipper land

vince carter needs to be in the west with don nelson somehow

  • Chris

Doc’s right, they got him basically for a pack of smarties and a breath mint, might as well make a mint from him.

business standpoint VC’s got real value bigtime..so if the push through with rebuilding than might be viable.

Harris and VC might be the best backcourt in the league right now, but at the same time, I can see where the “sell high” people are coming from.

  • Bostwik

    get rid of him

What? The Nets got a better backup that we didn’t know?

Go where? Who’s trading for Vince Carter? Ain’t nobody wasting potential ’10 capspace on VC.

Cleveland might be in the market…

    Someone somewhere….
Does Vince want out..? It’s probably the first time in his life he has felt settled…mind you, perhaps we could get him to Arizona somehow…

“Sell him high” seems logical, but i like the harris-carter combo =p

  • Julius

What do you like about the Harris-VC combo?

I know its only one game, but I was at the Celtics-Nets game on Saturday, and it was pathetic. The Nets aren’t any good; they flat out stink.

Russ Bengtson has a good point. Who would mess themselves up by taking him on? What can you get for him? His value is sky-high, yes, but talk about a horrible time to peak!

Lang, Cleveland can’t trade for VC, because they have nothing the Nets want. I know everybody hopes the Nets would trade VC for Wally’s expiring contract, but you know better than that. So what are you thinking about, Lang?

    Vince Carter is a tool

Ducklover: thank you for your insightful comment. ESPN is e-mailing you right now to write a blog on their site if Scoop Jackson one won’t be writing for them anymore. Good luck!
