McGrady Bad-Mouthing Yao?

Well, this is fun: “This is the fifth season Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming have played together in Houston, so you’d think by now that everyone would be comfortable with their roles. Apparently not. McGrady has been privately complaining to friends in recent days about Yao taking too many shots and not being tough enough. Like McGrady has never been accused of either.”

I laugh everyday when I hear a T-mac Story and begin to think he wanted us to draft Emeka before Dwight if not he would demand a trade…

  • Rubens Posted: Jan.12 at 11:31 am
it’s not like t-mac is wrong… in the position he’s in, he can’t talk, but dude’s right

  • riggs Posted: Jan.12 at 11:38 am
but that’s not how yao plays to his full potential, you cant ask a guy that plays like dirk to bang like Dwight, he’d embarrass himself

  • Mendel Posted: Jan.12 at 11:40 am
T-Mac has be come funnier than shaq. That duse career is over

  • B. Long Posted: Jan.12 at 11:41 am
That’s the pot calling the kettle racist.

  • mike Posted: Jan.12 at 12:12 pm
Please turn into a Shaq/Kobe situation, please.

  • RV Posted: Jan.12 at 12:48 pm
This was actually a weak source, there’s been more controversial things reported in the local paper in the last month. If it is true, it’s about last month, when Yao was taking close to 20 shots a game, and that month he put up games of 24 and 19, 24/16/4, 33 and 14, 26/11/4…and Yao gets no love from the refs, he’s the rime example of refs not knowing how to ref big men, just like JVG use to say, some games he gets 10+ FT, and others 2, yet he plays the same…

  • RV Posted: Jan.12 at 12:50 pm
ohh yeaaaah, and Tmac is out for TWO WEEKS, just reported today….it’s tough to get shots when you’re sitting on the bench..

  • Allenp Posted: Jan.12 at 1:27 pm
Can we really believe Mitch Lawrence?
    That’s all.

  • DEEZ NUTZ Posted: Jan.12 at 1:38 pm
THIS IS WHY I CAN’T WAIT TO THURST KICK T-CUP MCGRADY OUT OF HOUSTON! IT’S LIKE THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK. BOTH ARE SOFT AS PUSSIE! I KNOW I HOUSTON IS MY TEAM

  • rav Posted: Jan.12 at 2:01 pm
    t-mac = little girl

  • Anton Posted: Jan.12 at 2:02 pm
Watch it baby, Yao’s got some serious backup. Millions.

  • Ovi Posted: Jan.12 at 2:36 pm
Yeah, Yao can be soft, but sometimes he does his thing. T-Cub is just a cry baby and lazy, so he hardsly get to play. T-cup sucs.

  • balls danglin Posted: Jan.12 at 2:37 pm
Hakeem is gonna kick your ass! tracy a girl man’s name your mom was right to name you tracy

  • what Posted: Jan.12 at 2:40 pm
This is like Yao complaining that T-Mac is too tall.

  • Chris Posted: Jan.12 at 3:46 pm
ENDS: Emeka wouldn’t have been a bad choice, and would have been a much better fit for TMac had he actually stayed in Orlando.

  • ENDS Posted: Jan.12 at 4:12 pm
Emeka got imjured the next season. No one in orlando would have forgiven the GM for Keeping Gimmpy Hill and an injured Okafor while D12 donned the Super Cape in Charlott. Try to justify it but you cant. And so what if he would have stayed what are we talking about him right now, chris?

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Jan.12 at 4:20 pm
    Who?

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Jan.12 at 4:21 pm
    That was for Russ.

  • John Posted: Jan.12 at 5:52 pm
Yao averaged 17 shots a game 2 seasons ago, 15 last season, 13 this season… Maybe Tracy can’t count?

  • Sesa Posted: Jan.12 at 6:55 pm
It’s not a long time ago that T-Mac and Kobe were the two elite guards.
But it seemed like it is.

  • mark Posted: Jan.12 at 7:12 pm
where you get this info? sounds like the usual t-mac hating, garbage “journalism”

  • robbie Posted: Jan.12 at 7:41 pm
    THIS STORY IS FALSE!

  • BETCATS Posted: Jan.12 at 8:34 pm
mike: They need to win rings before they can have beef. This isnt shaq and kobe, its a anti-Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley.

  • BigBen Posted: Jan.12 at 9:08 pm
Tracy had a scope in may and he’s still hurting ! His ex coach was right, his work ethic sucks. this is his first and only job he’s ever had. He’s making 20 million for this crap ! Get him outta here. He wont be a rocket next year

  • Darksaber Posted: Jan.13 at 12:55 am
Two Pot/kettle references on this here story… love it. Oh and i totally agree with the detractors. Tracy? Shut it and play (or rehab, whatever is necessary)

  • Flash Posted: Jan.13 at 4:21 am
yao is doing his best to win games while you and ron ron are always in street clothes, and you’re complaining about touches! tsk tsk.. what a team mate.. you breakin your back becoz you gettin fat fool! your thin ass limbs cant carry them anymore! get your act ryt man!

  • Kevin Posted: Jan.13 at 4:38 am
i don’t know how true this story is, but if i could figure out a way to get Yao 25 shots a game, even if only 15-20 of which were relatively good looks, i’d get him those 25 shot attempts or 30-40 touches everrrrry night. only problem with that is, Yao gets tired pretty easily being 7′6 and 300+ and i don’t know if he could deal with that kind of defensive focus over 82 games + the postseason..

  • donlaker Posted: Jan.13 at 1:20 pm
memo to T back lakers fed kareem many times per game (championship) kenny the jett fed hakeem the ball many times per game (championship)
kobe fed shaq many times per game (championship)
and tony parker fed duncan a few times (championship) my point is feed yao the ball 20 times in a game and you might get out of the first round.. t back think of your role as magic johnson and throw to yao so you can (hobble)to the rim and score easy because your back is hurting and your knees might give out before the all star game.

  • Anish Posted: Jan.13 at 6:54 pm
If this is true, T-Mac is a joke. As a Rockets fan, I’ve seen the T-Mac support in Houston consistently decline every season. The funny thing is, its not because he’s not winning, its because of his non-chalant attitude, and his lack of passion. You see a guy like Ron come in here, and even if he’s struggling at times, he’s busting his a** every night, and playing through petty injuries. Yao is still not completely healthy, but he’s still shooting 53% and still getting his 20-10 with less shots than he’s had in a while. T-Mac, in the games he’s actually suited up for, he’s shooting 38% with the same amount of shots per game. If anything, Yao should shoot more. How are you going to bad-mouth your teammate of 5 years? Especially not face to face, but behind his back. I knew you were a wuss on the court, but off too? Good job, Knee-Back.

  • Will Lee Posted: Jan.14 at 1:05 am
trade Tmac. Houston needs to make up their mind like Detroit. They are not going anywhere even when Tmac is healthy. They should shake things up, try to build a Hakeem team. Its a gamble but what else can you do? Rockets can’t even beat Lakers, Hornets or Nuggets, and just 50 50 chance against Jazz and Blazers. They need a clyde drexler that knows how to win games

  • [...] this week, I posted a small item about Tracy McGrady supposedly bad-mouthing teammate Yao Ming behind his back. And now, according to David Aldridge, the two are no longer on [...]
