Marbury Willing to Give the Knicks a Millie for Freedom

As always, it’s complicated: “I’m hoping,” Marbury said. “I don’t know what the real reason would be if they didn’t take it. I can’t fight a billion-dollar company. I’ve been waiting nearly a week.”

I’m a Knicks fan and even I think this is ridiculous! We don’t want the guy, but won’t release him or play him. Oh yeah we are still paying him though. WORD OF ADVICE to the Knicks front office. . . FREE MARBURY and MOVE ON!!!!!!!!!!!

If it’s true that the Knicks only wanted to take three million off his contract then Marbury is an even bigger idiot than I thought.

if your a big market why don’t u just give d money

    what is 21 M minus taxes..if u wanna get rid of a..

  • rav

so what if they dont release him or play him – they are within their rights to trade him, as everyone seems to forget this

@rav. No one wants him for 20 mill….but if he can get out of NYK WITH his own money, they only need to sign him to the veteran minimum. TRADING him doesn’t work because who’s got a 20 million dollar player they want to get rid of….*ahem JO*…

And again Marbury shows how media UN-savvy he is. Trying to play the victim here? “Woe is me, i’m willing to take a paycut to be released, it’s not my fault the great corporation won’t relent”. Stephon, truly, sit down. THERE IS A MASSIVE ECONOMIC SLOWDOWN, A RECESSION EVEN, IN PROGRESS. PEOPLE ARE LOSING LIVELYHOODS AND YOU DARE PORTRAY THE VICTIM IN PUBLIC BECAUSE OF YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP 1 FREAKING MILLION DOLLARS??!!! AND YOU MAKE what, 18-19 MILL instead? For NOT doing your profession so far this season? And the gall of it all is his worry that he might not make the trade deadline in early March, thus making him ineligible for a team bound for the playoffs!! Oh really? Sulk and moan, then hope to join a team in time to make a run at the championship? Does this guy even know what happens when his lips start flapping? What an idiot, truly pathetic. Go crawl under a rock, fool.

dacre – i know that he’s virtually untradeable (IMO there is still a small possibility someone may trade for him and cut him in a salary dump) but whilst there is still the possibility of trading him i dont see what is so bad about keeping him unless he’s prepared to accept a buyout for basically nothing of the remaining amount of his contract

  • $tev3

yall do know hes a free agnet @ the end of the season right
