Michael Redd Out For The Season

by Lang Whitaker

The Bucks announced today that Michael Redd will miss the remainder of the season after tearing both his ACL and MCL last night against the Sacramento Kings.

“I’m deeply disappointed but everything in life happens for a reason and this is God’s plan for me. I have faith in my teammates and coaches to continue to work together to make our fans proud.  I will be supporting them wholeheartedly from the sidelines and working equally hard to return to the court in the best condition possible for next season.

“A special thank you to all our fans for their great support this season – my 9th as a Milwaukee Buck.  Our team still has work to do and I know with our collective support we can cheer them on to a special season.”

A special season, perhaps, but with much less promise than the season had when Michael Redd was healthy.

does this honestly surprise you? as good as michael redd is, he does get hurt way too much

  • Z Posted: Jan.25 at 7:27 pm
I find it incredibly disrespectful for some whose faith is as deep as Redd to think that God has time to think about his ACL. I find it pretty dumb for athletes to thank God about anything that happens on a field or a court.

ACL & MCL? Damn that sucks, was hoping that he’d be an all-star this year and make the playoffs. Get better man.

  • Sesa Posted: Jan.25 at 8:09 pm
    @Z.
Redd is thinking that God built this world for him so that when the event of Redd’s tearing ACL and MCL is just a trigger to another big event in this world.

  • Hursty Posted: Jan.25 at 9:15 pm
Well that sucks. Hopefully he comes back ok again.
His last major injury was 07 right? Missed like half the season…no I didn’t click the link.

  • davidR Posted: Jan.25 at 11:26 pm
Z and sesa are trippn. redd was talking about his individual path, one that has nothing to do with anyone else

  • what Posted: Jan.25 at 11:43 pm
I wonder how good Milwaukee would be if they could stay healthy for a whole season.

  • Josh D Posted: Jan.26 at 1:46 am
Without Redd, the Bucks don’t have a chance of making the playoffs, didn’t loads of teams want Redd a couple of days ago?
Maybe Millwuakee should make a trade if they want to suceed this season

Hi, I’m not a native speaker so I don’t know what ACL and MCL means… Could someone help me out? Sucks for Mike and the Bucks… They were playing a lot better than expected. Get well soon!

Yup, Bucks are screwed. When your superstars are Andrew Bogut, Richard Jefferson, and Charlie “No Eyebrows” Villenueva, you know you’re sunk

  • davidR Posted: Jan.26 at 6:40 pm
sesa, no worries. it’s hard to detect sarcasm from someone i don’t see comment that much

  • SAM Posted: Jan.26 at 7:22 pm
I WOULD APPRECIATE OUT OF RESPECT OF THOSE WHO BELEIVE IN GOD THAT YOU GUYS WOULD NOT CURSE GOD OR REPRIMAND MICHAEL FOR SAYING IT WAS GOD’S PLAN FOR HIM, THANK YOU

  • Dacre Posted: Jan.27 at 1:24 am
I would appreciate that by having a little look into the bible that it says quite clearly that God does not cause bad things to happen to people by way of being a lesson or for a greater purpose. You play any sport with full grown men at the most superior athletic level someone somewhere is going to get hurt.
    God didn’t do this.

Howard, of the Journal Sentinel: He may not know it now, but that something different will be the way he plays the game of basketball – which forever will be changed; just ask Ron Harper – along with the fast-fading prospect that the Bucks will remain in the city of Milwaukee and the Bradley Center, an NBA arena that has long been past its prime.Related StoriesMichael Redd Out For The Season [...]
