Report: Portland Wants David Lee; Camby Back to NY?

Says here that the Blazers are in hot pursuit of the Knick forward: “Blazers ownership thinks Lee is the perfect 6th man who will be 26 in April and can be part of their long term plans. As we know Lee has leverage because he doesn’t have to sign with a team he is traded to, but playing in Portland with their young core would be very attractive.”

The Knicks are also reportedly interested in bringing back the Camby Man.

If the Knicks have half a brain they would keep David Lee.

Doesn’t Portland already have a sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth man? Isn’t the proiblem that they have TOO MANY players? Do they plan on dividing into two teams and re-populating Seattle?

Camby in ny would be great!!!!!

I’d love to have camby back especially the way he’s playing this year, but not at the expense of David Lee.

Won’t Knick fans riot if they trade David Lee?

I’d trade my grandmother to get rid of QRich, r u kidding? DLee’s numbers are right where we want them…to trade him. He’s good, but he’s more valuable as a trade chip than a franchise forward. Get real. Plus, Camby fits into what the Knicks under D’An wanna do. We need someone to guard the rim and get rebounds. Sounds like a good trade for all parties. It’ll never get done…lol. but it should.

Fine then keep lee so the raptors can trade j.o for camby and ricky buckets

  • Simon S.Y Lawy Posted: Jan.5 at 10:18 am
Lee is their future, camby’s too old for that.

  • Ulee Posted: Jan.5 at 11:30 am
Dear Portland, stay the hell away from DLee! We need him. I know DLee must miss Frye, but too bad … and yeah, what Russ said.
I’m still on the high of the Knicks beating the Celtics.

this would be a steal for portland. giving up frye for lee…

  • Josh D Posted: Jan.5 at 2:16 pm
No, the Knicks are getting rid of cap space to sign LeBron, but he will probably sign with the Cavs and New York would be rubbish for the next 5 years

  • underdog Posted: Jan.5 at 2:21 pm
    Free Jerryd Bayless!

  • RV Posted: Jan.5 at 2:34 pm
agree with Russ, but i’m guessing they’d give up 2 guys for Lee, therefore trimming the rotation, but getting back another solid contributor who can start.

  • Dark Posted: Jan.5 at 3:08 pm
    @JoshD:
The Knicks have been rubbish for what seems like the past decade - they’re not losing anything by piling up free-agent money for a chance at getting DWade and Bosh, forget Lebron. Or not quite as intimidating, Joe Johnson and Amare. Boohoo.

  • fruity4rudy Posted: Jan.5 at 5:32 pm
Lee would fit in, but with Martell Webster coming back, and Fernandez about to explode, it would be more then a snug fit.

  • $tev3 Posted: Jan.5 at 5:43 pm
sorta nothing to w/ this but it does involve cap space & bron didnt he say he was gunna sign an extension

  • the baconator Posted: Jan.5 at 6:41 pm
Sorry Portland, but Lee’s staying in NY, where he’s a starter on a growing team. The Knicks won’t make the playoffs this year, but with a solid draft pick and other players staying healthy/consistent, look out for them next season. @B.A.R.F: Lee has proved to be a franchise forward. Not only is he younger than Camby, but he also provides pretty much the same thing- solid defense, great rebounding, and decent offense. He also has a mid-range game, something Camby lacks

  • RV Posted: Jan.5 at 6:56 pm
baconator, there was a story where D’antoni said he wasn’t satisified with LEE’s D and would prefer a bigger, yet still athletic, big man like Camby, who plays better D. I’m not sure how valid it was though.
