The Post Up: Bron and Mo

Jeff Green stuns, and Andrew Bynum goes for 42.

by Holly MacKenzie

Damn Wednesdays and their 12-games slates. Too. Many. Games. Both to watch and to write about. My new rule for Wednesdays (and those Tuesdays that are busy), is not recaping blowouts that get ridiculous or matchups between non-playoff teams that are just ugly.

Sometimes even those ugly games reel me in though, so if I watch it, you’l l get it.

I didn’t get the Raptors game tonight, like the majority of people here in Toronto… Damn TSN2. I’ve got to admit though, part of me was relieved not to have to see another 20-point beating. Yuck. I knew Detroit would win, I was hoping it wouldn’t be another embarrassing loss.

Detroit won, 95-76. Rip came off of the bench and was okay with it. The Pistons outrebounded Toronto 40-28. That’s about all you need to know from that one.

Russ and Jake will have notes for you from the Knicks/Suns game and I’m looking forward to that dynamc duo being together once again.

Somehow, someway the Dallas Mavericks found a way to give up 133 points to the Milwaukee Buck.s 133 points! To the Bucks! Lord have mercy, I didn’t even see a glimpse of that one. Charlie Villanueva led the way with 32 points and 10 rebounds while Michael Redd added 27. Dirk Nowitzki had 30 points for the Mavs in the loss while Josh Howard had 19 points.

The Bobcats took down the Grizzlies 101-86 last night thanks to a 25-point performance from Raja Bell and a 20-point, 15-rebound night from Emeka Okafor.Rudy Gay had 26 for the Grizz while OJ Mayo added 13 in the loss as Memphis was outrebounded 44-22 on the night.

This Lakers game was a blowout for most of the second half until I flipped over with minutes remaining (hey, I was watching Portland and Clevland!), and all of a sudden it hit me, Andrew Bynum had a career night. Not just a career-night, but a 42-point career night. 42 points and 15 boards for Andrew. Nice game, even if it was against Brian Skinner and DeAndre Jordan. Speaking of which, Jordan had a night of his own as he finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots and had a ton of dunks, one of which caused Kobe to look at the ref and say, Because we couldn't find a good Jeff Green pic.“Wow”. Lakers got the W, 108-97, but the game was not as close as the final score appears. Speaking of that guy, he finished with another triple-double, this time having 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists while Lamar Odom added 19 points off of the bench. Besides Jordan, the Clippers had 20 points from Al Thornton and 16 from Eric Gordon.

Ronny Turiaf had 8 assists last night, to go with 6 points and 6 rebounds. That surprised me.

The finish in Golden State was a wild one. Wish more people would have seen it. 72-68 as a halftime score is just nuts. Even more nuts when the team who scored 72 was OKC. They’ve had games where they’ve finished with 72. Or, close enough, anyway. Of course, it would be the Warriors who gave up 72 points in 24 minutes to the Thunder. Still, it made for a fun game and one wild finish. This OKC team is fun to watch with KD, Jeff Green and Westbrook. Unreal shot to win it from Green last night.

And with that, I’m tired, ha. This night has taken it’s toll. I’m JACKED for Orlando/Boston tomorrow, though. Now, I’ve gotta try to get some sleep so I can prepare for that one. Hope you guys will all be ready to watch that one and of course, to hear the TNT crew speak. You know they’ll talk about Obama. That makes me happy.

Boston 98 Miami 83

This was an easy win for Boston. Thanks to the 10-point quarter from Miami in the first and the 20-point quarter from Eddie House in the second, the Celtics were up big early, led 57-34 at the half and held onto their lead to cruise to their sixth straight victory. When the Heat made their final push in the fourth and got within 11, Boston responded with an 8-0 run and Miami didn’t have any answers from there. Ray Allen led the way for the Celtics with 27 points while finishing 5-6 from the three-point line as Kevin Garnett finished with 16 ponts and 13 rebounds and House added a season-high 25 off of the bench. Dwyane Wade had 25 points to lead the Heat as Daequan Cook had 20 and Michael Beasley finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds off of the bench.

New Orleans 102 New Jersey 92

Chris Paul continued his strong play last night, almost notching another triple-double as he led the Hornets past the struggling Nets who have dropped their fourth straight. The Hornets were without Tyson Chandler and David West and they needed CP3 to be their superstar. While the Nets started the game off on the wrong foot, they were in the game until the third quarter when the Hornets used a 16-2 run to outscore the Nets 28-16 in the quarter and go ahead by as many as 16 points. In the final quarter the Nets would trim the deficit to five in the final minutes, but were unable to get any closer. Paul finished with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists as Peja Stojakovic added 20 points and 10 boards and Julian Wright had 11 off of the bench. The Nets were led by Vince Carter’s 20 points while Bobby Simmons scored 16.

Houston 108 Utah 99

The Houston Rockets are impressing night in and night out as they find ways to will themselves to victory without Tracy McGraady and Ron Artest. Every night it’s a different guy (or handful of guys), to step up and fill the void as they give Yao Ming a helping hand. Last night, it was a group effort as Rafer Alston had 23 points, Von Wafer scored 21 points and Luis Scola added 19 points to compliment Yao’s 19-point, 12-rebound performance to help the Rockets get the 108-99 victory over the Jazz. The Jazz fell despite a brilliant 32-point, 11-assist night from Deron Williams and a 20/12 night from Paul Millsap. A 31-19 point first quarter from the Rockets helped them jump ahead early and led by as many as 16 in the game as the Jazz never led. While Utah would cut into the lead in the fourth, the hole they had dug in the first half was too deep to get out of.

Cleveland 104 Portland 98

The match up between the Cavs and the Blazers was a close one throughout, withe Cleveland leading early and the Blazers coming back late, setting up a fourth quarter where every play mattered. With Greg Oden fouling out in the final minute of the fourth, the Blazers trailed by five when Mo Wiliiams knocked down a three-pointer with 49 seconds remaining in the game to put the Cavs up by eight and snuff out Portland’s chances of getting a W. Williams had 33 points for the Cavaliers as LeBron James had 34 points and 14 assistss for a Cleveland team that finished the game shooting 52% from the floor as compared to only 40% for Portland. LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points for Portland while Oden finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds before he fouled out and Brandon Roy added 23.

Washington 107 Sacramento 103

While Washington had control of this game throughout, their defense died in the fourth quarter as they gave up a 37-point quarter to the Kings and in the process almost gave up the victory. While the Wizards had back-to-back 30-point quarters in the second and third to take a 21-point lead over the Kings, they were outscored 37-21 in the final 12 minutes of the game as they struggled to escape their own meltdown. While the Kings got to within one with less than a minute remaining on a three from Francisco Garcia, Antawn Jamison (who finished with 33 points and 9 rebounds), was sent to the free throw line where he made ft’s to save the Wizards. Caron Butler finished with 32 points and Andray Blatche added 20 for Washington. The Kings were led by John Slamons and Beno Udrih who each scored 24 points as Kevin Martin added 22 in the loss.

Oklahoma City 122 Golden State 121

This was a wild one and while I’m probably the only one here who watched it, I think it was the game of the night. With both teams putting aside defense for the first half, the Thunder led 72-68 at the break. The two teams would continue to trade baskets and leads throughout the second half with the game coming down to the final play. While the Warriors got themselves into foul trouble in the final quarter, OKC was solid at the line and were up one, with the ball when Stephen Jackson forced Kevin Durant into an airball that Jamal Crawford rebounded, then took the length of the court and scored to put Golden State up one with 1.6 seconds remaining. On the final play of the game, Jeff Green banked a long jumper in and stole the vicotry for the Thunder, stunning the Warriors crowd. Green finished with 26 points for the Thunder as Durant had 27 and 12 and Russell Westbrook added 30 points to go with 7 assists. Jackson had 29 points for the Warriors as Kelenna Azubuike finished with 21 and Corey Maggette added 26 off of the bench in the absence of Andris Biedrins

Bynum beasted the league last night. The OKC Thunder are playing decent in 2009. For the record, Kobe drops a triple double last night, young man is off the heeee’. Oscar noms? The Dark Knight gets 8, but shut out of best pic and best director. Slumdog Millionaire gets 10 noms but no acting noms, Curious Case of Gregory Oden gets THIRTEEN NOMINATIONS WTF’ERY! Angelina Ho’lie gets a best actress nomination which is bs because she SUCKED in THE CHANGELING. Garbagio. Best Picture Nominations are: MILK, Curious Case, Slumdog, Frost/Nixon, The Reader.
Sorry for a mostly non basketball comment Holly, but the world needs to know! Also, no word yet if Gunnin’ for that number 1 spot will be nominated, but if HOOP DREAMS, one of the best documentary’s every doesn’t get nominated, no way in Hellll that Gunnin’ does. That would be just ridiculous

  • tom

easy win for boston not miami + nice round-up. you´re right, it´s too many games

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Oh and for the record, in The Links, we recently saw Serena Williams tho’ed booty. Venus lost in Wimbledon and during her post match press conference…she looked like she was on craaack like some whitney houston smokin her kneecaps off ish

  • minikidd

nice Holly, great as always… But didn’t detroit outrebound toronto 40-28..?

    Justin Walsh….SLAMOnline’s entertainment reporter.

Holly, change the first line in the Heat recap to read Boston. You’re just teasing me, lady.

Really good night for Andrew…if he played that way all the time, the Lakers might actually be as dominant as the Fakerfans make them out to be.

Uhm…..how DID the Bucks score 133 points….isn’t that like 3 games of offense for them?

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

wow, andrew had 42 against a onetime defensive king? Where did that come from? Holly, Mo’s similarity to a headband wearing, bad ink sporting john legend in the pic is uncanny.

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Eboyyy, just doin like i do. ps, did you peep Funny Games yet like we discussed? and hey hey hey hey baby, don’t hate on us LAKERS fans. :) Eboy, tell your head coach in Miami to start B-Easy, chill out on Chalmers so he can be comfortable with shooting again…And MORE COWBELL!

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

oh? Camby didn’t play? Ah well. 42/15/4 is nice all the same

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

bloody Mavs are robbing me of my last nerve this month. Dirk keeps getting his at will, but the team is so alarmingly inconsistent. Argh!

EBoy I thought Ya’ll would slow down the Beaners for us tonight

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Sh*t, ENDS, they couldn’t do anything to slow Ray or Eddie…..they were constantly open. KG and Paul were minor in the win and Rondo was kind of non-existent…..HOWEVA…………the Celts played a perfect team game and they had good schemes against D-Wyane….probably the best I’ve seen this season. I will say this though…..(sorry Celtic fans)their bench is pretty terrible (even with Eddie shooting like Reggie last night)it just helps that their starters get their leads up big normally and they can coast with the reserves. They need a bench spark to repeat for sure.

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Eboy, true true to the max. Update on Funny Games? Also, Eddie House went classic, true-to-form Arizona State Eddie House on yall last night. I was like. DAYUMMMM. Youngbuck was felonious. Personally, I think the Heat just need to defend the perimeter off of the reversal better, because the Celts screeewwwwed you guys off the reversal passes for open 3PT attempts.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

ENDS, the only negative I could see (doesn’t help being in the arena and not paying attention the stats) with the Celts was that they turned the ball over a ton, if they do that against the Magic and they can capitilze on the majority of them, they should be fine.

  • ENDS

yeah Steven A just pisses me off now. we have a black pres. what the hell are you so madd about?

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

really? Steven A. Uses that catchphrase?

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Justin, it’s okay to have a bad memories. Ask Bruce Wayne’s father. Why did we fall? To learn how to pick ourselves up. Or something in that vein. Okay, ANYWHO, do you agree with me on perimeter defense, and as far as funny games goes, just get a damn netflix subscription, it is SO worth it. do the 2 DVD’s at home at a time with unlimited online on demand viewing (online they have a pretty solid catalogue but most popular/newest movies are at home only) for less than 15 bucks a month. And for real I have that plan, I go through literally like 25 movies a month. Sh*t is real, Eboy. REAL.

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

ENDS, TDK was legit. Better than Frost Nixon I can tell you that, and I LOVE political dramas. The issue is that this year, best picture noms were full of wtf’ery. The Reader was legit, but not better than Revolutionary Road. Milk deserved it, Curious Case was iffy, Slumdog was LEGIT…Basically I could place Revolutionary Road in front of The Reader without thinking, and putting TDK ahead of Frost Nixon without breathing.

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Fair enough Eboy, Fair enough. If I had a 4 year old, my movie watching would fall off like Lil Wayne’s ability to rap after he became permafried due to Promethazine, Purple Lean and angel dust (not to mention an overdose on auto-tune in every effing mixtape he does now).

Darksaber, thanks for the props, but thank the BULLET HIMSELF (but this time, i’m not the shooter, i’m the bullet biiii*ch hahaaaa)…Seriously. How dare he put out a mixtape with nothing but his mediocre young money signee’s, a couple autotune verses and call it the dedication 3. the dedications 1+2 were a few of the best mixtapes ever from southern rap, and he went and splattered the name with poop with part 3. Thank you for calling him the artist FORMERLY known as. Nowadays I just call him lil insane. (not a joke)

I have a fantasy team bias for Jeff Green… What happened to Devin Harris? I know he’s deadling with some injuries but dude has played really poorly recently and Brook Lopez had a stinker of a game last night (of course, right after I was trying to hypwe him as a ROY candidate)

For sure Walshy, I think he’s also performing in Dallas and Houston. So If you’re in the TX, try to hit that isht up!

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Actually, I’m not sure of the exact dates but I know its soon. He’s playing a mini Texas tour, shows in Houston, Austin, and Dallas. The Austin show is this Saturday, so I doubt the Dallas show is too long from now. Just google that isht, the flyer is at my apartment.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

…on the flyer, it just says “The Teacher” KRS ONE. Since its a local promoter (my boy!) I imagine there will be local (Texas) acts opening.

It amazes me that I still listen to Wayne and all these so-called gangsta rappers when absolutely everything in my socioeconomic background would suggest otherwise. It was cool when I was 15 but it just seems pathetical now that I’m in my mid-20s. Sorta like my guilty pleasure, even though i can’t relate to anything they say. Well, I’m black I guess, so there’s that. Sort of.

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Z, listen to Talib Kweli, Mos Def, KRS ONE, Jedi Mind Tricks, J Dilla, Common, Pharaoh Monch…I’ll think of some others later. TAD, You are at the right site, I’ve just sadly led the comments astray, sorry mate.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Speaking of which, why does Mos and Common get a pass for dropping racist lines? I never quite understood why some of my white friends would bump those cats. I mean, racism is racism? Right? Wrong? Not sure.

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Z, I am cool with them dropping in your opinion racist lines because I just don’t really have an issue with an african american taking issue with some parts of white culture. They have good reason in my opinion to hold some grudges. Personally, I think it’s great that Mos Def’s political views are so controversial (his 9/11 beliefs, his thoughts on Bin Laden, etc)…That point of view needs to be heard, period.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

    Z
Ain’t nothing with gangsta rap. That ish is entertainment like the Sopranos, and Lord knows all the white folks watching the Sopranos are not offing cats.
Don’t feel guilty, enjoy that ish. The fact that you didn’t grow up in the hood just means you won’t actually believe that rap is real life and start putting those lyrics to use. You’ll just enjoy it as entertainment. The little cats in the hood are the ones in danger because rap actually glories and enhances the effed up reality they see, to the point where they don’t understand how badly they are getting shafted.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

Eh, I’m going to have to pass on discussing whether Common and Mos Def’s lines are actually “racist.” I’ll just say I don’t agree with how easily that word is tossed around.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

Is it bad that I’m not overly impressed with J Dilla?
Or, that I thought Lupe’s first album was better than his second?
Or, that I think Talib Kweli has been in decline since Blackstar?
That I still really like listening to Jadakiss even though I can predict what he’s going to talk about everytime?

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

Allenp, agreed, the word racist is thrown around too carelessly these days. It’s not always a black&white issue (no pun intended, i just can’t find better terms).

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

    (sigh)
    -
Ok, i’ll get in this discssuion since I enjoy the artists we are speaking of at the moment:
J Dilla is a beast, just incosistent.
Lupe’s first album WAS better than his second.
Talib will never reach Blackstar level again.
Jadakiss needs to drop something new. Like yesterday.
    MF Doom is criminally underrated.
Wale is ok. I don’t see great.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

    MF Doom is funny.
How come Doom’s funny is so much more celebrated by the hip hop elite than Lil’ Wayne’s funny or Kanye’s funny?
I mean, I’ve listened to a few Doom cuts and I have yet to be wowed by his take on the world. But, I do laugh. Same thing with Wayne and Kayne, but they are despised by a lot of cats.
Also, Andre 3K is still the best rapper alive. Just letting y’all know.
    Now, back to basketball.
The Pistons one by 20 and Prince was the only person up over 20 points if I’m not mistaken. Plus, my boy Iverson is trying much harder on defense.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Andre 3000 has been the best for quite some time. No argument from me. I don’t listen to Wayne, so I have no idea about his so-called funny lines. Kanye is witty, not exactly funny. Doom is basically a comedian rapper, if that makes sense?
    -
As for the Pistons: that loud sound you heard last night was me exhaling.

Tonight Bynum will go for 4 points and 2 boards against whoever Wizards… He’s consistently inconsistent.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Brian Skinner is bad at defense.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Wayne is too too funny, although he has weird fetish with fecal-related punchlines. (e.g. I’m the sh–, ya’ll just poop stains) / Allenp, I feel the same way with Clipse. They have one subject : drugtrade. But they can rap about it in a million different ways. / Racism was a strong word, I admit. I kinda have to point out that I was born in Senegal so, even though I’m black, I tend to forget that race is always an issue in America. / 3K is better as a rapper than Jay and Nas ever were. Maybe not as important, but better. He drops verses on remixes like Walk it out and Throw some D’s basically to amuse himself and cats lose their minds. ‘Your white T looks to me like a night gown, make you mama proud and bring that sh– 3 sizes down’ Nuff said.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

    CoSign AllenP on post-Blackstar Talib
But you are way off on J Dilla.
Lupe’s 2nd was good too, took a while to grow on me but there is some fire there, for sure.
“J to the Mwah” is nice
I used to be a big Doom fan, but got kind of burnt out on that isht
And Andre is untouchable when he goes hard, but I’m just not sure he does enough work to be considered “the best” right now. Not sure who else would be though…

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

I don’t believe in Bynum as a perennial allstar. Completely irrational but I just don’t think he’s hungry enough. He seems to be okay with riding the ‘potential’ tag or as Simmons calls it TUP (tremendous upside potential).

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Bynum went off last night but he did also give up 20 10 and 3 (FG 8-10) to 20 year old DeAndre Jordan who couldn’t even get off the bench at A&M last season.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

HOld on now… I love Andre3G as much as the next head. But better than Nas “EVER WAS”?! I’m sure I don’t have to expound on the greatness of Illmatic. And I think It Was Written is criminally underrated. Pre-1997 Nas CANNOT be F*cked with.

Z – I’m definitely not feeling you on Andre being a better rapper than Nas “On a skill basis”, whatever that means. There’s nobody better than Nas. Though, I understand what you mean about a reunited Outkast possibly missing some of what made them great originally. Their legacy is set. No need going back and potentially mucking it up. And yeah, Outkast is the best rap duo ever. Premier went to highschool in Texas, and he didnt make Guru, but he damn sure brought him to the table.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

    Ciolk
Dead that noise about skills. There is no skill, NONE, that Nas possesses that Andre 3K does not also possess. I repeat, NONE.
Andre has dropped every kind of verse you can make in rap. He’s done an entire concept album about relationships. Sure, he doesn’t have the quantity of material Nas has, but his quality is on par with anyone.
Plus Jigga > Nas in my tape deck…
I’m shocked with the BETCATs play lately. I’m wondering if they are still going to be trading Felton considering how well he’s played lately. And, who would have guessed that Raja Bell and Boris Diaw would be the two Suns that could come to a new team and change the culture. Seriously, nobody could have figured that.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

Jason Maxiell needs a dependable jumpshot like David West. Then he would be straight.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Agreed Allen. Can’t get a dependable jumper without some court time, though.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

    freeeee Maxiell

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

OutKast was GREAT but I’m not giving all of that love to just Andre. To each his own, but IMO Jigga is so fake compared to Nas. I’m really speaking to Nas’ early work, but I just don’t see Andre earning placement at the top of the stack. Let him come with a legit solo joint before we annoint him.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

TAD: Maxiel definitely needs the burn. His effort is unquantifiable.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

    TAD
I’m going to have to respectfully disagree.
David West developed his jumper while on the bench. Amare came back from a knee injury with a jumper. So did Jamal Crawford, who actually came into the league solely as a slasher. Max needs to get to work with his assistant coaches.

  • http://www.ravingblacklunatic.blogspot.com Allenp

    Ciolk
We agree to disagree because my top five favorite, most respected rappers goes Pac, Biggie, Dre, Jigga, INS

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Allen: You are correct. Maybe I mispoke. Yes, he needs to improve his jumper in practice and he has been working on that part of his game. However, no one will know the fruits of his labor until he gets consistent burn on the court. I believe that is what I meant.
    -
Jigga is different, not fake in comparison to NAS. Honestly, none of these rappers are completely real. But again, they don’t need to be to entertain me. I love all 3 artists, so i’m not going to get in a pissing war over who is better/worse. I honestly would give the best to Biggie all day, but thats just me.

  • Jackie Moon

    Joaquin Phoenix spits feces.

  • http://www.alllooksame.com Tarzan Cooper

nas, jay z, andre, none of them are even in the same universe as K-Rino. go listen to a few of his songs, then burn your false idols

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

INS = Inspekah Deck? Word. / Nas has never been THAT great at rapping and it never really bothered me because he was always on point. (Nostradamus never existed) So it’s not even a big deal for me to say that 3K raps better. It has no bearing on my appreciation of Nas as an artist. / I’ve been wondering about Maxiell for a minute. No disrespect to Amir Johnson but was he done in the L to steal burn from a dude who eats babies for breakfast?

  • http://www.where-basketball-b-longs.blogspot.com/ B. Long

It’s amazing what happens when you get the ball into Bynum consistently through out the game. Where’s Jukai at?

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

AllenP: My only beef with that list is Dre. I guess I always thought of him as a producer not a rapper. I mean, Snoop wrote most of his rhymes on The Chronic.

Z: with regards to Amir/Maxiel I imagine Curry feels like Amir protects the paint better with his shot blocking skills. But they extended Max over the summer, so I’m not sure why he isnt getting minutes.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

BLong : Its amazing what one can do in the paint against DeAndre Jordan (who barely got off the bench at A&M last year) and Brian Skinner. But, Bynum did have an amazingly efficient night but he did give up 23 12 and 4 blks (on 11-12 shooting)to a guy who probably shouldn’t even be in the league yet.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com BETCATS

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

And as for Amir getting more burn over Maxiell: it all breaks down into fits and potential. While Maxiell is a great energy guy who goes at 150% everytime on the floor, that doesn’t bold well for him starting a game that way. He is the perfect energy bench player. As for Amir, he was actually a top prospect in high school who bypassed college and is now only 21 and truly harnessing his ability. He will be very good in due time.

Man. Charlie V seems to be finding his stride. From his rookie season alone here in TO, he reminds me a whole lot of everything that was good about Derrick Coleman. Anybody else think so? Bargnani is somehow playing the best ball of his career despite the Raps’ disaster a season so far, but it really really sucked to see Charlie V go. I hope Villanueva stays healthy and has a great career.

Eh, I show up late to slamonline every day, so maybe the music conversation got over I don’t know. In a day and age when Lil Wayne can kiss his producer on the lips in public and everyone still calls him the best rapper alive, I could give a f-ck less what Andre 3000 wears.
