The Post Up: CP3x2, No. 5

While the Thunder and Timberwolves win again.

by Holly MacKenzie

Okay, Tuesday. And that Monday was a tough one to get through. I was dragging all day. I’ve been working weekends and weekdays all the same so the days are just blurring to me, but dammit if I cant always tell when it’s Monday. Mondays are devil days. Always. Ha.

I liveblogged the New Orleans/Philadelphia game over at The Score last night, so I didn’t get to watch much of any other NBA game last night. Still, I flipped back and forth on commercial breaks and halftime, so we’ve got some recaps below.

You know what we don’t have? Anything from that disgusting Atlanta/Miami game. I’m sure Eboy and Cheryl are psyched, but I refuse to recap a game where a team failed to score a field goal in over 13.5 minutes. Yes, the equivalent of a quarter. Listen Hawks, you killed me with that one. 27 points at the half while the Celtics had 78 at the half only a day before. Good gosh.

About that liveblog. I was worried it may not be so entertaining as the Hornets were without both David West and Tyson Chandler. Chris Paul knocked my socks off as he finished with his fifth triple-double of the season and a line so ridiculous, I can’t say it without smiling because I get excited. 27 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists, 7 steals and a blocked shot. All on 13 field goal attempts. My gosh that guy is good. Too good. Yes, LeBron is a monster, a beast, an unstoppable force when he plays, yes Kobe is smooth and skilled and defying all odds, but Chris Paul, I don’t even know. He’s just special.

He makes me feel better about this game that I love when I watch him play.

He also speaks with the officials a lot.

Peja was nuts in that game as well. After the Hornets were horrible from beyond the arc in the first half, Peja found his rhythm late and drained a pair of three-pointers back-to-back and then followed those up with three more consecutive makes for the Hornets.

Thaddeus Young looked nice for the Sixers, though. He’s got a quick release and his shot looks so smooth sometimes, it shocks me.

The Suns continued to roll as they faced the Washington Wizards and that was another blowout. Shaq continued to play well and had 29 points on the night. My guy J-Critt got a few minutes and he was a welcome sight on my TV screen when I was playing channel surfer.

I had started to watch the Blazers/Clippers game and it was okay for the first half, but then somehow the Clippers managed to die in the fourth and get blown out by 20+ again. To be specific, Portland won 113-88, but the announcers said that Marcus Camby will travel with the team on their upcoming road trip, so that is a piece of good news. I think they’ll take whatever they can get at this point.

Brandon Roy had 33 points on 15 shots for the Blazers in that one.

New Orleans 101 Philadelphia 86

With the Hornets undermanned in this one, playing without Tyson Chandler (ankle), and David West (back spasms), the Sixers thought they’d be able to pull off the victory. They almost did as they lead early, except the Hornets have this guy named Chris Paul. He wasn’t content to allow his team surrender another game on their home floor. While Philly shot the lights out in the first half and led by seven at the break (47-40), Paul led New Orleans in a decisive third quarter that saw the Hornets outscore the Sixers 29-16. In the fourth, already holding a lead, it was Peja Stojakovic who found his shot, hitting 6-8 three-pointers in the final 24 minutes of action. Paul didn’t just lead his team to victory, he tallied his fifth triple-double of the season with a final line of 27 points (7-13 fgs), 10 rebounds, 15 assists, seven steals and a blocked shot. StojakovicRasual Butler added 26 points while and James Posey each added 13. Thaddeus Young led the Sixers with 22 points while Andre Miller had 19 points and Andre Igoudala finished with 17 points and 7 assists.

Oklahoma City 94 New Jersey 85

All of a sudden, the OKC Thunder are showing up to play. After the first half of the season was spent losing and losing by a lot, the Thunder are stringing together victories and putting up a fight as they show their opponents some serious grit as of late. Last night was a perfect example of this as the Thunder took down the Nets, 94-85, despite a fourth quarter collapse that almost saw them lose it all. Thanks to a 14-2 run to open a third qaurter that saw the Thunder outscore New Jersey 31-14, OKC led by as many as 30 points in the second half before allowing the Nets to get back into the game when they went ice cold in the fouth, but the Nets had too much of a hole to dig themselves out of and were unable to get any closer than seven points. Kevin Durant had 18 points to lead the Thunder as Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green each had 13. Nick Collison added 12 points. The Nets were led by rookie Brook Lopez and his 18-point, 7-rebound performance. Devin Harris had only 10 points on 17 shots while Josh Boone added Nice pic, but Tracy wasn't nearly enough...for the Knicks.11 points off of the bench.

New York 104 Houston 98

While the Rockets have both Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest back, they don’t have Yao Ming and that is proving problematic, as the Rockets were unable to grab a victory at MSG last night. While the game was close and McGrady had his shot going early, he cooled down in the fourth when the Rockets needed him most. While they led by nine in the fourth, the Knicks used a 14-5 run to tie the game and after Wilson Chandler hit a three-pointer to put the Knicks ahead 97-96, New York never trailed again. David Lee had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Knicks as Chris Duhon had 12 points and 11 assists. Nate Robinson had 19 points and Wilson Chandler 18, off of the bench. Luis Scola had 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets while Tracy McGrady had 20 points (on 20 shots), and Carl Landry added 16 points off of the bench.

Minnesota 90 Milwaukee 83

If B. Long’s facebook status is to be believed, the Timberwolves have the best winning percentage of any team in the NBA in January. Now, I could look that up, but I’m going to trust our guy. If he’s wrong, well, get at him about it. Last night, the TWolves did what they’ve been doing as of late, they found a way to win another game, this time against the Bucks, taking them down 90-83 in Milwaukee. Without Michael Redd, and also Andrew Bogut, Minnesota knew this was a game they could get and just as they have been doing since the new year has arrived, they went out and got it done, behind the effort from Al Jefferson who finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds. With the Wolves up double figures in the fourth the Bucks went on a 13-3 run to cut their deficit to only five, but they were unable to get any closer and the victory was Minnesota’s. Ryan Gomes had 22 points and 8 rebounds as Randy Foye and Kevin Love each scored 12. Ramon Sessions had 18 points for Milwaukee while Charlie Villanueva added 15 and Richard Jefferson added 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Holly…..don’t lump my team in with a disgusting mess like the Hawks…..you’re better than that, lady.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Here’s what I’ll tell everyone in brief recap about the Hawks and Heat game (Co Co should love this)

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Dwyane Wade does whatever he wants offensively.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Joe Johnson’s post game is underrated. He put Dwyane in foul trouble and to the bench in less than 5 minutes in the first quarter.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Unfortunatley….the rest of the Hawks are terrible….especially All-Star in the waiting Mike Bibby and the former ATLien.

  • http://www.ballislife.com Justin Walsh

I knew you’d have something to say about CP3 going just shy of a quadruple double. That was ridiculous last night. Also, Al Jefferson deserves an all star spot. Period. PERIOD. No arguments. :)

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

Wade’s getting it done on the other end of the court as well, Eboy. How about that Magloire dunk? The Heat might actually have a decent center come playoff time.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Don’t blame Al Horford not playing either…..the Heat played without Marion and had 5 minutes of work from Beasley before he left for the rest of the game with injury.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

    yeah um………..

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Hi Ryne. Wade gambles too much….I wish he would get a lockdown mentality like Michael had at certain points in the game. Joe continued backing him down and caused Dwyane to look lost on his post D.

I wouldn’t bet the house on Jamal playing that well for the next 40 games….just as I wouldn’t bet the house that Mark Blount can contibute as efficiently as he did last night too.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Hi Co Co!!

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Does CP3 lead the league in triple doubles?

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Hi Eboy. So I may have been slightly wrong about my prediction yesterday, but that loss only makes us even.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

You’ve got to like what the Wolves are doing…..but isn’t it kind of pointless? They’re not getting a playoff spot and they’re going to have a low lottery pick. Well….scratch that…..it won’t matter who they pick…..they’ll trade him away anyway.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Slightly.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Unfortunately I’ve still not gotten to see Beasley play. He’s still just a rumor to me.

  • riggs

    LOL @ Co x2

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Like Bibby’s All-Star status.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

    What’s up with the T-Wolves? I’m befuddled.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Bibby won’t be at ASG, Devin, VC or Mo W. will lock up that spot.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

I still think Bibby is an All Star. The Hawks have only 11 less wins than they had the whole entire season last year and theyve done it with Josh missiing damn near a month Al early in the season and still no return date, Marv missed a few games Za Za has been out and Speedy…. anyway, one bad game does not undo all that he’s done. I don’t care if they look at it as a lifetime achievement award. He should be there.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

    And I should proofread.

  • http://www.nba.com/nets/news/View_from_the_Couch.html Ben Couch

Glad to see my CP3x2 tag is surviving. :)

  • neaorin

Um, yeah, about that Bibby to the ASG thing… could you run that by us one more time?

  • ENDS

If Vince Carter Make the ASG…

  • ColdVicious24

Kevin Durant should be an allstar… i know he is on a losing team, and that he is still young, but he is droppin 20 every night… he just needs some post help, i think next year the thunder will make some noise

  • ENDS

And I think David Stern Rigged the Fan vote. Who would know ? Chris Paul Beat McGrady? What did China just stop Voting?

  • neaorin

Oops. note to self: refresh before posting. Anyway, Devin and/or Mo will make it ahead of him.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

His numbers are comparable to Mo’s and all things considered Mike should be there ahead of him.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

No more L-Wolves, it appears. No more losing in the land of Thunder, either. The Hawks have crashed back to Earth and have gas leaking near an open flame. Miami is #4 in the playoff positioning race in the East. The Knicks are relevant. The Hornets are winning minus Chandler and West. Strange times indeed.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

The Heat won’t last at #4, TAD. I think they’ll be lucky to finish 6th, if all goes well.

  • neaorin

Yeah but people will look at the Cavs’ play and record and decide that Mo had a lot to do with their improvement. Not to mention he’s got LeBron as his campaign manager. Unless they end up selecting just one backup PG in which case both of them will be watching Devin Harris on their big screen TVs. Or they should, anyway.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Co Co; all things considered Cavs has won a lot more games than the Hawks, with their (Mike & Mo) numbers being comparable, this should warrant that Mo is selected in front of Mike. Cavs are much more deserving of 2 All-Stars than Hawks.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Probably not E, but it is pretty crazy considering it is almost All Star break and where they were last year.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Actually, let me correct myself. The Hawks are actually the 4th seed in the East right now, while the Heat and Pistons are tied with identical records for the 5th seed.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

TAD, I know….they play hard……that’s the only thing I can say about them. They’re not talented…but they go pretty hard.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Lz, I would argue that the Cavs would be no worse than 2nd or 3rd in the East anyway since Detroit took itself out of the running. Sorry Tad.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Meaning what Co Co? That Detroit won’t win the Central? I knew that 20 games ago.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Yeah, you’d have to agree that is unusual. They’ve been atop the East for too many years now.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Eboy’s been itching to rub CoCo’s nose in that loss since last night. Ah me likes slamonline. Ok, CP3 is insanely good, still can’t get myself to truly like him (yet). But much respect to the little guy.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Dark….it’s over. I know the Hawks just had a sh*t night yesterday. Just tired of everyone else thinking the Heat are the same team they were last year and can’t compete.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

E: I hope you don’t think I was implying that about the Heat? I know how insanely good Wade is and knew how he looked this summer meant he would be beasting this season. Also, i’m on the Beasley and Chalmers bandwagon. They have some good, young players there.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I’d also take Haslem on my team 8 days a week.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

And Co Co: not really unusual considering the Cavs have been close the last 2 years, LeBron has help now, and the Pistons have a rookie coach. I fully expected the Cavs to win the division.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Nah TAD….not you….just in general. I’m curious to see how they’ll do against your boys next week in Detroit.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

udonis. Stoic, calm, effective. Now Magloire is showing signs of life. Two of my favorite frontcourt players right there.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Udonis Haslem=Grant Long 2009.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Co Co; true they should be no worse than 2 or 3 in the East. Still everybody watching must agree that this years team, is so much better than last years. LeBron and getting to know each other, off course plays a big part in this. But so does Mo’s play. Therefore I would rather see him there than Bibby. Anyways I feel Devin Harris should make the ASG over both Mike and Mo.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Haha exactly Eboy. He’s right in that Buck Williams echelon of PF’s.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

more like Horace 2009. (i dug Ho G’s game, and goggles)

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

All good comparisons……I wish UD was a little taller and a bit more athletic…..but he’s the Heat’s backbone.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Eboy; if he was that, he would be Horace 2009.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

    * like Dark suggests.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Bibby had been playing lights out while Joe had been slumping recently, but Bibby had a couple poor games back to back, but I still think Joe Johnson should be the Hawks only All Star. Devin Harris or Mo Williams needs to make that team. And, CP3 is just on some other isht right now, he might alreqady be better than Isiah.I know he doesn’t have a ring and I’ll probably get bashed for saying that, but the kid is just out of his mind right now.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

You may have confused some of the younger readers in here with the mention of Grant Long.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    I know….I sometimes don’t think before I type.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Devin will make it over Bibby.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Yeah Tad I thought he meant Grant Hill. Cuz I’m younger………… (wink)

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Except for the Isiah part I couldn’t agree more Ciolkstar. Let Paul get himself wet in the playoffs before we start calling him better than Thomas.

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Devin I can’t argue with, but I think Bibby deserves to go over Mo.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Co-sign, Lz.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

sheeeit, if they don’t know Grant, Buck or uncle cliffy for example, they should get to work on them history books (or in nbk’s case, wiki. Ah man, couldnt resist the urge)

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Is it me….or does it still seem like Cliff is still on someone’s roster somewhere?

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

    LOVED Cliff Robinson.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I’m sure Cliff is smoking, where ever he is.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

hahaha, true that. Cliffy was my dude on those blazer teams. Him, Flide, Jerome and Buck.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Don’t forget Kevin Duckworth and Terry Porter.

  • neaorin

Cliff is still in the L posing as Al Harrington.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

flide? Damn iphone! GLIDE, of course

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Yeah, LZ and E. I did say “might be” better than Isiah…Isiah was also a little before my time so I might not fully appreciate his game. And I was reading an article on how the new handchecking rules REALLY benefit smaller PGs that attack the basket, and I think there is some truth in that premise. So its probably fair to say that Isiah could’ve been doing some of these same things statistically.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

couse not TAD. But Terry and the duck (r.i.p) were’nt my favorites there.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

IMO the All-Star subs should be: West – Forwards: Nowitzki, Gasol. Guards: B. Roy, Billups. Center: Shaq. Wildcards: Al Jefferson, Tony Parker. East – Forwards: Paul Pierce, Danny Granger. Guards: Joe Johnson, VC. Center: Bosh (yeah yeah, I know not really a 5 but he made the team as one last year, and there really are no valid alternatives) Wildcards: Devin Harris, Hedo. Now let’s discuss!

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Isiah was raw….like Big Daddy Kane raw (maybe that’s too old school a reference too)…and I hated that little prick, but he was incredible with the ball in his hand.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Ciolkstar; I’ve made that exact handchecking argument over and over around here, so mos def here what your (and that article) are saying. As good as he is, no way Tony Longoria could have been Finals MVP with those rules for example.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

In more than one sense Clifford was the original Blazer.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Since my first BBall watching experience was Bulls-Blazers ’92 that Blazers team hold a special place in my heart.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

On a whole other topic: Is there anyone of you guys that are Blackberry users?

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Talking with myself, Talking with myself..

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Hi LZ. No Blackberry for me.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Thx Eboy, my loneliness had me entering a BETCATS state of mind.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

A day without BET is like a day without sunshine.

  • http://slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

Nate Robinson is I-N-S-A-N-E. And I can’t believe the Tuff Kats were on the wrong side of a 20-0 4th quarter run and still beat the Nets by nine. Even the Knicks don’t run the Uptempo Collapse™ that well.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Eboy: I just saw a Magloire dunk from last night where he covered his eyes while dunking. Whats up with that?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

LZ: No Crackberry for me either, but what was your question?

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

I haven’t watched a single Rockets game this season, but from looking at the boxscores it looks like TMag has contaminated Artest with that fall-in-love-with-3pointers-disease. What a shame, if that indeed is the case.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

TAD….in all honesty…I thought that’s what he did…..and then I said to myself “nah…he must have got poked in the eye on the way up”. I don’t know if he really did…..but if he did, that’s pretty f*cking dumb on his part.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

TAD; the +/- about the device. Carrying a Iphone in São Paulo is like an invitation to get robbed. So I have to check out the alternatives. And since Blackberrys for some reason doesn’t exist in Denmark, the only thing I know about the Blackberry is that many people seem to use it in the Americas. So would be thankfull for any advice.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Yeah, it was on Sportcenters top 10 plays. They replayed it and Jamal was cutting baseline, received the pass, and as he was rising up to dunk he raised his off arm and covered his eyes with it while dunking. He then uncovered and looked upcourt to see if anyone had noticed. Honestly, I haven’t noticed Jamal in like 5 years.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

LZ: Blackberrys do everything under the sun. The one negative is that they are as big as the sun. Honestly, unless you are using it for work and play, it isn’t really worth the investment.

  • Phil B

Magloire always dunks like that. I don’t know why. I think he’s trying to make it his signature dunk. And Heat fans… don’t count on Magloire.

And in other news, two words: Brandon. Roy. Nice pick for slam of the day.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

It’s amazing to me that a guy (Jamal) with probably a 7 inch vertical (no exaggeration)is able to dunk….with uncovered eyes or not.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

TAD, E… that’s something that Magloire started in Milwaukee. Nobody cared then, nobody cares now.

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com BETCATS

    Kevin Durant for All-Star

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    For real.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

TAD; cool thx, it’s for work so the size might be a necessary incommendation. Big you say, bigger than the Iphone?

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

LZ, if it’s for work.. get the BB. iPhone is cool and all but the battery runs out FAST. You can barely do a full day w/o recharging it. I’d ask if people are comfortable with you having a camera on it too. Some clients are uneasy with people coming in their buildings and possibly taking pics.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Yea LZ, bigger than an Iphone. But if it is for work, you can’t go wrong. Honestly, they aren’t nearly as big as they once were. Another option is the Sidekick, which i’m sure Lang can tell you all about.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ BETCATS

Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant Kevin Durant!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ BETCATS

“the Heat played without Marion” how bad of a thing is that? Shouldnt that give the heat a ADVANTAGE

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

No offense, but Sidekicks should only be used by Female undergrads. The thing is as big as a house and looks like a PSP. You definitely need a purse to carry that.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

Z, TAD; Thanks for your input, I have been reading a bit about the BB. But believe more in hearing about it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak. I’ll look the Sidekick up. Z; since it’s for work the BB sounds like a good solution. I like the Ipod an all, but as I mentioned initially just the look of it attracts the wrong kind of attention where I’m going.

  • http://danchamb.com.br/Home/ Lz – Cphfinest3

*Ipod=Iphone. So the Sidekick is even bigger than the BB, hmm I guess that takes it out of the discussion.

  • Keith

After last nights game, I’m a little dubious as to how good the Blazers are. A couple of fans actually said that they play down to opponents talent levels. That’s do-able if you’re the Lakers and leading the West (and the NBA) but if you’re in a battle til the end of the year just to stay in the playoffs, it could all end horribly. But Roy is good.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I actually don’t know how big the Sidekicks are, but I know people who swear by them. But work wise, the BB is the way to go.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

I know our boy Shia uses a Sidekick.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

The Blazers are still a young squad, all things considered. I expect them to make noise come playoff time, though. Roy is ridiculous good.

I’m not hating on the Blazers. I understand they’re young but I find it of slight concern that they appear to play down to their opponents talent level. Admittedly this was from only a few fans but cnocerning none the less. And I repeat; “Roy is good”.

Sounds like a BB is the answer. Just read that you can use it as a GPS as well. Neat. Brandon Roy is a basketball-player, made up just the right way imo. He will rule for years. Combining Blazers talentlevel, Oden’s anchoring inside, and Roy’s clutchness, I wouldn’t be surprised if Portland makes a multiple ring winning dynasty.

Noise? Really? I just don’t want them to go the Chicago route : clinging to a pseudo-core. Oden will be nice, Aldridge is nice, Roy is a problem, Rudy has 6th man of the year written all over him. The rest of the squad is average. You win with stars in this league. 10-man rotation with equal opportunities for all is for college.

Z: I hear you. However, Outlaw and Martell Webster are also pretty good. As is Steve Blake. I think if Jerryd Bayless starts to get some burn and is a quick learner, he will be part of that core group.

Let’s give it up for the not-as-lowly Wolves who are bearing their teeth only to realize they need dental care. Oh, and, Holly, please don’t encourage Eboy. The poor lad has messed himself at least a dozen times on this posting alone.

Is it possible that Kevin McHale might actually be a good coach?!?

Brandon Roy is a beast and a championship-quailty lead dog, but predicting multiple rings for the Blazers is pretty foolish. I mean, they could get one in a couple seasons. But SO many things have to go right for a team to win multiple chips. Also, that Magloire dunk was beyond weak. And the Twolves are actually pretty decent right now. Its hard to admit, but McHale has done a great job.
