Bosh Re-Assures Raptors Fans

by Marcel Mutoni

He may not like their booing very much, but Chris Bosh isn’t going to let that (or his team’s struggles this season) drive him out of town. Despite what “ESPN entertainer” Stephen A. Smith has to say shout.

Bosh emphatically denied a report by Smith this past weekend that he had informed Toronto’s front-office that he wasn’t re-signing with the team in 2010.

The Toronto Star reports the main parties’ responses:

“It was a surprise to me and I can’t be responsible for what other people say so …,” said Bosh, his voice trailing off in disgust. “I understand people are entitled to an opinion but making stuff up? We can’t do that. Let’s all be fair.”

“There’s no truth to the rumour or the speculation that he said anything to us in the organization, that he’s going to be leaving,” said [GM Bryan Colangelo]. “There’s no truth to the fact that he’s on the trading block or being shopped in any regard. “This is just another example of information that’s out there that’s not true … There just doesn’t seem to a lot of accountability with respect to the topic sometimes and that’s why we’re here today talking about it.”

As if you needed another reason to change the channel whenever SAS’s mug shows up.

So, there you have it Rapts fans. No need to step up to the ledge … yet.

    first … who cares. Overrated!!

He should leave. As they are now, the Raps would be lucky to make it out of the first round in the East. The East!

    Free CB4…

I cant stand Stephen A. And I am SOOO sick of hearing about EVERYONE leaving in 2010. As a Raps fan I dont even want to think about CB leaving because then its over. This season has been rough (putting it mildly), and now its up to Bryan to put pieces together to improve the team. I have a feeling hes working on something right now – hes gotta be…2010 is a long time away, there is a lot of stuff thats going to happen before then, let the guys play.

what is stephen a. smith exactly?

  • T Money Posted: Feb.3 at 10:19 am
Chris Bosh had probably the shortest MVP campaign in league history

  • T Money Posted: Feb.3 at 10:27 am
But truth be told, CB4 gets blamed for what is a poorly constructed team. As tends to be the case with these middle of the pack teams, they enjoy a few seasons of ‘surprising everyone’ and ‘potential contender soon’ and if they don’t make that next step, they completely implode. And with the lack of lottery balls and excessive contracts doled out to role players masquerading as superstars, progress is impossible

And you end up being the 2009 Bulls

  • Doc Funk Posted: Feb.3 at 10:49 am
was SAS acting on a tip from Ed Werder?

  • Jess Posted: Feb.3 at 10:54 am
Colangelo has said that he feels that this is the best team he has had since he has been here. I disagree though. Maybe the starting 5…ON PAPER..there was a lot of speculation as to how the Raps would do this seasona and it all depended on health. It was all, “if they are healthy” well guess what, they havent been. And even if JO had been hurt like he was, it would have been a completely different story if Jose had been in the lineup all season. Bosh is the only Raptor to have started all the games so far. They are not deep at all (we miss players like Garbo, Mo, and Delfino – who I hope will be making his way back) – they need help on the bench…Bosh has still had a solid season though, I feel as if it has been overlooked because the raps have been playing so poorly…hye maybe we can break the streak at the Q tonight….hey, someones gotta stay optomistic right?

Bring back Oakley’s billy-goat-gruffness and the ghost of Kenny Anderson.
And why haven’t we signed Bonzi Wells? Any attitude is a good attitude at this point. We’re SOFT!!!

    I still think he’s leaving.

  • TADOne Posted: Feb.3 at 12:46 pm
I’m sure Vince said something similiar…

  • G00SE Posted: Feb.3 at 1:20 pm
Why would he give up his team. Its not calderons team or parkers team. Its boshs team, he will get the big money and for me that should be eough to make him stay. It aint like the contenders are gonna offer him as much money as the raps will. plus the raps are a couple pieces away from becoming a good team.

If CB4 were on the way out, don’t you think he’d say so in a well-choreographed video?

  • rapsfan43 Posted: Feb.3 at 2:28 pm
    Hows Charlie V SAS?

  • M Cho Posted: Feb.3 at 3:05 pm
Stephen A. Smith needs to choke on some cheese doodles.

  • Josh D Posted: Feb.3 at 3:23 pm
Too bad, on my Video game the Raps traded him and Jose Calderon to the Lakers for Lamar Odom however, if i was Bosh, if the Raps stayed this bad i would move to a better team in 2010

i love the raps! i love (and still do) VC! but bosh needs out of toronto, nothing good is coming from staying there.

  • McNulty Posted: Feb.3 at 4:09 pm
CB is not a quitter. That being said, he signed a short term deal for a reason – Colangelo has some serious work to do, & needs to admit it.

  • malomatt Posted: Feb.3 at 4:44 pm
first of all, i think the raps season is done, some things contributed: 1. Colangelo making some big mistakes (getting oneal, getting a “slim” roster, not keeping delfino, mo pete, signing kapono) 2. injuries(when calderon was out, they couldn’t win) 3. i must say though, their schedule has been one of the worst in the nba so far, raps have faced boston 4 times already this season. solution: raps should trade oneal, possible deals: obviously the marion trade, oneal for a. gray, nocioni, and hughes; oneal for b.gordon, d.gooden, and nocioni. i hope the raps do somethin during the offseason, hopefully they make it to the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs next year.

Jess, stop the excuse train right now. This team was playing like crap well before players got injured. BC messed up BIGTIME when he traded for JO, and never address OTHER MAJOR issues with the team. You know, backup PG, a wing. AND firing Sam was uncalled for. Sam was NEVER th problem. You can only work with what you got, and BC gave him crap.. hence crap record. Bosh is pulling a VC.. he mailed it in 3 months ago. It’s obvious. Oh I remember the days, people were saying this team will be in the tip 4 in the East and they were contenders. I still have no clue what they were looking at.
