Locker Room Issues in Houston? You Don’t Say!

Color me shocked at this report from the Houston Chronicle: “There have been indications of locker room issues in recent days when Ron Artest specifically cited Tracy McGrady for the third time in a little more than month. McGrady countered that the team is ‘talking too damn much’. ‘I do know,’ McGrady said on Saturday, “that you can see that amongst ourselves, things are not how they used to be, meaning the bonding, the togetherness with our team.’”

Artest needs to Stop Snitching. Its unnessesary, we all know McGrady is broke.

Where is Jeff Van Gundy when you need him?

  • whooo!

what, you’re saying ron artest will hurt a team’s locker room chemistry?

  • http://slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

Wait, I thought getting Ron-Ron was the last piece to the championship puzzle!

  • Young Chris MP3

Is it time for the team to side with Ron Artest and replace McGrady? Ron-Ron has played through injury this year and he never takes a night off. T-Mac takes nights off even when he’s ON the court.

  • Funkdoc

How could this even work in the beginning of the season? Ron-Ron is ganged, T-Mac is too banged up, and Yao is too… well, he’s just too.

  • Funkdoc

    *too “ganged” up

    no one gives a sh*t

young Chris, i believe Ron has taken at least 10 games off…if anyone gets replaced it’s ron. He’s easier to move and would give you almost equal value, where tmac won’t.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

i get why everyone wants to say Ron is causing problems…and yeah i guess he is if Tmac is reacting like this, BUT, Ron is not wrong.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

Prior to the last game, against Minnesota, Ron said the D starts with the main guys, like Tmac. Tmac came out on a rocket that game, the first 4 or 5 possessions he looked great, crossing defenders, pinning Foye’s layup to the backboard, then he went back to “normal”.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

It’s what I’ve been saying for the past year, he needs someone to challenge him for him to take it up a notch, all season he coasts until he’s called out, then he comes out fuming for a game, maybe two, then it wears off.

  • Young Chris MP3

RV, he missed games because of injury, but he’s still played hurt several times this season (I believe a few of those were game-time decisions after finding out that Mac wasn’t playing that night also)

  • kadavour

So you’re a locker room malcontent if you challenge the notion of TMac’s omnipotence?

  • KILLAGORILLA

I think TMac’s got Chris Webber Syndrome, where his natural gifts make everything so easy that he really doesn’t know how to try hard. I’ve backed up McGrady (see what I did there?) since he became a Rocket and will always back the Rockets, but this season has me doubting my main man TMac, not to mention our playoff chances.

Young chris, true, but your words were “never takes a night off”, but i guess you meant he doesn’t take the night off when he does play.

Ron has to stop throwing T-Mac’s name around. You do it once to send a message. Thrice? That’s just disruptive. Good gosh, is Ron Artest becoming a disruptive force?!

    I blame T-Mac.
    I will always blame T-Mac.

  • rav

just imagine scola and artest ganging up on yao and t-mac :D

  • daniel

T-mac is the best thing that ever happened to the magic. without him taking games off for them, they would never have gotten dwight howard!

  • chintao

@ Rav ==> Given the reported past differences between Yao and McGrady, T-Mac might quickly find himself in a 3-on-1 situation. Besides, Artest is a Yao Ming Warier, baby!
