So Mo Williams Is An All-Star After All…

by Lang Whitaker

Just got word from the NBA that Chris Bosh will miss the All-Star Game with a sprained right knee. His replacement? Mo Williams. So stop making up words, Cavs, your boy made the team…

@ Jukai: I agree, David Lee should have replaced Chris Bosh. But Ray Allen should definitely be an All-Star.
I’d replace Paul Pierce with Mo!

  • Witness

so if bibby or calderon were playing for the cavs he would deserve that vacant spot?

  • Witness

give the spot to david lee. he is an all star.

  • http://www.rich-imaging.com Dutch Rich

Lee ain’t no allstar. Allstars get calls from the ref. Lee ain’t no allstar.

  • Will Lee

jesus. And Vinsanity isn’t? Weak. Now about amare being a starter…. Dirk better pull a Tonya Harding on him, damnit!

  • juliusj14

Deron Williams is clearly the biggest snub he has slowly returned to being a one of the top two PGs in the league and nobody has noticed. He should replace Chris Paul. His avegarges are nearly equal to last year’s.

  • wilz

so, dwight and garnett are essentially the centres, and lebron will play the PF? this is MESSED UP

  • buggsie7_aus

iguodala deserves it more than williams

  • http://fdklf.com Jukai

    Teddy: Okay, I can co-sign.
Witness: Has Bibby or Calderon dropped 43-8-11 yet? Well?
juliusj14: Anyone who has played less than half the season and has lost 50% of his defense doesn’t deserve an all-star birth.

  • Juliusj14

Jukai: He’s played in 38 of the 52 games that the Jazz have played meaning he’s only missed 14 games not even close to half the season. He’s playing better than any point guard in the NBA besides Chris Paul. He has way better numbers than All-Star guards Jameer Nelson, Mo Williams, and Tony Parker. He averages a double-double. Everyone acts as if he just got back from injury. He has played the same amount of games as Tony Parker, who made the All-Star team despite the fact that Deron Williams averages more assists, has a higher efficiency, and probably would be averaging more points than Parker if he hadn’t came back when he wasn’t hundred percent. Its a travesty that the second best point guard in the NBA has never been an All-Star even though he was Second Team All-NBA last year and is on pace to do it again with his numbers and increasing production.

Hey, dude has been out shorter than I thought… I guess it’s cause he did come back at 60%… but he STILL DOESN’T DESERVE AN ALL-STAR NOD.
You’re overrating his stats: 18 points, 10 assists, 46% shooting, 32 from the three-point stripe, and really nothing else to boast about except for his massive 3.58 turnovers a game. His scoring has gone up a helluva notch since the last time I checked it, since averaging 32 points in the last five games… but it’s just too slow of a start to get an all-star nod. Utah is struggling to even get a playoff spot, and I know that’s because they’re injured, but to fall off so drastically with Boozer injured… and for Boozer to keep the team so up float without Deron… well that’s just not a good sign.

  • http://fdklf.com Jukai

That being said, if Deron (or Nash or Terry or pretty much anyone) was in the East, they’d get an all-star nod in a heart beat.

  • http://fdklf.com Jukai

and if it means anything Juliusj14, I wasn’t for Parker making the all-star team either, I thought Big Al shoulda got the nod.

  • Manumaniac

Tony Parker shouldn’t be an All-Star. That is all crap! Baron Davis and Ginobili should be All Stars last year, instead of David West and Brandon Roy, and Deron Williams should be All Star this year, instead of Parker. What the hell is wrong with the NBA All Star Game selections lately? Why do the fans and the coaches always select players that shouldn’t be there? Allen Iverson shouldn’t be at the All Star Game this year! This situation really pisses me on!

  • http://fdklf.com Jukai

You know what pisses me off more than the NBA All-star selection?
Brainless fans named “Manumaniacs” pushing their oft-injured, aging shooting guard ahead of someone who actually deserves an all-star nod. Also, thinking Baron Davis deserves anything.
    The end.

  • Manumaniac

Ginobili deserved to be an All-Star last year and that’s a fact. Besides, the fact that he was selected to the All-NBA Third Team instead of Brandon Roy or David West proves that and more. By the way, Ginobili played 74 games last year (the same number as B-Roy), plus the playoffs

  • Manumaniac

Ginobili should be an All-Star last year and that’s a fact. He was better than B-Roy and D-West last year and that’s the reason why he was selected to the All-NBA Third Team instead of your guys. Oh, and by the way, about that “oft-injured” thing, Manu played 74 games last year (as many as Roy), plus the playoffs (17 games). Also, he was more productive (19.5 points in 31.1 minutes, Roy had 19.1 in 37.7 minutes) and he was playing to a championship contender team (Spurs are not Trail-Jailers, you know). Check your notes next time, junior. I’m not gonna get pissed by you, because you are way to ignorant to judge anybody. Especially Manu.
    The end.

  • slamfan4life

Rose shoulda taken Bosh’s place since all Mo and the Cavs did were complain

Jukai gets schooled…but BigAl should make the team last year and this year,so you´re both wrong…the stats dont lie.

  • Juliusj14

Jukai: I agree that Al Jefferson should be on the team but he should have probably been in the game over Shaq or David West and plus Jefferson is injured now. If Chris Paul cant play then Deron Williams is the best possible choice in the West for his replacement. Anybody else would be a let down and Jason Terry is also hurt.

  • underdog

David Lee should have got the spot. Mo Williams is a good support player, but not an all-star caliber.

  • Juliusj14

T-Mac should be in it. LOL!

  • http://www.bbl.org.uk Josh D

1.Congrats to Mo should have been on the all star team when Nelson got injured
    2. Why are they replacing a Centre with a guard, when you don’t have any other player on te team who can even play power forward, let alone centre

  • CHE

I find this a odd selection. I thought they replace the all star with someone of the same position? Not to say Mo Williams didn’t deserve to play over Ray Allen but I think the League kenw that and so instead of getting another big man who kinda deserved to be there they got someone who definately deserved to be there.

    The east needs Manute Bol

  • anthony

Who the hell is Mo Williams?

A freakin nobody? An all star?

This has got to be a joke.

  • ab_40

and he’s replacing nelson in the skills challenge

cuzz you know he’s such an amazing point guard.

    it’s a shamockery

  • anthony

sorry people. as far as i know the all star team is a collection of the best players across the league. more specifically across each conference.

and not simply one of the best players in a particular team’s bench.

he should not suit up. cleveland may love him there. but the rest of the league will just laugh at him.

  • jose

i knew mo was gonna be an all-star. It scares me that im right tho.Superman,KG,vs yao, Shaq,Pau,Big Timmy,And Dirk. wow. maybe lebron will help them out.

  • http://www.kicksonfire.com Anton

ummm this “nobody” just dropped 44 points and 7 assists

  • Manumaniac

So Mo (Williams) Is An All-Star After All, But Deron (Williams) Isn’t… Am I the only one who thinks that this is extremely weird?

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

My question then…is there no back up centre then..?

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

Yeah its going to be awesome to watch DWADE and LEBRON tear the front line of the west apart.

  • Manumaniac

By the way, this is the second straight season that Hedo Turkolgu gets snubbed. And I’m not completely sure that Rashard Lewis deserves it more than this Turkish clutch scorer…

  • Juliusj14

Deron Williams just had another 30 point game. Thats Five straight. Deron gets no respect.

  • Manumaniac

I guess the only way for Deron to get more respect is to be selected for the second straight year to an All-NBA team. I wonder what are all NBA coaches going to think, when he makes it (again).

  • gilmarts

Mo deserves it because Lebron James said so! LOL! By the way, a lot of players deserve to be there but there is a limit on number of players who are allowed to play so better stop pushing other great players who didn’t made it! Congratulations Mo! Prove it to everybody that you deserve it! I believe in you!
