Surgery for Tony Allen

Allen’s left thumb is causing his coach much grief: “According to Doc Rivers, Allen is the reserve the Celts could least afford to lose, because, while the coach has said he thinks Allen’s defense could be better, he is the best backup to Paul Pierce for that end of the floor.”
