Trade: Morrison to L.A.; Vlad Rad to Charlotte

As of today, Adam Morrison and his wispy mustache are headed to the City of Angels in exchange for Vladimir Radmanovich. The throw-in in the deal is Shannon Brown.

The Lakers today traded forward Vladimir Radmanovic, 29, to the Charlotte Bobcats for two third-year players, forward Adam Morrison and guard Shannon Brown.

Overall, the deal will save the Lakers more than $8 million in salary cap space over the next two seasons. “We feel we picked up two players that could have upside,” Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak said. “We pick up some flexibility down the road with a shorter commitment vs. Vlade’s commitment.”

The financials make perfect sense for the Lakers, but basketball-wise, this changes next to nothing. The only reason this is even worth a mention is the fun that will be watching and reading about the relationship between Phil Jackson and Adam Morrison.

Larry Brown’s head, by the way, just exploded.

    i like phil jackson’s move after shannon brown
    lit the lakers up in the win in l.a.
    he told mitch kupchak to make a play for that kid
    and throw in adam morrison because he does not look like jesus anymore, and can can give us 46 min of strong bench time

    As a fan of the 09 Champs Lakers I like tha trade-It might give Morrison i fashion sense livin in LA-I know Morrison bein a bus thus far but dude was a stud at Gonzaga and Phil can bring tha best out of anybody-Plus he playin with tha Greatest player on hardwood

    I think this is a even trade but in order form him to produce, Phill needs to put him in the game. He was a pure shooter in college so he need s to be in the rotation to help the Lakers.
