Carl Landry Shot in Leg

by Ryne Nelson

Upon returning to Houston late last night, Landry was picking up some fast food when his car was side-swiped. As he got out to investigate the damage, shots fired from a car driving by, the second of which hit his calf.

The Houston Chronicle has the report:

Houston Rockets forward Carl Landry suffered a gunshot wound to his lower leg early this morning in a possible drive-by shooting or failed robbery near downtown, police said.

Landry, 25, was released after treatment at Memorial Hermann Hospital. A team spokesman said he suffered a flesh wound and is expected to be out of the lineup for one to two weeks.

The important news is that Landy’s OK–he was treated for a flesh wound and released from the hospital. But, all things considered, Landry got lucky. The gunshot was not life-threatening and it’s not even season-ending.

Good knowledge RV, I got the same from local reports, way to set people straight. He also has a dislocated finger. I have driven around all areas of Houston late at night and it doesn’t seem that dangerous. Of course I’m strapped, no not really, well maybe sometimes, no not really. If anyone is ignorant enough to think that this typifies a Houston or Texas event then don’t come here, we don’t need any more ignorant people. We have our share.

and the bullet would have to richochet off your gun or something similar so that it wouldn’t sink into your soft flesh….maybe the bullet from their gun when fired could go up the barrel of your gun…? that would stop it…wouldn’t it? maybe it might wreck your gun though. and then you would need to get a new gun…try a-mart…but they could fire a second shot almost straight away… you would have to run away, maybe thats what Carl did?!
