Chris Bosh’s Wholesome Image Takes a Hit

by Marcel Mutoni

CB4, perhaps more than anyone else in the L, works very hard at branding himself and creating a certain public persona. That of an accessible, somewhat goofy, fun-loving guy.

His ex-girlfriend (who became kinda famous last year), though, says there’s an other side to Chris Bosh. The “deadbeat father” side to be precise. And she’ll see him in court.

From the Toronto Star:

Chris Bosh, the face of Toronto’s struggling NBA franchise, is being cast in U.S. court documents as a deadbeat father who broke up with his girlfriend when she was seven months pregnant, leaving her destitute and without medical care even as she fell ill.

[...]

Four-month-old Trinity Meyers Mathis, according to the documents, has laid eyes on her father but twice, both times in his hotel room when the Raptors were in town to face the Wizards. The complaint, which contains allegations that have not been proven in court, says Bosh contested his paternity before genetic testing determined a 99.97 per cent probability that he is Trinity’s father.

Bosh, of course, denies the allegations and his attorneys say they’ll work to clear his name of any wrong doing.

If the genetic testing is actually something that truly occured and those results are factual….there is no denying he is the kid’s fahter.

I’d imagine more than his image is taking hits up there in T Dot, if you know what I’m saying. If not, think Cypress Hill.

Regardless of his relationship with his ex, he needs to be there for his child, financially at minimum. He’ll have to deal with whether or not he was a “good father” himself, but not paying child support is just not an option.

  • Ritchie

Just give the lady child support and move on. Tired of seeing stories like this. Bunch of gold-diggers, if you ask me.

  • Funkdoc

If he hears ‘today was a good day’ by Ice Cube on the radio today, he’ll kill himself.

Eboy come on there is a very real 0.003 percent chance that he is not that baby’s daddy. You can’t ignore this option!

BC is prolly snorting something fierce at this point. Your star is now a douche, you failed big time with the JO trade this summer and slowed Bargs’ development, your team has no identity and is the softest in the L, a 10-day dude (Pops) is playing major minutes for you late in the season, am I missing something?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I’ll take that bet, reggie. Bosh will still get max dollars.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

who knows, only a few stars were capable of bottling up their private / legal troubles and unleashing all that frustration on the court (Kob’s, MJ, Reggie). The other’s usually show it in their game. And Chris has had a rollercoaster season. Sad that he’ll go through all of this in the public eye. But hey, them’s the dice you roll.

Wrap it up if you don’t want a kid. There’s nothing complicated in that. If you refuse to take this one simple step, then you gotta pay. Nuff said.

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

haha yeah Bosh’ dad is the real daddy! does that also make him his grandfather? does that make chris both the father and the brother? uncle?

Cheryl, not only did he not wrap it up, he got fertility medication to speed things up!

I get really tired of guys always blaming women for “trapping”, “gold digging” “cougar-ing” as if they have no control over who they skrew. Y’all know how to detect the real from the opportunists. Stop whining like babies when you get played.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

Um, I’m guessing there is more to this story.

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Cheryl

Co-sign Cheryl. Oh, and the cheerleader Dwight Howard got pregnant, do ya’ll think she was out to GET him? Regardless, Dwight is taking care of his responsibilities. Hopefully, Chris wises up and grows up (again, IF it is true).

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Cheryl
That’s like me saying I’m tired of hearing women complain when men dog them out. You gotta know the dogs from the good guys.
    That’s ludicrous…
Anyway, if she’s taking him to court, she’ll get paid eventually. Didn’t we learn anything from the Wade saga? Don’t trust what comes out in the original court documents.

  • http://www.alloutblitz.com cordeazy

I dont’t care if she “trapped” him, dude knew what was up back In High School, and if you bear a seed you need to take care of it period. To many of us grew up without daddies. CB4 better pay attention before he ends up like the pops on the Blueprint 2 (track 4 (most underratted JAY Z song ever))

I’m guessing, just guessing, that since they had fertility treatments and were living together at one point that something happened to there relationship, and now they are Splitsville.
He probably hasn’t seen the baby in a while because he’s young and dumb. She probably wants him to keep breaking her off so she can maintain the lifestyle she always had.
They’ll probably work it out. I mean, the baby is four months old. He can’t have been a deadbeat for that long.

  • Michael

in tribute to bill simmons. the moral of the story- as always, women ruin everything

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

    i agree with Allenp

  • Joe

Wow.. Trinity’s dad is RuPaul, looks like an actual Raptor, and gets paid in Canadian money, doesn’t get much worse than that.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

I don’t defend absentee fathers. There are far too many of them in the black community, and it has wreaked havoc on the lives of many children.
However, I think four months in is a little early to be calling Bosh a deadbeat. From the story I read, she is upset because he kicked her out of the house they shared and he stopped taking her to the doctor, or at least paying for her health coverage.
I say, if dude was doing all that for her, something made him stop. Either he’s just an evil bastard, or they had a falling out over something.
    We’ll find out eventually.

  • The Starks Knight

He should take that 0.03 % chance that the kid isn’t his and spend the next 10 years in court. At least he’ll have a better chance of winning in that court than the basketball one.

This is coming from a Raptors fan. We’re hopeless.

  • Charbury

No wonder Bosh hasn’t seemed focused all season

  • chris g

My money is on LeBron as the real father. I’m sure Bosh’s girl was impressed with the way he responded to her heckling. Perhaps a bit too impressed . . .

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Allenp: He’s been a deadbeat for months before that, dumping her off at her mother’s house and not giving her a penny when things got complicated in the pregnancy.
And how do you know the lifestyle she ‘always had?’ I know we all generalizing, but that’s pretty bold, Allen!

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

    again: i agree with Allenp.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

The ONLY way I can somehow juggle this into some sort of pseudo justification is that he thought/had proof that she was CHEATING on him when she was on fertility drugs, and didn’t know if the son was his. Then I could somehow see somewhere along the lines the ‘mindset’ of abandoning your girlfriend who is pregnant and not paying a dime to ensure that THE KID who MAY OR MAY NOT BE YOUR OWN comes out okay.
    Man up, Bosh.

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

can’t we just joke about this until we hear Bosh’ side of the story, or better yet a ruling from the judge/jury?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Uhm….I know there’s a couple of father’s that post in here (like me)…one thing I’d like to throw out that Allen pointed out….yes, while it (could be) true that he has been a deadbeat for the baby’s first four months of life and that’s not a long time in contrast to the whole life of a child…baby’s are much more expensive to deal with than a child that is let’s say 4 years old in contrast. Just saying, this would be the most productive time to be supplying an existence to your kid, as the baby is much more needful than a more grown up one.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Jukai
You are assuming that the events described in a family court filing are fact. Eboy can tell you that is not correct.
The truth is, this is her attorney’s filing to show that Bosh is an unsuitable parent and justify her claim for sole custody and spousal support.
He will make a response in court.
My point is not to say that Bosh is innocent or a good guy. It’s to say it’s far to early and there is far too little information to justify calling him a deadbeat or a loser or scum.
Even from the details released by his ex-girlfriend, there is evidence that they had a thriving strong relationship, which abruptly ended, she says because he went to China and got a big head. I don’t understand why everybody assumes that must be true.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Allenp, I hear you on being cautious but it doesn’t look good for homeboy. I really don’t care about their falling out, but the child is as much his than hers and he obviously didn’t make a play to see the baby that often or even have him stay in TX. Since she’s taking care of THEIR child by herself, he should support her. Them’s the breaks. / Dead the gold digger stories, this wasn’t a fling. She was there e’ryday all day at the ACC.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Allen, you’re right…..the family court filing doesn’t make the allegations neccesarily true….but they do need to be addressed from Chris’s side to try and balance this out. I think it’s a pretty safe estimation that the girlfriend wouldn’t be trying to make this a huge public matter if dude was at least paying for the kid and breaking her off with some good change. I don’t know if Chris is guilty of anything besides dating someone who could be crooked….but the questions are many and the baby is the one who could suffer later in life.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Well, to help out Allenp, he must have asked to have a DNA test taken for a reason. They aren’t cheap, even if you make millions of dollars. So, since she hasn’t denied that part, it is a good possibility that much more will come of this story.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

naah Juk’s, noticed it, but it was innocent enough.

DNA tests are actually not that expensive, but you do have a point. She might have been cheating, it still doesn’t really change anything. This is more about neglecting a kid IMO.

  • Gumdrop

    Good call Tad.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Eboy
I’m a daddy too, soon to have another son. I totally understand your point about caring for your child.
However, I think that life is complicated and four months is still a little early. Plus, I don’t know for sure what she means be a lack of support.
I find it hard to believe that a former personal chef to the rich was destitute with now vehicle and no medical coverage.
And y’all realize that “breakthrough” bleeding is normal during pregnancy, right? Most women have “spotting” during their pregnancies and my wife has had serious nausea during both of hers.
The young lady says the baby was delivered due to an emergency C-Section in November. She was seven months preggers in August. Y’all do the math.
Emergency C-Section doesn’t mean she’s dying, it could mean the baby is approaching eight pounds or larger and the doctors do not want her to have a vaginal birth.
My point is that this court document is designed to make Bosh appear as bad as possibel and Mathis as sympathetic as possible and it’s working. Just like the probable cause documents filed by the District Attorney are designed to make you look as guilty as possible.
    Doesn’t make you guilty.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Man, some of y’all are funny.
I’m wondering how many cats on this board had actually been in a long-term committed relationship?
Or, have even had sex with the same woman on a regular basis?
I ask that because y’all are oversimplyfing how men and women interact in relationships, and y’all are greatly underestimating the power of hitting it raw.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Yeah man, Allenp is right, forget about the child and the broad, she probably did him wrong and she can go through labor and childbirth herself, keep the kid honey, the check’ll be in the mail. Whore.

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Cheryl

BTW, Allenp, I AM tired of women complaining of being “dogged”. Same goes for them. If you suspect a “dog”, run the other way. Again, it’s not that complicated.

Chris should settle this the minute the DNA results came back.He should’ve sat down with his lawyers and the girl and he should’ve asked her “how much do you need for you and my child? I’ll buy a house a car and give you $8000 a month”.
If she is a Goldigger and says no you have the documents to back up that you tried to help and be a “Man”.

Man, you could hear bad things about Kemp all the time, but never things like this.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

I know people will get pissed that I say this, but come on… Wade had VERY similar accusations from his ex wife, plus she said he gave him an STD. Plus the ex work partner yadda yadda. nobody talked about that, I’m actually kind of disappointed people are talking about this.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Jukai
If you were confused by my comment, you should have asked for clarification.
Everybody saying “He should have used a condom” might want to think about their own actions when they’ve been in a monogamous relationship with a woman. My own experience is that once you all have established monogamy and committment, one of the first things to go are the condoms.
But, that’s just what I’ve learned.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

    Allenp:
I didn’t know you were responding to those who were just talking about the whole ‘WRAP UP YOUR TOOL PLAYAS!’ thing.
They’re not reading the link, they’re just mindlessly commentating. Condoms don’t have anything to do with this story.

  • niQ

i mean, it’s kinda hard to deny 99.97%..

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

niQ, it’s not him being a parent that I’m talking about. It’s all of her accusations, how long it took her to sue him..no offense but if it was for the kids, she would have quietly made a deal for CHILD SUPPORT, like Dwight Howard did, the right way with his girlfriend. But She’s suing after a length of time that just screams “SHE TAKE MY MOOOONEY”….aka Gold Digger.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Justin……legally, she can make a claim at ANY TIME for support….there is no timeframe she should be working in to make it seem justified, at least under American law….and state to state have some deviations from this but not too much really.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Justin, that’s pretty unreasonable. It’s a pretty daunting task to sue. Perhaps, she wanted to, I don’t know, -deliver the baby- and wait four months to make sure everything was taken care of homeside?
Really, she’s moving on this pretty fast if anything. Remember how long it took T-Mac’s baby momma to make a move?

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

Eboy, I know this, but if he was a deadbeat from day one you do it from day one not way later. I mean come on, she had 2 months to make the claim before the kids were even born to make her childs future more secure. I just don’t like that this report has as much legitimacy as a mediatakeout report (i read them but don’t use word as bond) without having people doing investigative reporting first. I really get bothered when media automatically just gangs up on the black athlete. Honestly, I think we need to be asking a few things – one: what is his side. two: why did he leave her. three: is the not seeing the offspring true. four: why did she wait so long? why didn’t she do the right thing and get this dealt with during the last 2 months of the pregnancy AFTER they broke up? five: we don’t even know if Bosh knew the kid was his at the 7 month point, we don’t know what she told him. We also don’t have literal proof that the paternity test happened. I’m assuming it is his kid, but just having a report saying his kid yadda yadda yadda doesn’t impress me. I just don’t think this attempted to get any real information, it’s like they read a press release from the lawyer and went with that.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

Jukai, pretty unreasonable why? And let’s not get into a thing where people say I’m being cruel to the kid, because here’s a little hint into my life. I was literally in a situation like that. My biological mom was dumped mid pregnancy by my biological father. She then put me up for adoption to give me a better life, and because of that here I am. So I do understand the situation, to the extreme in fact. But no offense Jukai but waiting for months to make sure everything is taken care of….what kind of excuse is that. You dont WAIT to secure your child’s future. You do the right thing- you GET TO IT. And saying TMAC’s baby momma is a well at least it’s not that slow is a weird argument considering that doesn’t make it right. I’m not saying villify the woman. I’m saying let’s actually do both sides of the story, investigate the evidence, then make a damn conclusion, not do a media take out response.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

How in the world do you want her to sue as she’s in labor, dude! She (reportedly) had a lot of problems with the pregnancy and you want her to fill out the papers, meet with a lawyer, discuss pricing options, all while in and out of the hospital? You brought up some great points, but she sued PRETTY DAMN FAST. Reasonably fast.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

I -do- want to know if he knew she was pregnant, I -do- want to know if he already asked to help her, I -do- want to know if she moved out first, I -do- want to know if Bosh made any effort to see his child, I -do- want to know all the details that would take a LOT of heat off Chris Bosh.
But you don’t seem to be familier with the criminal justice system. One doesn’t just go out and sue. Finding legal representation, having the papers go through the state, this all takes a while.

  • James aka…

I think we should all post our sources on this debate. It would be useful to see which papers are breaking the news and fromwhat angle.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

Jukai. I do know the system, I’ve had to figure out most laws for parenting, adoption, and finding information out on parents because I wanted to know who my real parents are (by the state I was born in, I can’t find out til age 25 for the record)…Here’s the thing. This sounds horrible but any efn lawyer who hears these words – “An NBA player knocked me up, I want child support” and then shows proof that they dated… The lawyer will start drafting up the papers immediately. Let’s not be totally naive here. I’m not saying it would have been outrageously easy, but come on, she doesn’t have to do that much, she just answers questions from her lawyer. She sued reasonably fast in comparison to idiot gold diggers who basically tricked NBA players into rawdogging, but I’m not really impressed by it. Seriously, look at how Dwight Howard’s girlfriend dealt with the child support issue- it was much less bashing much more just getting the details worked out and dealt with. Most of it was done in private, no reputations were pissed on, and she clearly was not a gold digger.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

I think there are far too many “what ifs” flying around right now. But I’d love more than anything to hear the opinions of the legal professionals here when more facts of the story unfold.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Justin: I remember -EVERYONE- calling her a gold digger, but I digress: why do you assume that Bosh’s girlfriend didn’t try to deal with this through private channels and find that it didn’t work? Now you’re assuming as much as everyone else.
Maybe she didn’t want to just call the guy on TV so she researched. Maybe she was hoping Bosh would take her back after hearing his kid was born so she opted out of it. Maybe she originally thought she could take care of the kid herself, then realized she couldn’t or was angry about how detached Bosh was. And maybe, perhaps the lawyers decided to gather three months of info (and get out of here about her going to a lawyer eight months pregnant, really, out of this world) before going public with this.
A stretch? Yes. But no more than Bosh not knowing about his baby or Bosh trying to help out his former GF and being turned down and all the things you brought up.
Take your own advice and wait and see the case out Justin. I regret jumping the gun here and bad talking Bosh because at the time, I couldn’t see how he wouldn’t be the villain here, but people have given me more than enough reason to hold my tongue. One should wait and see the reason Bosh’s ex-girlfriend waited the half a year to sue (if child birth and medical recovery isn’t reasonable enough for you).

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Justin…..I don’t know if this had to be a black/white issue….just saying.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Justin: Just to be clear, i’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. However, people can only comment on what is known so far. That being said, let me flip your scenario: what if Bosh was the one telling her he is going to take care of the child and for her to be patient? What if Bosh told her he was setting things up for her and would be in contact? I guess what i’m saying is that you seem to be taking one side of this argument as well.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

TAD, I already beat you to it, but thanks for gettin’ my back, brah.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

jukai, I’m not assuming, I’m ASKING why that wasn’t mentioned. I’m ASKING what happened in it’s entirity. And Eboy, sorry, this situation is NOT a black white issue, but the media overall does like to pile on black athletes, that much is irrefutable. But you’re right, I probably didn’t have to say that. But here’s the real tragedy. Octomom fired the free nannies to take care of her kids because they wouldn’t let her do a TV show. She’s pimping out her kids to make money and funneling it into a non profit organization so it’s not taxed, and taking welfare off of the government and food stamps and everything else. She’s a fraud and I hope they take her kids away.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Or what you said…yeah. And reggie, Bosh will get max dollars. Just as people have been debating, we don’t know the whole story yet. Besides, I could probably name you a few players who have made max money in the league with children they weren’t supporting.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

TAD, that’s definitely true, I am hesitant to take her side. But at the same time, with 90% of the comments being on the side of the woman with no known facts about her, I don’t really feel bad for being on Bosh’s side before I know the facts. I mean this woman is known best for pissing off LBJ and then being the reason the Raps lost the game. We don’t know anything else about her. But we do know Bosh’s charitable donations, work in the community, hell he started a Chris Bosh foundation in 2004, before he was even 21 to help inrich the youth of our generation. He has done so many philanthropic things, that I hesitate to just assume he is douche-bagging this by not even offering to pay child support. So yeah, I’m on Bosh’s side of the thing, until I know all the facts, because I can only go by what I know, just like what you said. And what I know is this- from all history and facts, Bosh is a good, loving, charitable person.

  • reggie haters

I dont think that he wont get it because of this (but it doesnt help) I think he won’t get max dollars because of the economy, the state of the NBA, owners caring more about their pockets than their teams, and teams getting burned in the past with giving max dollars, and outbidding themselves dfor guys with good numbers who are not legit superstars. Chris Bosh is a really really good player, he is not a superstar. Owners will not be fooled again.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

but I just realized something. Why am I arguing with good people about something neither of us know all the facts about? Let’s do a wait and see for a smidge. Til then, let’s listen to the soothing voice of Asher Roth.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Justin: Actually, I heard the octomon hired her nannies because they were reporting her to child services. Same difference though, she’s sick and those children probably shouldn’t be around her.
As for the whole Bosh situation, I can’t help but lean towards the mother. We’ll see once more details are given (or we’ll never know as this will be settled out of court)

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Those are all good points reggie, but owners also want to win and have their teams make money. I’m not saying Bosh will definitely make a team win if he joins them, but he is a multiple All Star and teams get more exposure with those types of players on their team. So regardless, i’m quite sure a team will offer him max dollars, bad economy or not. There happens to be a lot of desperate GM’s with disposable money in the year 2010.

Oh…..and Walsh…not sure if I read the content correctly….but you referenced Wade in earlier….and I’m not sure exactly what your take is…..but he and Bosh’s situation’s are completley different.

  • Eboy’s Daddy

Cordeazy – Jay-Z song is bad, but it sounds like the Immortal Technique one.

As for Bosh, contesting parternity is fine, but once it is proven, he got to provide financial support – it is even worse because he can afford it.

Anyway, you never know what it is til it gets to court.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    @ Eboy: THE MAURY SHOW?!?!?!

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

nono, I don’t mean the situation being the same. I mean the accusations of Wade being a deadbeat dad, not seeing his kids, etc.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    THE MAAAURY SHOW??!?!?!!?!

  • Cool j

The bottom line is Bosh is a no win situation,he may hate the girl now but one way or another he is going to be paying a lot of money.

There is not getting away from it…once in a commited relationship and have unprotected sex ,you gotta be ready to pay-up when the time comes …no excuses. At the end of the day being labelled a deadbeat dad is not good for endorsements.

  • BostonBaller

Child support is a must regardless of the relationship with him and her. It would be a great thing if he actually played a part in the childs life also…..BUT I do NOT agree with courts that award the mother 3 grand a week for child support just b/c the guy makes GREAT money, especially if he is involved in the childs life.

  • nate james

    what a f@g

  • Eboy’s Daddy

    Yeah Cool J,

It is not like it is hard to figure out. The only thing is atleast he has money. When you are poor and the girl comes knocking, she will take most of your money, atleast that is the way it works in the UK.

  • truthteller

I love these stories! I love them! I love it when superstars get brought back down to earth by their actions which proves that they are actually human. I hate all the fake crap that the media write about these superstars and that the public eats up. These stars are human beings and they and the public need to realise this and stop expecting holier than thou actions from them! This includes Kobe, AI, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, jason Kidd, Dwight Howard just to mention a few and of course Chris Bosh! You know who’s next, right? King James!!! Welcome back to reality people!

    Jukai
I explained to you the “problems” with her pregnancy.
Those are all normal occurences within any pregnancy and her “emergency” C-Section came when she was nine-10 months preggers.

  • sab

such wise insight from so many people who in reality know so little about what -actually- happened. *sigh*
a whole lot of comment on idle speculation. if anything, it sounds like one of those cases where she’s playing him thru the media, and y’all have fallen it like typical suckers… maybe…

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Allenp: a c-section is never normal. Unless she DEMANDED it because she refused to squeeze one out, doctors don’t just delve out c-sections. There are always risks, huge risks, in cutting someone open.
There are also different levels of bleeding and nausea that people suffer from during pregnancy. Some people become very sick, as my friend did. Everything was ‘normal’ with her, but she couldn’t hold down anything, couldn’t keep up a conversation without phasing out, and fainted a couple of times.
    Things were status quo.
    Yet she was very sick.
    You get me?

jukai – i know!! hence the “maybe”… we have no idea of the REAL facts do we… as TAD pointed out, this happened on his birthday? on some “you tell me by March 24th or i’ll make sure you have worst birthday ever!” type sh1t? maybe. i’m idly speculating. as is everyone else. we don’t know what happened!! so chill with the over-zealous judging!!

  • http://nicekicks.com MeloMan13

soo this is why the Raptors aren’t makin the playoffs?

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    Jukai
How many times have you been with someone when doctor’s are considering a c-section?
I know for a fact that while doctor’s prefer to let births happen vaginally, c-sections are not as dreaded as they once were, and have been on the increase in America for the past decade. I actually did a story on rising c-section rates and “designer” c-sections.
I’m saying that her story sounds dire at first glance, but look at it closely. She had an upset stomach, some bleeding and a c-section. That describes a huge amount of perfectly normal pregnancies, yet cats on here, including you, assumed that Bosh abandoned her while she was on her deathbed.

  • floe

Whaaat!Turns out Bosh is tougher than he looks. Now all he needs to do is add 20lbs of offseason muscle.

  • James aka…

Publicity is one of her weapons in the matter, not one of his. The allegations i have read sound to me like tactics in a battle, and as such, i don’t believe that they represent the reality of the situation. Clearly her lawyer believes that he is trying to pay less than she feels entitled to, so it will now be done publicly and through the courts. It’s likely that the settlement, if there is one, will not be known publicly as that is just how things work. We all know Shawn Kemp had tonnes of kids, but we don’t know how each negotiation played out.

  • Damon

I’m assuming this is the girl who looks like she has a cinema screen for a forehead, right?

I know it may sound harsh and as though money fixes everything in these situations (and it doesn’t, because being there as a father is just as important), but if he really doesn’t want anything to do with the child (I’m not sure if that’s the case, just hypothesising), then he should at least provide financial support. It’s not going to help his personal or emotional relationship with his child, but at least then he won’t be dragging things though court for years, the ex won’t be all bitter and hateful to him (not as much anyway), and at least the child will be able to live relatively comfortably, even if it is without his father around.

  • wilz

oh ya…cuz those last years (or any years for that matter) were so successful with carter “serevei”

I was reading Chris speaking on his defense and saying that his lawyers will respond in court to the accusations.
It becomes he said ,she said issue. The only way ,he could recover some of his reputation is if his lawyer comes out and says 2 or 3 months ago Chris tried to settle this issue amicably and here are the documents to prove we ‘ve made an effort.
Beside that anything he says or his lawyers say will make look like an incensitive SOB who tried to run away from his responsability.

  • BostonBaller

#1 The lady’s court papers will paint a very bleak and bad picture of Bosh regardless of facts
#2 Deadbeat dad is a strong phrase and to say no support is also strong
#3 No support could mean that he didn’t spend as much time with HER as she would like.
    # 4 months isn’t long yet it is the baby’s lifetime BUT he is in the middle of an NBA season so it’s kind of hard to be there like a normal dad would be (no excuses just facts)
    # 5 It must sting when you think you are losing out on something you may think you are entitled to

  • Dick Bukake

they should have traded him at the deadline…his time is done in Toronto…

  • Gumdrop

Normally I prefer my comments to be more low keel and sarcastic. But today I’m going to press the capslock button:
THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE COURT DOCUMENTS THAT STATED THAT CHRIS BOSH GAVE NO SUPPORT TO HIS CHILD. IF HE WITHHELD FUNDS ENTIRELY THE DOCUMENTS WOULD HAVE SAID SO.
How much did he give? I don’t know. Maybe it was insufficient. Maybe he could have done more. Maybe his ex is using this as a chance to get more than she needs out of him. Again, I don’t know.
What I do know is that it’s entirely unfair for a bunch of people who don’t know either Chris or Allison, or have inside information on the matter, to trash either of their characters.
Let’s all just calm down and let the facts come out.
