Dave Bing Kindly Asks That You Ignore His Lies

The former Piston already quite amazing at this politics thing: “The former Pistons star told The Associated Press on Wednesday his auto industry work was like having an MBA. Bing has touted the degree while urging athletes to stay in school, but says he didn’t intend to imply he’d earned an MBA in school. Bing also admits he received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Syracuse University in 1995. He previously claimed to have completed school in 1966, but actually was short of credits. On Wednesday, Bing appeared on WWJ and later on WJR-AM in Detroit to discuss a Detroit Free Press report that he made false claims about his education. Radio station WWJ played audio Wednesday morning of Bing saying in the past that he had an MBA from General Motors Institute in Flint, now called Kettering University. Bing then said on air “that is not correct” and added that he didn’t have an MBA from the school. But he continued, ‘I don’t see where that’s a big issue, frankly.’”

    I agree with Dave Bing.
He’s been an active member in the Detroit community for some time. Detroit would be lucky to have him. So he fibbed about an MBA. That doesn’t change much of anything for me.
    Remember…Kwame Kilpatrick???

A Masters from General Motors Institute?

Um, who hasn’t lied to boost their resume for a job? Dave Bing is the best man for the job, period. Honestly, with the city in despair, they should welcome someone like Bing with open arms.

It just proves that there are a million half-wits running around with degrees because they jumped through the right hoops and that you don’t have to have a piece of paper to be an educated man.

TAD, it’s a pretty big deal because politicians have to be trustworthy. To me, it’s even more of a concern to see him lying so freely about things that wouldn’t directly affect his campaign. I have no trouble imagining him lying about things that could actually affect him.

Why not, we ignored Kwames and now were ignoring Obamas, we have room to ignore yours too.

He claimed to have an MBA from my alma mater. He picked the right school to lie about. Only car people in Michigan know about Kettering.

I will never understand why the populous at large is apathetic when politicians lie.

President Clinton lies about sexual escapades. So what? What he does on his own time is his business, we’re told.

President Bush lies about WMD, and we’re told, it’s faulty intelligence.

Dave Bing blatantly lies about his resume, but who cares? Who hasn’t lied on a resume?

Well I, for one, do care. Credibility matters. I need to know that if you say you will do something, you will actually follow through.

Or perhaps our society has completely devalued the importance of keeping one’s word, and we feel guilty judging someone else for the same behavior we engage in regularly.

brgulker. there’s a difference between some on-the-side fellating and matters of genocide, but I digress.
Detroit would be lucky to have Dave Bing. Yes, he shouldn’t have lied. Of course it’s not okay. But the day politicos stop lying is the day the Clips win the ‘chip. (half past never)
Your error might be in relying on politicians to make your life better. tsk tsk!! you must be a young’n!
    Besides, Bing could play.

Damn. I thought Dave Bing was a classy guy, too. Oh well, Derrick Coleman, come on down!

We in Detroit just got done with mayor that lied under oath, and went to jail for it, no more lying politicians here in the D please…unemployment is too high to be screwing around. He’ll probably win too since only 10-15% of voters turn out in the D for elections.
