Jason Kidd in Cleveland Next Year?

Kidd certainly wouldn’t mind: ” This summer Kidd will become an unrestricted free agent and there’s a good chance that the Cavs will again look into his availability. He has said he wants to remain a Maverick, but Sunday he certainly made it seem like playing alongside James in Cleveland was a viable option. ‘I could sit and watch from the bench,’ Kidd said. ‘[LeBron] is so talented, he’s going to get guys wide open shots. So we’ll look at free agency and what happens for me next year.’”

‘[LeBron] is so talented, he’s going to get guys wide open shots. So we’ll look at free agency and what happens for me next year.’”
What Jason DID NOT say was: “But I can’t shoot for sh*t…..look at my career history….better yet….look at how my current squad is struggling to make the playoffs to see how poorly I shoot the ball when left wide open”.

He won’t need to shoot. Running the uptempo offense with Mo Dub spotting up, Lebron running the lanes, Boobie in the corner, Big Z following behind, Varaejo hustling from baseline to baseline.. all he has to do is find one of them

He might not get playing time but his presense and the fact he wants a ring might push him to CLE…

Vets are willing to take pay cuts to play for the Cavs? They have arrived.

  • Prison Mike

I just want them to try that ally-oop from the three point line they tried in the Olympic qualifier that Bron screwed up.

  • RuPaul

What? Do they have a retirement villa in CLE?

If I’m Cleveland, I’m not paying much money for Kidd. I doubt that he will get much playing time competing with Delonte and Mo Williams. He’s just not worth it anymore.

too little too late. should’ve chose cavs over mavs when the oppurtunity first arose. i guess kidd is regretting it now. idiot.

  • thesubwayconnection

I hope he’ll take the minimum and win one like his boy GP.

Cavs should get a low post scorer first. Well, if he’s okay with coming off the bench for 15-20 mins a game. Sure. The Cavs don’t have a back up pg so it would make sense to take JKidd for something like the mid level. / J. Kidd is actually a more than decent shooter when he spots up with his feet set. Those are all the 3pointers he would need to shoot in CLE.

He would be a nice asset to any team. Especially if he can keep shooting like he is now. 41 percent is pretty darn good.

  • a_whiteman

He can’t shoot? How is he above 40% from 3 then???

  • https://twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

Yeah we need to get Bosh first..

  • niQ

. 41 is HORRIBLE percentage! since when was 41% a good thing for anything? from 3pt range its good, but FG% that’s pretty sad.

  • L33tSauce

Bosh won’t go to cleveland. And Kidd has been keeping an eye on L.A. too. I think he’ll take a ring over anything else, and thats more likely in L.A.

Did he just forget about Mo Williams? They got a good thing going with Mo, and I doubt J-Kidd would appreciate playing behind him.

  • https://twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

nah he won’t go to LA, he’d disrupt their great chemistry.

  • RM

What’s Kidd going to do for the Cavs? Like he said himself.. “he’s going to get guys wide open shots..” Kidd can’t hit a broad side of a barn.

Mo Williams plays a lot like a shooting guard, baconator.

@prison mike- what game was that? Oh, and Kidd could ‘try’ and guard someone too. Takes pressure off Bron and West.

  • L33tSauce

Kidd would be good in L.A. he wouldn’t need to take shots, just dish the ball (You guys are talking too much trash on one of the games best PG’s.) I can see a pretty fast paced team with Kidd, Kobe,

  • L33tSauce

Ariza, Odem, and Gasol, with Bynum on the bench. It would be nice. (My bad on the two posts. I didn’t mean to press submit comment)

Jason Kidd doesn’t want to be one of those hall of famers that doesn’t win a championship during his career, so i understand why he wants to go there. he won’t go there though

  • http://www.basketballjerseyworld.com NBA-JERSEY-KING

Kidd should of gone to the Spurs or the Lakers when he had the chance instead of re-signing with the Nets… wouldve had at least 2 c’ship rings now

  • http://www.nba.com/suns Dacre

niQ must be 7 years old…he just said in one breath that 41% is not good for anything…and then goes and says its okay for a 3pt%…?!
We’ve had this discussion every other month about JKidd being a crap 3pt shooter…he has hit 1,400+ threes in his career so he mustn’t be too bad really….
I’d take him. So would the Cavs. Add to that his rebounding and leadership and they could win it next year.

You gotta wonder if Michael Redd is thinking the same thing about shoulda coulda woulda, to Cavalier or not, that is the ?. But he’s locked in to his max deal, player option 2010/11 and they’ve equaled his production by committee among their LeBroninites bench mob.
