LeBron on Playing Alongside D-Wade

by Marcel Mutoni

No one enjoys discussing the summer of 2010 more than its biggest fish: LeBron James. He revels in the added attention it brings him, and loves messing with the press about it.

In town to play against the Nets, James was at it again. The AP reports:

James raised the possibility Sunday of the MVP candidates playing together somewhere after he was asked a question about the friendly rivalry between the U.S. Olympic teammates.

James was asked if he’d prefer they both stay in the same conference, so they could play against each other more often, or end up in different conferences, so they could compete against each other for championships.

“I don’t know, it doesn’t matter,” James said before the Cavaliers’ game against the Nets. “Whatever happens, we’ll go against each other, and maybe we’ll go against each other in practice. I don’t know, that’d be fun, wouldn’t it?”

James, of course, was just kidding around and proving yet again just how pointless this type of speculation is. Which, naturally, will only make things worse going forward. Nice.

LeBron & Wade are too greedy to give up max money. Its silly, because 16-20 MIL per year is pocket change compared to the endorsement deals, buisness networking, and branding that would occur if they were teammates. For a wannabe that wants to be a Billion dollar athlete, you’d think LeBron have more business savvy. Oh wait, his business advisors are childhood friends. Not exactly the sharpest businessmen around.

Ive been saying this since 1987

Pippen is atleast top 30, more like top 25. And Chris Webber was a beast, but for teams that could never make it. Pippen put up those kinda numbers on a title team. No duo beats Jordan and Pippen. Now Wade and Lebron would def top it though…

  • truthteller

If Scottie Pippen in his prime were playing today, he would be the best player in the L. Easy!

  • Rob Wells Jr.

    They’d get championships every year

Terrible idea. Unless they can convonce the league to let them use two basketballs simultaneously during the game.

  • sho nuf

I might give Scottie top 25, I always saw him as more of a 30-35 player to me. whatever, still one of the best small forwards to ever play. Sticking with Magic and Kareem though

Slick Nick Da Ruler , WORD.

yup. imagine the endorsements that they would make TOGETHER.
But, then again, who can afford to pay both WADE and LBJ in an endorsement?

  • L33tSauce

You all don’t take in their competitive factor. Both f them share the ball, both care more about winning than anything. We aren’t talking about Kobe or Amare here.

i’ve been saying this since i was 2 years old…now im 2 and a half

You know what, Lebron & Wade together, if it ever ever happens, could very possibly be the most dangerous duo of ALL TIME. They could definitely give MJ and Pip a run for their money.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

They already proved they can coexist on the Dream Team. I know it’s easy to get giddy on the hyperbole and the hypothetical, but what a prospect.

  • DruWil

I can’t even see that happening in my dream… That would be just too sick.

  • DJR

This is never going to happen. It just wouldn’t be fair, it would be too big. Too much to handle. And to all these people rippin on Pippen, dude played 17 years and averaged 16ppg, 6reb & 5 ast. Compare that to “one of the best all-time” in Dr. J and he was only 22, 6 & 4 – so Pip isn’t that far off. And Pips got 6, just a few more than Julius.

  • larrylegend

never to be happened, maybe in 10years, if lbj tries to make a last run at a first chip;).

  • http://www.twitter.com/mansonovic Andy

You all know LeBron and Dwyane are having a good laugh at the furore they’re causing right now.

  • jay

I like tim and mich…forget mully for a moment.

  • larrylegend

lol, and lbj will move to pf/c as during 2008 bejing?
one of the main reasons, lbj/wade are considered top 5 players is the fact, nba rules are offense friendly…every 2nd drive to the hole would be an offensiv foul for both…

    beast

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

I really get confused by people like Ciolkstar. You do know that they both average over seven assists, right?

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Also, I totally forgot about the Rolls Royce duo (Clyde and the Pearl). I wish I was old enough to see those two play together…

  • Stu

I’m actually surprised that more NBA superstars don’t take less $ and team up with other superstars. If they are all about winning championships why not take less money and join forces and win championships. I’m sure endorsement money they would be getting because they are winning championships would help make up for what they aren’t getting paid by the team. Imagine LeBron staying in Cleveland. Dwyane opting out of his contract and signing with Cleveland. Bring in Joe Johnson to help run the point. Marcus Camby at your 4 and a old but reliable Shaq playing the Center. If they could all swallow their pride and take less money why couldn’t this happen. In todays age though this would never happen. Not with everyone trying to get their money. Nice dream though.

  • CHE

yea and how about throwing melo in the mix. And all live happily ever after..lol This will never happen. Ridunkulous!

  • matt

luckely this is a teamsport and not a 2man show …..
