Sean Williams Isn’t Pleased With the Cell Phone Plan You’re Suggesting

    by Marcel Mutoni

As such, he’s going to shout, grab a computer monitor and smash it.

Sadly, none of the above is fictitious, as the Nets’ Williams was arrested yesterday following an incident at a mall in Denver.

    The Star-Ledger reports:

Nets forward Sean Williams was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief Monday after an altercation with a clerk at a cell phone store in a shopping mall 20 miles south of Denver. The 22-year-old Williams was also charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, according to Detective Sergeant Ron Pinson of the Lone Tree, Col., Police Dept.

The incident occurred at 2 p.m. Monday at the AT&T Mobility store inside the Park Meadows Mall. According to police, Williams had a verbal altercation with the clerk, and picked up a computer monitor and threw it. The monitor and other equipment was broken, causing damages estimated to be about $1,200 to $1,300.

Not to defend Williams’s actions or play devil’s advocate here (OK, maybe a little), but have you any idea how much AT&T charges for their 3G coverage? It’s friggin’ outrageous, man.

It’s not his fault that AT&T sucks.

    • Jake Appleman Posted: Mar.17 at 9:04 am
      That was mostly a joke.

    • Izzo Posted: Mar.17 at 9:07 am
Calls from prison are very cheap.Sean Williams=smart.

    • Jukai Posted: Mar.17 at 9:08 am
To make matters worse, as the computer had JUST LEFT HIS FINGER TIPS, Williams shouted “Kobe!”

    • Justin Posted: Mar.17 at 9:09 am
      Learn how to act dude

    • rav Posted: Mar.17 at 9:12 am

    • TADOne Posted: Mar.17 at 9:14 am
That must have been some good weed.

    • Fred34 Posted: Mar.17 at 9:16 am
This just in: “AT&T is actually surprised when their clients do NOT react this way to their service and services plans”

    • Ryan Jones Posted: Mar.17 at 9:22 am
I was gonna do that, Fred. Damn you.

    • Gerard Himself Posted: Mar.17 at 9:24 am
sigh. The last 5 days have been the worst of the season for the Nets. Losing to the Clippers, Losing to the Warriors, losing Devin Harris and probably losing Williams because he will be suspended. Great, really great.

    • Jukai Posted: Mar.17 at 9:26 am
Gerald: you’re going to have to explain to me how losing Williams effects the Nets in the slightest. Unless they were all planning on getting in on Williams’ fantastic cell phone plan.

    • Fred34 Posted: Mar.17 at 9:36 am
Full disclosure, Ryan twitterscaped me the idea – I pirated it off of snarkyastheywannabe. com

…but I’m very pleased with Marcel Mutoni’s headline writing.

Sean Williams is one of those cats that has always been a headcase but had so much talent that you were willing to put up with it. Not learning the plays, getting in trouble, trying to be a guard… His talent doesn’t stand anymore in the L though so why would an organization put up with his antics. He’s playing for Pau-Orthez in 2 years.

    • Z Posted: Mar.17 at 9:51 am
Sean’s behavior allegedly became aggressive when he found he was unable to purchase an iPhone due to lack of identification. He told an employee, “Your policy may be I need an ID, but my policy is I get what I want when I want”. After destroying an AT&T monitor, he was arrested by the Lone Tree Police Department.

Semi-related, Charlie Villanueva was apparently twittering at halftime of game the other night? Outstanding. It bothers me to even type that stupid word. I just lost all respect for Charlie.

    • ciolkstar Posted: Mar.17 at 10:10 am
This is unbelieveably hilarious… so much for finally getting back into LFrank’s good graces.

    • Rasheedionics Posted: Mar.17 at 10:12 am
Just another episode of when keepin it real goes wrong!

    • TADOne Posted: Mar.17 at 10:21 am
Incidentally, I now see why Boston College banned him from their campus.

    • Russ Bengtson Posted: Mar.17 at 10:40 am
As for ID, he should take a page (the only page?) from the Qyntel Woods handbook and just carry one of his basketball cards.

      He’s Stupid!

    • Dallas J Posted: Mar.17 at 2:27 pm
he just did what any other AT&T customer WANTS to do but isn’t crazy enough. I commend the man.

    • thesubwayconnection Posted: Mar.17 at 3:21 pm
      Russ wins.

    • ciolkstar Posted: Mar.17 at 3:52 pm
Yeah, I do not understand the whole thing with not carrying an ID. I feel like I hear about a lot of atheletes getting pulled over, etc and not having ID. Do they just think that people should know who trey are, so they don’t need it?

    • Don Posted: Mar.17 at 4:07 pm
why can’t he get a prepaid phone?

    • Fat Lever Posted: Mar.17 at 4:46 pm
More bars in more places must mean so much to Sean. From alcohol, to prison(soon enough).

    • BETCATS Posted: Mar.17 at 5:05 pm
even with this, at least nobody is having their ‘cousin’ stick needles up their a$$ in the NBA.

    • Dacre Posted: Mar.17 at 11:18 pm
Surely is wife could afford to get him any phone plan he likes…?

    • CP34MVP Posted: Mar.18 at 12:19 am

    • niQ Posted: Mar.18 at 8:31 am
man, can this guy please stay out of trouble?

    • Justin Posted: Mar.18 at 9:37 am
Why does it seem like African-American males just do not know how to act? I just wish they would be more cofortable with their true self (probably never gonna happen though). Dont act tough, that is not “tough”. All that acting is just like all that sissy-ass bling and stupid outfits, just ttrying to hide the real person. Its ok to be at peace. They should try it.

    • Jay Posted: Mar.18 at 3:41 pm
Technically, he had ID..it just wasn’t valid. Seems like he could have done a whole lot of things worse. AT&T sure is getting a lot of free publicity off of from him. Things are working out pretty well for them.

    • donlaker Posted: Mar.18 at 3:50 pm
@ justin my white verizon rep wouldnt lower the price on my n.b.a. side kik or give me my any time mins back ,and that sh*t got me hot.

This guy is bugging. If you wanna be smart, do what Charlie Villanueva did, post up some tweets. I don’t follow it, but I started to all bcuz of CV. He’s a marketing guru. That was smart. I’m not even a basketball fan like that of Milwaukee, but I sure am now.
