Shaq’s Nickname for Chris Bosh: RuPaul

by Marcel Mutoni

Ouch.

Shaquille O’Neal has invented more nicknames for NBA players (including himself) than perhaps anyone else in League history, but he took things to a whole new level when addressing the Raptors’ star forward, Chris Bosh.

Bosh complained after O’Neal gave the Raptors 45 on Friday night, claiming the Suns’ center was camping in the lane for much of the night. You just knew that Shaq would have a stinging comeback, and boy did he ever.

From the Arizona Republic:

“I heard what Chris Bosh said, and that’s strong words coming from the RuPaul of big men,” O’Neal said. “I’m going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before – make him quit. Make ‘em quit and complain. It’s what I do.”

Damn, as if Bosh wasn’t already having a bad enough year.

Shaq is back to his old dominating, swaggering self. After destroying the Raptors’ front line, he abused the Lakers yesterday in an impressive Phoenix victory.

Here’s to hoping The Diesel has a little more left in the ol’ tank; the League still needs him and his endless comedy.

    Work it girl!

  • TADOne Posted: Mar.2 at 11:12 am
You may now go sit in the corner with your dunce cap on, Bosh.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.2 at 11:13 am
There’s no coming back from that. Shaq’s labels are quite Sharpie Marker-like. Rain Sleet Snow, Bosh is Rupaul now.

  • shink Posted: Mar.2 at 11:14 am
When Shaq retires they better get him in the studio or do the play-by-plays somewhere.

  • Mo Charlo Posted: Mar.2 at 11:19 am
This is what happens when you criticize Shaq. Remember, Shaq will always have more microphones around him than you.

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.2 at 11:20 am
Wow. Damn, he called him a cross dresser.
Damn, that’s just cold blooded. Somebody has to start taking shots at Shaq, some player has to grow some balls or something.

  • Andy Posted: Mar.2 at 11:20 am
And Shaq officially becomes my favourite player in the L.

  • BETCATS Posted: Mar.2 at 11:26 am
Allen who is gonna do it and survive? Shaq is just too much

  • Cheryl Posted: Mar.2 at 11:26 am
Always been appreciative of Shaq’s comedy. But, Like Prof. Jones said, he’s always funnier when he’s on top of his game.

  • Z Posted: Mar.2 at 11:30 am
OMG. How do you respond to THAT? Bosh can’t just sweep that under the rug, the Raps already have a rap of softies…

  • mat smith Posted: Mar.2 at 11:34 am
Shaq is so funny, and its knew not new Marcel

  • Randy Brown Posted: Mar.2 at 11:36 am
Shaq should learn that you don’t disrespect players better than you, attention-hungry MFer

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Mar.2 at 11:37 am
    Not better. Younger.

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Mar.2 at 11:44 am
    Shaq is still that dude!

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.2 at 11:47 am
    Bosh’s girl better say something!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Phil B Posted: Mar.2 at 11:51 am
“It’s what I do. I’ve been doing it since 1992. If you don’t believe it, Google me.”

  • Darksaber Posted: Mar.2 at 12:03 pm
Buh Bye Bosh, welcome back Ru Paul. If this nickname doesn’t stick, especially on slamonline, i’d be surprised.

  • Cordeazy Posted: Mar.2 at 12:05 pm
It’s like bringin a knife to a gunfight, pen to a test.Your chest in the line of fire witcha thin-ass vest. You bringin them Boyz II Men, HOW them boys gon’ win?

  • Sebastian B. O. Bunionstow, esq. Posted: Mar.2 at 12:08 pm
Move over Sir Charles, Shaq has a future after ballin’

  • Sebastian B. O. Bunionstow, esq. Posted: Mar.2 at 12:09 pm
BTW I like Bosh, but the bitchin’ moanin’ thang ain’t working no how.

  • riggs Posted: Mar.2 at 12:10 pm
aww man i thought hed call him a dinosaur of some sort….oh well rupaul it is

  • Cordeazy Posted: Mar.2 at 12:10 pm
Do not bark up that tree, that tree will fall on you
I don’t know why your advisors ain’t forewarn you

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.2 at 12:11 pm
    I’m torn about this insult.
On one hand, it’s just outstanding. Considering Bosh’s reputation for being soft, this is the perfect insult to lob at him. This cuts to the core.
However, Shaq compared him to a cross dresser. Shaq has a habit of questioning the manhood of other men. He did the same thing with Eric Dampier, David Robinson and even Kobe. This is a habit with him. Plus, Bosh didn’t say anything about Shaq, he complained about the refs letting him camp in the lane. Shaq didn’t even need to respond to that.
I really wish Duncan or Kobe would start killing Shaq. Particularly Duncan. they are the only two players who have the current and career stature to challenge Shaq and call him out on being wrong for this. Nobody else can say much because he’ll just pull the “I’m the MDE and I have four rings.” Only Duncan and Kobe can respond to this.

  • Anton Posted: Mar.2 at 12:14 pm
Bosh’s girl better get some hair transplants

  • Z Posted: Mar.2 at 12:17 pm
    1) Kobe doesn’t want his name linked to Shaq anymore. You can see how uneasy he is with the new lovefest. He’s just ready to move on. The guy called him out at the beginning of last summer. Quite frankly, if I were Kobe… I’m not even sure I’d pretend that we’re cool. The media seems to forget that Shaq dissed him like 8 months ago!
    2) Duncan could. However, I can’t imagine caring about that kind of stuff.

  • Darksaber Posted: Mar.2 at 12:18 pm
Or Bosh could just muster one hell of a game the next time they meet (like the kind he regularly had in Nov/Dec.?). No need for media bullcrap, just show him on the court CB.

  • riggs Posted: Mar.2 at 12:20 pm
@Allenp: i think its too late for duncan, shaq has high regards for him and called him one the greatest PF’s in nba history ( im paraphrasing ) or something close to that, and duncan regards him that high as well, with all that ass-kissing aint much room left for critique. now kobe on the other hand…

  • a_whiteman Posted: Mar.2 at 12:22 pm
Bosh is a little soft, but its not his fault his “center” softer then him. Shaq sonned bargs on friday, hopefully colangelo realizes they need to address the lack of tough bigs this summer

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Mar.2 at 12:23 pm
I think Shaq just says dumb stuff without thinking. It was a pretty classless move and Bosh definitely deserves more respect. He’s been nothing but a warrior and team player since he got in the league and has stuck it out in a situation that some players (Rhymes with Toby Cryant)would cry like babies about. But he’s Shaq. He can say what he wants. Bosh got dissed by the alpha-male.

  • Z Posted: Mar.2 at 12:25 pm
I think Shaq just says dumb stuff without thinking. 12:23p
I beg to differ. Everything that Shaq says seems to be calculated.

  • Darksaber Posted: Mar.2 at 12:25 pm
    Toby Cryant. fantastic!

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Mar.2 at 12:30 pm
@ Z – Yeah even Shaq’s bad 90′s freestyles are calculated. Calculated to what? Sound like a d***?

  • BostonBaller Posted: Mar.2 at 12:33 pm
That was some funny stuff. I think what Shaq meant was that Bosh should MAN up and stand his ground. RuPaul seemed harsh yet appropiate since some nights Bosh plays like a man and others he plays like a woman. Not a WNBA woman b/c some of them are tougher than Bosh on some nights. At the start of the season Bosh was riding high off the Olympic success (he played well there)then evened off.

  • Joel O's Posted: Mar.2 at 12:41 pm
Wow. I love Chris Bosh, but this is hilarious. And it’s gonna stick, too. Just… wow.

  • Khalid Salaam Posted: Mar.2 at 1:05 pm
Shaq is the funniest athlete any of us has ever known.

  • Cordeazy Posted: Mar.2 at 1:09 pm
no a** taste jokes? I didn’t want to be the one to point this out, but if there was a more appropriate time for one I’d like to know.

  • Kihwan Posted: Mar.2 at 1:10 pm
The PHX bigs must have something against Bosh. Earlier this year, Stat was on a local radio station in PHX and was asked who he thought the most overrated player in the league was. His answer? Chris Bosh.

  • Cizzo Posted: Mar.2 at 1:11 pm
Don’t worry Chris Shaq will be running on unleaded shortly him and the Sun’s are suspect!!!

  • Cordeazy Posted: Mar.2 at 1:13 pm
i’m just sayin, no one’s interested in certain inquiries shaq may have fictiously made to CB about the what certain body parts do for his taste buds? just met? yes? ok.

  • niQ Posted: Mar.2 at 1:14 pm
    what is a RuPaul?

  • Adrian Posted: Mar.2 at 1:27 pm
Hmmm. give up shaq? Just like you did on Miami and Orlando?

  • Joe Posted: Mar.2 at 1:36 pm
If Bosh is Ru Paul of Big Men, What does that make Amar’e “I-want-to-be-a-beast-again, so-the-next-game-i-take-nothing-but-15-foot-jumpers, i-dont-have-a-post-game-at-all, i-want-to-be-the-man, but-not -the-defensive-man-of-the-year” Stoudemire?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Mar.2 at 1:39 pm
Shaq outweighs Bosh by 200 pounds, and Bosh probably had a legit complaint. The World’s Biggest Five-Year-Old can certainly get tiresome sometimes. Is he funny? Yes. But taking decidedly personal shots at guys has gotten way old.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Mar.2 at 1:41 pm
Not to mention, way to date yourself, Shaq. RuPaul hasn’t been relevant in what, a decade?

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.2 at 1:41 pm
RuPaul knows how Shaq’s @ss tastes.

  • Mo Charlo Posted: Mar.2 at 1:44 pm
    Allenp for the win.

  • Count It Posted: Mar.2 at 1:52 pm
Does this mean Bosh’s rep is on the line?
Shaq came with a strong statement, so I figured that Bosh’s reputation (if he had one) is somewhat ruined. I think Bosh now has to come out and drop 50 points, grab 20 or so rebounds, dish out 7-8 assist, 5 blocks, and 1-2 steals to get some respect back. Even than, Bosh might live the rest of his career out as the “RuPaul.” Damn, Diesal why you gotta Hate?

  • Cordeazy Posted: Mar.2 at 1:53 pm
    thanks allenP

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.2 at 2:01 pm
    My pleasure.

  • Cordeazy Posted: Mar.2 at 2:08 pm
@ Russ. Old? when does this get old? never! Personal shots are always in vogue

  • Zee! Posted: Mar.2 at 2:25 pm
    That’s what it is.

  • malanacream Posted: Mar.2 at 2:40 pm
Randy Brown dont make me laugh, Bosh better than Shaq? I can’t even compare… Look what shaq did and what he does… Nobody can stop the famous shaq attack…

  • Candice Posted: Mar.2 at 2:44 pm
I’m not a Shaq fan but this was funny.

  • donlaker Posted: Mar.2 at 2:50 pm
both of them wear makeup: shaq go baq to your roots you supermodel (rupaul records)

  • N Dizzle Posted: Mar.2 at 2:52 pm
I always though CB4 looked like an actual Raptor but Rupaul??? Shaqtus is damn crazy!!!

  • Josh D Posted: Mar.2 at 3:11 pm
Bosh isn’t having a bad year, his team are, this is his best year so far

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 4:08 pm
The funny thing is, Bosh is RIGHT. Shaq camped the entire game and the refs let him get away with offensive fouls (just like his entire career).
And by the way, Shaq wasn’t playing against any CENTERS. Bargnani and Bosh aren’t centers… I’d like to see Shaq make fun of Yao Ming or Dwight Howard.
    Bosh > Shaq

  • Izzo Posted: Mar.2 at 4:20 pm
    RuPaul’s real name is Lucifer…..

  • EC Posted: Mar.2 at 4:27 pm
Bosh is a cross-dressing raptor, Im pretty sure shaq can still hold his own against Yao (im 7’6 and still get pushed around by small forwards and miss multiple uncontested dunks) Ming, and Dwight (i have even less finesse than Shaq) Howard

  • SLAM ONLINE | Posted: Mar.2 at 4:54 pm
[...] Shaq Ethers Chris Bosh [...]

  • aristides Posted: Mar.2 at 5:06 pm
    your coments are so funny

  • BETCATS Posted: Mar.2 at 5:08 pm
since nobody said it: I think Shaq is only ‘cool’ with Kobe because he wants to retire as 2 things A Laker and a Champion. I think he is having a great year in order to show he can still play so the Lakers will sign him. Obviously, i dont think Kobe will allow it. He is too busy a$$ tasting to do any reuniting.

  • iLL wiLL Posted: Mar.2 at 5:12 pm
Damn. Snaq just put the hurt on CB4.

  • Ben Posted: Mar.2 at 5:17 pm
Shaq should stick with what works, sitting in the key and dunking the ball. (because we all know thats all he’s good for).

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Mar.2 at 5:43 pm
If Chris Bosh is Rupaul then Shaq is Madea.

  • J-Bird Posted: Mar.2 at 6:08 pm
Ha Ha!! Chris just got dumped on by the big De Leon

  • KozmicKid Posted: Mar.2 at 6:10 pm
The Big Legendary has come to hunt you RuPaul…

  • Dacre Posted: Mar.2 at 6:18 pm
Shaqs back because the refs are back (the way they let him play in LAL and ORL..as opposed to the MIA days. Great nicname… did anyone see the post I put up about Cory Magette’s nic name…?

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 6:19 pm
@ EC: You’re so stupid its not even funny. And you’re lame. Yao Ming and Dwight Howard are clearly the 2 best centers in the league, without having the benefit of being able to commit offensive fouls every time they get the ball. Shaq is becoming a punk who likes to pick on players smaller than him. That’s why he can’t mess with those two aforementioned centers.
Right now, Chris Bosh > Shaq
    Thank you and good afternoon.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 6:23 pm
We’ll see how funny Shaq is once the Suns miss the playoffs.
Decent refs + (Shaq – Offensive foul) = 1 ring (that ring being because of Dwade)

  • Diesel Posted: Mar.2 at 6:26 pm
http://www.cantstopthebleeding.com/img/chrisBosh.jpg More evidence backing up Shaq’a claims.

  • toomuch Posted: Mar.2 at 6:27 pm
Hi my name is,who…? my name is, who…..? my name is chirp chirp per chirp RuPaul????. Damn,
Shaq just Superman stickered Chris Bosh on the backboard hall of shame. The entire leauge will look at the Raptors as we all did in their first offical season, when Brendan was coaching them. FAKE (Will the real Rupaul… Please stand up. Please stand up.)

  • MalevolentKing7242 Posted: Mar.2 at 6:47 pm
Shaq is so funny. I hope he retires with one more ring

  • toomuch Posted: Mar.2 at 7:02 pm
Shaq went all in…..(45pts.) Chris Bosh called with ( Refs and the camping in the lane) Shaq showed his hand…two pair of heels and a wig. Chris Bosh folded.
We will await the next match in no shaq-limit hold’em.

  • dma Posted: Mar.2 at 7:04 pm
@ Teddy at least the Suns have a chance at the playoffs. The Raptors haven’t been relevant since last year. That’s another thing about Bosh. The great players wouldn’t let their teams be crap. Great player Bosh is not. I’ve never liked Bosh’s game and I never will.

  • Witness Posted: Mar.2 at 7:22 pm
i think Bosh gave up on the season. his team is pretty soft. because as opposed to the other gold medal winners with the exception of prince and redd, their teams are all having good seasons.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 7:38 pm
@ dma: What does that have to do with anything? The Suns are bad compared to what they were just last year and their main addition? SHAQ.
I’m not saying Chris Bosh is hall-of-famer (he’s still got years to go in this league), but right now he’s undoubtedly better than Shaq.
Also, according to you I guess Paul Pierce isn’t a “great” player? Because when Paulie had no help just 2 seasons ago, the Celtics played maybe worse than the Raptors now.
    Case and point.

  • Witness Posted: Mar.2 at 8:06 pm
good point teddy. but shaq is still a force to reckon with. he demands more attention from the defense than bosh.

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Mar.2 at 8:35 pm
Shaq is the MDE, greatest Center of all time, and second to Mike. Quite frankly, he can say what he wants so long as he’s earnin his pay, and since he’s outplayed both Amare and Nash this year, I think it gives him that right.

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Mar.2 at 8:36 pm
Plus, 3 seconds or not, the Raptors should have kept three guys on him at all times like the Suns did a couple of years ago when D-Wade was injured. Is anyone on the Suns that much better than Eddie Jones, Rasual Butler, and Damon Jones from that year?

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Mar.2 at 8:44 pm
Shaq’s not the MDE, he’s not the greatest center of all time, and he’s certainly not second to Mike in anything. Other than that, though, spot-on analysis.

  • Harlem_World Posted: Mar.2 at 8:44 pm
I’m laughing at the shaq-hate right now…To paraphrase, Bosh needs to MAN UP. He’s lighter than Shaq? Well exploit that with quickness and hit him up for 50. Bosh is SOFT. Accept it. He’s skilled, but he is soft. It’s light-hearted HUMOR people. The reason its funny is because there is an element of truth in the joke, Bosh IS soft. Russ, I would have thought you’d appreciate Shaq not shoot him down for this. Shaq = a better NBA and more to report on. Y’all miss him when he’s gone. AllenP, why would anyone else get in this? We’re playing pick up and you start calling me out and I’m looking for another player to come back at you? That goes against everything sacred about the beautiful game. You come at me, I got to come right back at you – not look for another player ON ANOTHER TEAM to fight my battles. You know better than that.

  • Harlem_World Posted: Mar.2 at 8:47 pm
Shaq is WAY higher on the greatest at his position than Bosh will ever be. And just for kicks, Russ, where would you rank Shaq amongst all-time centers?

  • Witness Posted: Mar.2 at 9:06 pm
ok… i dont think bosh meant shaq is a cheater and hes been doing that his whole career. he could have possibly cheated and i dont think bosh said i can do so and so if i got to cheat like shaq did and has been doing. so what is the fuss about?

  • godzilla Posted: Mar.2 at 9:24 pm
    BAWSE!!!

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.2 at 9:37 pm
The problem with the Bosh, Nowitzki style 7 footers, is that you need another 7 footer in your line up to cover the stuff that 7 footers are supposed to do, like bang on the block offensively and change or block shots defensively. 7 footers like Shaq, Ewing, Hakeem, Drob, Duncan give you that while Bosh gives you a silky touch.
Tough 7 footers are proven, silky ones aren’t.

  • J-Bird Posted: Mar.2 at 9:41 pm
    Russ hates Shaq

  • Witness Posted: Mar.2 at 9:44 pm
@ jaymes: i agree. but isnt that what jermaine was supposed to bring? i think they need a capable shooting guard. i like what bargnani has done this season so far. maybe next season when they draft thabeet.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 9:49 pm
    Co-Sign Russ 8:44 pm.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 9:52 pm
@ Harlem_World: Uhhh Shaq is not better than Wilt the Stilt.

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.2 at 9:59 pm
Yeah witness, true indeed, but my point is Bosh at 7 feet, should be the guy doing the banging, they shouldn’t neeed to bring in anyone. Fair enough he can’t contain someone shaq’s size defensively, but he should be tearing the hoop down at the other end!
It’s proven, big men need to dominate the paint, and if they’re good enough (Hakeem, Ewing, DRob) the mid range too, not JUST the mid range like CB4.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 10:03 pm
Co-Sign jaymes. But also remember, Bosh is NOT a center and he’s NOT a 7 footer. He’s a finesse power forward, if you call it that way. Also, his rebounding is pretty decent, but I agree he doesn’t own the paint like Ewing did, obviously.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.2 at 10:04 pm
But really, we can’t compare Bosh to those hall of famers just yet.

  • Peach B. Posted: Mar.2 at 10:05 pm
Shaq should really grow up. This was classless. There’s no other word for it. Dude has two good games and all of a sudden he’s acting out. This might be more tasteless than his “tell me how my ass taste” rant.

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.2 at 10:11 pm
True Teddy, he is a finesse man, Shaq’s knock on him, though light hearted, is pretty spot on though..And personally, i prefer the 7 foot (or 6’10 +) guys to be bangers, not shooters. I admire the skill, but there is 3 or 4 other guys for that. He needs to build some cred on the block, before relying on his J for offense.
    Just my opinion……

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.2 at 10:16 pm
Peachb, he’s had alot more than 2 good games this year. And his squad was plenty understrength against Toronto.
And it was just a light crack in response to Bosh’s stab…

  • rick Posted: Mar.2 at 10:28 pm
Next time Shaq comes to Toronto we will start calling him Dumbo the Elephant. He is an elephant with a basketball. Thats all.

  • Harlem_World Posted: Mar.2 at 10:53 pm
Teddy, I never said Shaq was the best center ever, I said he was ONE of the best to ever do it at his position – which is more than will be said of Bosh when its all said and done.

  • Harlem_World Posted: Mar.2 at 10:54 pm
You can’t compare Shaq to Bosh.

  • Harlem_World Posted: Mar.2 at 10:55 pm
And Teddy, I said he was ONE of the best to ever do it at his position, not the best. But that’s more than will ever be said of Bosh when its all said and done.

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Mar.2 at 11:14 pm
Peach B’s right on point. There was a SLAM article that said Bosh is like a cross between Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan and I think I agree. He’s a Scottie Pippen, not an MJ. Bosh will have the last laugh. Shaq’s a slave to his own ego but…he is the alpha male. He didn’t have to say it, he shouldn’t have said it, but he can say it because he’s Shaq. The Rupaul comment says waaay more about Shaq’s character than it does about Bosh.

  • Beth Posted: Mar.2 at 11:16 pm
I almost died when I heard this
    LMAO!
    No comment though…

  • James aka... Posted: Mar.2 at 11:22 pm
The thing this incident reminds me of was when shaq got called out by bill walton for dogging it in miami, and trashed Walton in the press for catching him out there. There is a lot to like about shaq, but there is a lot to dislike as well, and this is the latter. Bosh complains about the reffing concerning an aspect of the game and instead of pointing out where the raptors were getting away with something else, or who bosh gets to shoot 10 freebies a game, shaq goes for a personal insult, the clarion call of a debate coward. Shaq is a 37 year old 2nd grader when it comes to dealing with conflict and other adults.

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.2 at 11:23 pm
Rubbish doyouwantmore, this ain’t about Shaq, he responded to a criticism by Bosh and burnt him in the process. If bosh had any sense he shuts up and concentrates on winning, not whining. Shaq has won 4 rings and dominated at his position for 16 seasons. Bosh is a skilled big man, who has ability but has yet to prove himself a winner. Someone said it earlier on, Bosh should worry about trying to beat Shaq on the court, not in the media…. At the moment Shaq has him covered on both fronts.

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.2 at 11:25 pm
Ya’ll kidding with the Shaq hating, Bosh got got..Beaten in every way!

  • Witness Posted: Mar.2 at 11:29 pm
lets see how bosh responds to yao and the rockets tomorrow. i feel like bosh is the new kg, when it comes to bein an emotional and explosive player on a sorry team. but shaq shouldnt have said anything. again bosh didnt call shaq a cheater. he blamed the refs. he didnt call out shaq whatsoever.

  • Z Posted: Mar.2 at 11:44 pm
Russ does have a point though, Shaq has slowly instilled that MDE thing on all of us. What does that even mean? See, he didn’t say he was the best of all time… that would just be false. but the most dominant… what are the criteria? Why is he more dominant than MJ? Because he’s a power player? Then how is he more dominant than Wilt or Kareem? Not to mention that Dream schooled his ass in the Finals..

  • reptdot Posted: Mar.2 at 11:47 pm
hopefully bosh responds by stepping his game up

  • Peach B. Posted: Mar.3 at 12:35 am
Jaymes, I wouldn’t be criticizing Shaq if he had in fact been called out by Bosh. What Bosh was whining about was the REFS, not Shaq. But Shaq responded with a personal attack. Guilty conscience? Immaturity? A combination of the two? Call him soft, call him a whiner but don’t refer to him as a cross dresser. That’s all I’m saying.

  • asian lover Posted: Mar.3 at 1:01 am
    what does rupaul mean?

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.3 at 1:10 am
Fair nuff, probably a bit immature..Still funny.

  • knick Posted: Mar.3 at 2:18 am
Funniest comments in a long time. I hated Shaq his entire career for his grotesque game, but he sure is a great entertainer, and just look at how he brings the “best” out of all of you too. He should never retire. Barkley, Shaq and Sheed on TNT!

Dream schooled him, Z? Not really. Shaq’s (and Penny’s) were big that series. The rest of the team failed to step up. Besides, that’s like saying Robert Parish schools Hakeem in his first Finals (which was his 2nd or 3rd year in the league, much like Shaq when he played Dream, although in Shaq’s case, he went against his idol whereas Dream was pretty vocal of his lack of respect for the “Boston Celtic mystique.”) And Shaq IS the M.D.E. and the best Center to ever do it. 2nd to Mike, no matter what Russ says.

  • jay Posted: Mar.3 at 2:38 am
As funny as it may be, but its not justified. Not only is it embarassing and insulting for Bosh, but there really is’nt a comeback. It was another story if dude was personally attacking Shaq, but this is uncalled for. Grown men dont pull that ish.

  • mat smith Posted: Mar.3 at 8:24 am
they were not bad calls, what are the rules to call contact on Shaq? should he be allowed less contact than say a Shawn Marion or Tayshaun because they weigh less, its a difficult job for the refs because he is of unprecidented size, because he is so strong should no contact be allowed? or do they let him impose himself in the same weight to size ratio of Nate Robinson? Bosh is going to use that excuse because he plays like a fanny.

  • Harlem_World Posted: Mar.3 at 10:25 am
OK, let’s not get out of pocket. Shaq is one of the top 5 centers all time, but most dominant ever? That’s just foolish talk. Jordan, Wilt, Russell, Magic and most likely Kareem and possibly Bird, Hakeem and Duncan all have had more dominant careers than Shaq. How many regular season MVP’s has he won? Granted, he was robbed of at least one, but the fact remains, you have to dominate your era with rings and MVP’s to get into that category. But this shouldn’t even be in any post related to Bosh, because he is nowhere near this level of conversation.

Bullies need to be handled. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve developed a dislike for people who prey on the weak. So, while your logic about each man fighting his own battles makes some sense, in another way Shaq is picking on cats he knows can’t really come back at him hard.
I don’t respect that. Shaq has a well documented history of picking with folks. That’s not cool. That’s bully behavior. Everybody laughs with him, me included, but he’s really a large bully who is also a primadonna.

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.3 at 11:23 am
    Young Chris
If you watched the Finals, you know that Dream schooled the Magic. I can’t say he schooled Shaq because Shaq didn’t guard him because he would have fouled out. Dream mainly abused Horace Grant, but Shaq got his issue when he stepped up a few times.
Also, Hakeem put up like 20 and 10 when the Rockets met the Celtics in the Finals. The problem that series was Ralph Sampson, not Dream.
    Just the facts folks.

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.3 at 11:25 am
Wilt dominated the league more than Shaq. If you’re going by stats, Wilt has everybody beat and their is nobody even close. Shoot, Duncan has been just as dominant as Shaq with less talent. Shaq has been dominant. He forces team’s to adjust their entire defensive schemes, but Most Dominant Ever is going too far. Oscar Roberton, Wilt and Jordan would like to have a talk with all of you.

  • Garrisonsama Posted: Mar.3 at 12:10 pm
bosh is right , shaq is camping out in the lane and no one seems to care just check out the last game with the lakers . he spent most of his time just standing in the paint

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Mar.3 at 12:12 pm
Different eras. Shaq dominated against Hakeem, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Dikembe Mutombo, Yao Ming… Shaq played in the land of giants, whereas Wilt didn’t. Who was Wilt’s biggest challenge? A man who stood 6’9″ and found far more success. Plus, Wilt only won 2 rings whereas his main competition won 11. I think that cancels him and his singular accolades out just a little. Shaq > Wilt.

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Mar.3 at 12:13 pm
And I believe Shaq’s numbers in his first Finals were better than those you mentioned of Dream’s, so you just proved my point Allen.

  • nick Posted: Mar.3 at 12:25 pm
Young Chris, you have showed your youth. Shaq did not, ever, dominate Hakeem. That is all.

  • mat smith Posted: Mar.3 at 12:43 pm
Allenp, he is SUPPOSED to bully, it is a sport not school, he is meant to want to win by any means, it is not Shaq’s job to make the ref’s calls. Shaq’s entire reason to still play is to prey on the weak, Duh. This isnt dancing with the stars, its the NBA….

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.3 at 12:47 pm
Chris, I can’t verify the info about what Hakeem put up in 1985 compared to what Shaq put up in 1995, so I can’t refute that comment. However, your assertion that O’Neal “dominated” more that Wilt is purely subjective.
The fact that Wilt “dominated” the league statistically is undisputed. It does not matter what his comp looked like, whoever they were, he was an unstoppable force among them. That he lost to Bill Russell is not proof that he didn’t dominate, it’s only proof that Russell had a better team.
    Just faulty logic homie.

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.3 at 12:49 pm

I agree that on the court, you do what you have to do.
But, this is off the court. Shaq doesn’t have to be nice to Chris Bosh on the court, but off the court calling him “RuPaul” is a bit much, in my opinion.
Personal attacks on other people’s manhood are juvenile. More importantly, when you only attack people who you view as “beneath” you, then I think you’re a bully.
But, I can understand the folks who think that all is fair when it comes to the game. I used to think like that too.

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Mar.3 at 1:01 pm
Jaymes I just said Bosh is a good player and Shaq crossed the line with the comment. Bosh had a point about Shaq camping in the lane but yes, CB4 should just shut up and take it out on the court. The thing is anyone who plays knows that your emotions spill over after a tough loss sometimes. Big deal. Shaq could have let it go. Shaq could have called Bosh ‘soft’ and it would have been a good burn. But he insulted a franchise players manhood and compared him to a DRAG QUEEN. It ain’t the same thing AT ALL. Like I said, Shaq has earned the right to be as stupid and classless as he wants. He won’t lose endorsements or his place in the hall of fame. But he did lose respect from a lot of people. I’ll say it again. The ‘Rupaul’ comment says a lot more about Shaq’s character than it does about CB4′s value as a basketball player.

  • Lz - Cphfinest3 Posted: Mar.3 at 1:34 pm
Between the hair and the softness I think RuPaul is pretty spot on.

  • Allenp Posted: Mar.3 at 2:21 pm
    LZ
That’s it was both funny and cold-blooded.
And isn’t funny that Bosh has locs, a style that in my city has become synonmous with thugs, yet he still looks kind of soft?
    What is up with that?

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Mar.3 at 2:26 pm
Where’s Khalid at? He’ll school y’all doubters… And once Shaq went to the Lakers, he used to beast Hakeem. For those who claim Dream was washed up. remember Shaq was Bynum’s age when he lost to him in the Finals.

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.3 at 2:30 pm
I can’t believe what i keep hearing here..Bosh gets dominated, cries about it, then Shaq has a pop at him and he’s a bully? This is getting soft. Shaq isn’t the big bad bully of the league like ya’ll making him out to be, it’s just that everyone started catching feelings ’cause he carved up a soft big man for whining like the soft big man he is…Man up ya’ll..Bosh’s whine was a crack at Shaq’s game so Shaq responded, just because he did a better job of it your all on his back..Please..

  • J-Bird Posted: Mar.3 at 2:54 pm

  • Dale Wittig Posted: Mar.3 at 3:32 pm
If Chris Bosch is RuPaul then Shaq must be Divine, munching on poodle droppings.

  • J-Bird Posted: Mar.3 at 3:57 pm
If I knew who Bosch was then I could respond

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.3 at 4:21 pm
If Bosh didn’t like it, then he shouldn’t be a “finesse power forward” anymore. Finesse Power Forward?! Sigh, the game has changed so much.

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Mar.3 at 4:44 pm
Wilt went for 50 a game. And 20+ boards. I don’t care if he was playing against sock puppets. He dominated so bad….so bad. There’s nothing else to say. It would be like if a 8 foot tall championship high jumper came into the league and dunked on everyone. Shaq’s tongue would be so far up Wilt’s behind that he’d be tongue kissing him.

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Mar.3 at 4:47 pm
Kevin McHale recently laughed off an ‘altercation’ in one of his games and said (paraphrasing) we should look back thirty years and we’d know what an ‘altercation’ really is. These silly back and forths in the media…Calvin Murphy’s baton twirling ass would knock both those dudes out. Know your history, handle your business, and stop crying to the media, you league of RuPauls!!!!

  • Ben Posted: Mar.3 at 4:57 pm
J-bird first learn how to spell his name then look at the scoring leaders I beleive Bosh (thats how to spell his name)is 9th in the leaque in points, while Shaq is 34th in the leaque. On top of that Bosh is also 9th in the leaque in rebounds while Shaq is 14th. There we have it compare as we dare Bosh stats are much better then Shaq (but we all knew that).

  • jaymes Posted: Mar.3 at 6:30 pm
Ben it’s unfair to compare Bosh to Shaq. One is 25 one is 37. One plays 38 mpg one plays 30.
    But if you must, this comparrison is a little more fair;
    Shaq at 25 yrs old: 29.3 ppg at 60%, 13 boards and 3 blocks..Bosh?

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Mar.3 at 7:08 pm
Shaq would beast Wilt out. Until a time machine is created, it will never be witnessed, BUT it would happen!

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Mar.3 at 7:57 pm
    You can’t compare players.
Only dominance in their era. Obviously Shaq would own George Mikan…but Mikan moved the game along.
The MDE is Wilt. Can any hoop historian deny this? There’s no debating it. And Russell’s the greatest winner. And Jordan is the best thing to happen to the league. And so on…

  • John Posted: Mar.3 at 9:26 pm
Shaq can say whatever he wants but bosh can hit a free throw when shaq has trouble hitting the rim!!!

  • KA Posted: Mar.3 at 11:53 pm
ima go with allenp. even knowing shaqs douchebaggery this is a new low for him. id think bosh would just laugh it off tho. he seems the type of cool guy. and its not bosh fault he had to open his mouth. this is one of those times where the coach is supposed to throw his weight around. bosh was just doing wats rite!

    WHAT IS A RUPAUL???

  • adam Posted: Mar.4 at 2:51 pm
I cant figure out who this is…, somebodyu please… any true baskebtla fan would know…. !!! !ahhh ” Years ago, I heard about a short little shooter (whose name is not important) heading into the 10th grade. I went to watch him play at a basketball camp that featured nothing but top-rated players, 16 and under. Most observers thought he’d be overwhelmed by the talent. He played well in his first game, but his team trailed by 9 with 50 seconds to go. However, he then made three consecutive 3-pointers, plus a steal, and suddenly the game was tied. We all stood slack-jawed at what had just happened. But the player acted as if he expected that ending. Two years later, he led the nation in scoring (50 ppg) and was a McDonald’s All-American. Two years after that, as a college soph, he was a starter in the NCAA title game. The kid was easy to write off, but he just kept coming, because he knew he had “it.” Those of us who saw that last-minute performance knew he’d end up being a difference-maker.

Nobody cares about your blog, Greg. Stop fishing for hits. Shaq is an overrated loudmouth. Look at his whine about Howard, Van Gundy and Ewing now that there’s a better, stronger big man in the league and Shaq can’t handle him.
