Shaq’s Nickname for Chris Bosh: RuPaul

Ouch.

Shaquille O’Neal has invented more nicknames for NBA players (including himself) than perhaps anyone else in League history, but he took things to a whole new level when addressing the Raptors’ star forward, Chris Bosh.

Bosh complained after O’Neal gave the Raptors 45 on Friday night, claiming the Suns’ center was camping in the lane for much of the night. You just knew that Shaq would have a stinging comeback, and boy did he ever.

From the Arizona Republic:

“I heard what Chris Bosh said, and that’s strong words coming from the RuPaul of big men,” O’Neal said. “I’m going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before – make him quit. Make ‘em quit and complain. It’s what I do.”

Damn, as if Bosh wasn’t already having a bad enough year.

Shaq is back to his old dominating, swaggering self. After destroying the Raptors’ front line, he abused the Lakers yesterday in an impressive Phoenix victory.

Here’s to hoping The Diesel has a little more left in the ol’ tank; the League still needs him and his endless comedy.

    The funny thing is, Bosh is RIGHT. Shaq camped the entire game and the refs let him get away with offensive fouls (just like his entire career).
    And by the way, Shaq wasn’t playing against any CENTERS. Bargnani and Bosh aren’t centers… I’d like to see Shaq make fun of Yao Ming or Dwight Howard.

    Bosh is a cross-dressing raptor, Im pretty sure shaq can still hold his own against Yao (im 7’6 and still get pushed around by small forwards and miss multiple uncontested dunks) Ming, and Dwight (i have even less finesse than Shaq) Howard

    since nobody said it: I think Shaq is only ‘cool’ with Kobe because he wants to retire as 2 things A Laker and a Champion. I think he is having a great year in order to show he can still play so the Lakers will sign him. Obviously, i dont think Kobe will allow it. He is too busy a$$ tasting to do any reuniting.

    @ EC: You’re so stupid its not even funny. And you’re lame. Yao Ming and Dwight Howard are clearly the 2 best centers in the league, without having the benefit of being able to commit offensive fouls every time they get the ball. Shaq is becoming a punk who likes to pick on players smaller than him. That’s why he can’t mess with those two aforementioned centers.
    Right now, Chris Bosh > Shaq

    @ Teddy at least the Suns have a chance at the playoffs. The Raptors haven’t been relevant since last year. That’s another thing about Bosh. The great players wouldn’t let their teams be crap. Great player Bosh is not. I’ve never liked Bosh’s game and I never will.

    because as opposed to the other gold medal winners with the exception of prince and redd, their teams are all having good seasons.

    @ dma: What does that have to do with anything? The Suns are bad compared to what they were just last year and their main addition? SHAQ.
    I’m not saying Chris Bosh is hall-of-famer (he’s still got years to go in this league), but right now he’s undoubtedly better than Shaq.
    Also, according to you I guess Paul Pierce isn’t a “great” player? Because when Paulie had no help just 2 seasons ago, the Celtics played maybe worse than the Raptors now.

    Shaq is the MDE, greatest Center of all time, and second to Mike. Quite frankly, he can say what he wants so long as he’s earnin his pay, and since he’s outplayed both Amare and Nash this year, I think it gives him that right.

    Shaq’s not the MDE, he’s not the greatest center of all time, and he’s certainly not second to Mike in anything. Other than that, though, spot-on analysis.

    I’m laughing at the shaq-hate right now…To paraphrase, Bosh needs to MAN UP. He’s lighter than Shaq? Well exploit that with quickness and hit him up for 50. Bosh is SOFT. Accept it. He’s skilled, but he is soft. It’s light-hearted HUMOR people. The reason its funny is because there is an element of truth in the joke, Bosh IS soft. Russ, I would have thought you’d appreciate Shaq not shoot him down for this. Shaq = a better NBA and more to report on. Y’all miss him when he’s gone. AllenP, why would anyone else get in this? We’re playing pick up and you start calling me out and I’m looking for another player to come back at you? That goes against everything sacred about the beautiful game. You come at me, I got to come right back at you – not look for another player ON ANOTHER TEAM to fight my battles. You know better than that.

    The problem with the Bosh, Nowitzki style 7 footers, is that you need another 7 footer in your line up to cover the stuff that 7 footers are supposed to do, like bang on the block offensively and change or block shots defensively. 7 footers like Shaq, Ewing, Hakeem, Drob, Duncan give you that while Bosh gives you a silky touch.
    Tough 7 footers are proven, silky ones aren’t.

    @ jaymes: i agree. but isnt that what jermaine was supposed to bring? i think they need a capable shooting guard. i like what bargnani has done this season so far. maybe next season when they draft thabeet.

    Yeah witness,true indeed, but my point is Bosh at 7 feet, should be the guy doing the banging, they shouldn’t neeed to bring in anyone. Fair enough he can’t contain someone shaq’s size defensively, but he should be tearing the hoop down at the other end!
    It’s proven, big men need to dominate the paint, and if they’re good enough (Hakeem, Ewing, DRob) the mid range too, not JUST the mid range like CB4.

    Co-Sign jaymes. But also remember, Bosh is NOT a center and he’s NOT a 7 footer. He’s a finesse power forward, if you call it that way. Also, his rebounding is pretty decent, but I agree he doesn’t own the paint like Ewing did, obviously.

    True Teddy, he is a finesse man, Shaq’s knock on him, though light hearted, is pretty spot on though..And personally, i prefer the 7 foot (or 6’10 +) guys to be bangers, not shooters. I admire the skill, but there is 3 or 4 other guys for that. He needs to build some cred on the block, before relying on his J for offense.
    Just my opinion……

    Peachb, he’s had alot more than 2 good games this year. And his squad was plenty understrength against Toronto.
    And it was just a light crack in response to Bosh’s stab…
