The Post Up: On Pause

Help me, help you.

by Holly MacKenzie

I am succumbing to my body’s demands for sleep. It is 1:56 a.m. and I spent the night unraveling some Chris Bosh drama that I’m sure you’ll all hear about soon enough. I’m not a fan of this story but that is an opinion for another place and time. Anyway, I saw some of the Denver/Phoenix game and that’s it!

Today is a throwback day… to SLAMonline pre-Post Up. Fill me in. Fill yourselves in. Please.

Oh, about the news that Gil plans on coming back this weekend: if he feels the need to come back so he can mentally go into the offseason knowing he played and felt good, then great. I support whatever he does, but my goodness part of me wishes he’d just wait until next season. I’ll be holding my breath when I watch him out there for the first time.

And, in Syracuse news, Jonny Flynn said yesterday that he will be back in Orange next year. Hmm.

Suns won their fifth straight with a victory over the Nuggets that went down to the wire. Grant Hill saved the day with a jumper and a free throw to give Phoenix the 118-115 victory.

Flip Murray had 30 points for the Hawks in a victory over the TWolves. He keeps on coming with the good games.

Heard the Philly/Portland game was a good one that went into overtime before the Sixers pulled it out, 114-108, thanks to Andre Miller’s 27-point, 10-rebound night. Most underrated pg out there.

Poor Holly……now she’s got me interested in the Bosh thing.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I like Flynn, but I think he is making a great decision. He will benefit by playing another year in college. I just don’t think he is ready yet.

  • Jer Boi

you wrote that bosh line..i hadda google it..crazy stuff..

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Sheesh, Bosh… well, there’s another NBA player I used to like but now I despise. What a douche.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

HOPE YOU HAD FUN AT YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY BOSH

  • Myung

The Hawks took care of business last night. NOW… the 3 game gauntlet begins, starting tomorrow night.

  • Gumdrop

We haven’t heard both sides of the story yet. Let’s all just calm down.

  • http://www.chucknorrisfacts.com/ The Kandi Raver

Flip playing well huh… did not hear about it. I wonder whats the Bosh thing about…

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Gumdrop: I don’t care if she cheated on him and sent him video tapes of it. You don’t do that, man.

  • Gumdrop

I know. I know. I’m just saying give it some time to hear everything.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Aight, you’re right. I’ll hold in my curse words for a bit.

you better work it, girl ( …of the world )
wet your lips and make love to the camera”

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

If this is true, the Raptors can keep Bosh. I don’t want him nowhere near the Pistons. However, i’ll wait to hear a rebuttal from Mr. Bosh.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

I really wanted to make a joke about it over the whole Lebron and her yappin’ at the bench thing, but the story ticked me off more than normal basketball drama stories.
In other news, what the Suns are doing are pissing me off. If they just died quietly from playoff contention, I would have accepted the fact that they wont make it by now. Yet, now they can’t lose and are only three games away. So now I’ll have to wait till right before the playoffs to be disappointed.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

I am so disappointed. Angry, even. Only goes on to show that you can’t make the assumption that nice guys when the camera’s on are nice guys in their private lives. I know he hasn’t said anything to defend himself yet but what could he say? Leaving a girl when she’s 7 months pregnant is disgusting but could be justified if she did something really awful. HOWEVER, IT’S YOUR MORAL OBLIGATION TO MAKE SURE THAT THE MOTHER AND THE KID ARE COMFORTABLE WHEN YOU’RE MAKING 15 MIL A YEAR !!! I’m not even talking about legal stuff here, just decency.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

You could be making $15 dollars an hour and you should still live up to your moral obligations.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Damn, what happened in Beijing? Wade, CB4…

  • ber

Anyone have a link to the Bosh story?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne
  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Uhm…..Wade and his wife split. They weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend with a kid in the mix. Wade pays a ton of alimony and child support……and his name was slandered by an angry wife that was pissed off at her husband’s new found celebrity and his newfound female interest. It’s not even right to compare wither situation….Wade has been and still is in his 5 year old son’s life.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    *either

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I linked to the Bosh story, but i’m not sure how long it will sit in moderation.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

What is it with professional athletes and not wanting to take responsibility for their kids.
That’s a huge generalization, I know the MAJORITY of athletes take care of their children and live up to the responsibility of raising them, or at least making sure they are financially sound for their adolescence. I’d just like to think that the rather sad number of athletes who do this crap stops at professional sports and doesn’t represent society as a whole. My father spent every waking hour making sure I had everything I needed in life, worked his hands to the bone, so this is something I feel very strongly about.

  • Ritchie

I think everyone should chill, till we hear Bosh’s side.

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

what the f*ck happened? can somebody give me a short summary of the story until TAD’s link clears?

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

    never mind, already found it.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Hey Jukai…..I’d like to think that too…..and my pops worked his ass off when I was a kid too…..but I’m telling you…..every week I see at least 10 guys that come through my firm that owe support in all kinds of amounts and none of them seemed too bothered by the resulting effect it may have on their children and have no desire to rush and try and correct their shortcomings as men…let alone fathers.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

I’m a HUGE jonny Flynn fan, but I’m happy he’s gonna stay another year. He’s a great talent but he still has room to improve.
And Damn. I don’t wanna rush to judgement on Bosh, realtionships are always more complicated then they appear on the surface. But deadbet dads who refuse to acknowlwdge financial responsibility are not really defensible in any way, especially when they are freaking millionaires.

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

heavy stuff. and Jukai, you feel strongly about everything

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

    male role models are overrated

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Bosh dumped his ole girl and kicked her out of their home in TX while she was 7 months pregnant. This was after they ALLEGEDLY agreed to get married and she even ALLEDGEDLY took fertility drugs. She went back to MD to live with her mom and had the baby in difficult conditions. Bosh hasn’t paid a red cent yet. Bosh = Deadbeat Dad. That’s about it. / E, my bad. Wade’s situation is nothing like Bosh’s. He also gets bonus points for naming his kid Zaire.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Hisham: I feel very strongly about everything ONLINE. I feel very strongly about this in real life. I guess.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

I’m torn about Flynn’s decision. On one hand, he will GREATLY benefit of another year with Cuse. Work on his J, develop a tear drop, hit guys while on the move, consistent effort on D, etc. BUT, scouts will also get one more year of looking at his flaws. I know that short pgs are back in style but it’s risky. He’s a late lottery pick right now, he could do the learning with guaranteed money in the L.

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

I was kidding. It’s a good thing to feel strongly about. That’s 1 less deadbeat dad for the world to worry about, i guess

  • http://slamonline.com Ben Osborne

Yeah, Mutoni’s got a Bosh post coming in a sec.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Yeah, Flynn’s decision is a dumb one, in my opinion. The draft class this year is WEAK SAUCE and in my opinion, I’m not sure if the dude is for real or if this is just a great season (ala Joakim Noah). He’s hurting his stock headin’ back to Cuse.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Hurting his stock? I sincerely doubt that. Devendorf will finally be gone and he will be able to take on more of a scoring and leadership role.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

I tend to agree with you on Flynn being able to improve with some guaranteed money, Z. But I think he’s the type of player/person who is only going to get better. And its kind of refreshing to see a kid with a pro game (ie NOT Hansborough)stick around in school.

  • http://iwantoutofokc.com/ James the balla

WHat up Jukai, Ben, Z, Hisham, Eboy!!

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Oh and Jukai, Jonny Flynn is most certainly “for real”. TAD, I thought Devendorf had one more year? Flynn already scores plenty, he has great vision though and is really good at utilizing shooters, I think having a smooth shooting guard in the backcourt with him really suits his game well, even if they are a bit undersized.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

This is actually Devendorf’s 5th year if i’m not mistaken.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

I guess the difference, TAD, is that I’m not too sure Flynn is ‘for real,’ you know? He’s playing outstandingly this year, but next year, EVERYONE will be keyed in on him, the defense, the media, and every NBA scout in the league. Sure he’ll get better, but teams will get better exploiting his weaknesses. I’m worried he’ll play more like Joakim Noah (players really keyed up on him and it hrut him) rather than Stephon Curry (who actually got ridiculously better once all that attention hit him).
So I’ll take back ‘dumb’ and write ‘questionable.’ Next year’s draft class is stronger and has more guards to chop at Flynn’s spot, so he better improve.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Ciolkstar, if he is, and he plays even better this year, I’m more than happy for him. I’m rooting for the kid (pretty much became a fan after six overtimes) and that’s why I’m a bit worried for him.

  • MooButter

Kind of dumb he denied that he was even the father until a paternity test put it at about a 97% certainty. haha what an idiot.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

    Moo: 99.97%.

  • MooButter

Does anyone else absolutely despise Devendorf? After he got in trouble and the school recommended he be kicked out, and coach suspended him for what 2 days? Lost all respect for Boheim and the ‘Cuse program after that.

  • MooButter

    @ Jukai, even worse.

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

Anybody notice that Oden was back on the floor last night? logged 25 minutes, scored 13 points. Now stay on the court big fella!

  • http://iwantoutofokc.com/ James the balla

So question … JaVale McGee, does anyone else get annoyed by this guy?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

From what i’ve seen and heard of Flynn, he appears to be a hard worker. I understand that you should probably come out and declare when your stock is at it’s highest, but I really don’t see his stock dropping much. I actually think he’ll hurt his development if he comes out this year and isn’t ready to play in the league.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Stephen Curry is as much of a 1 as Daniel Gibson. Not at all. I don’t know, I know he put up crazy stats but is he really a better player than Reddick was? JJ is a marginal player in the NBA at best and he would have dropped 30 at Davidson. He’s not quick, had decent handles, can’t penetrate, can’t really defend and he has to play off the ball at the next level.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Z: I’m a bad person to ask. I think JJ Reddick would be a fantastic bench player on a faster, less defense oriented team like Phoenix, Denver, New York, etc.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Devendorf is an absolute knucklehead, and basically impossible to like unless tou’re rooting for ‘Cuse. And Flynn will be a better pro than Steph Curry, Bet it.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

TAD, he could play himself out of guaranteed money (1st round). At his height and at his position, he’s a dime a dozen. Talented pg’s drop all the time to the 2nd round. I mean, teams are not even looking at AJ Price. / Look at Collison from UCLA. He was a lottery pick two years ago, now he’s a late 1st – early 2nd. I don’t doubt for a second that he’ll improve his game staying at Cuse, I’d just hate for him to drop. Bigs have the luxury of staying (à la Duncan) because you’ll always need one. For a small pg, it’s much more complicated. Nelson STILL has to prove himself.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Bosh story sounds truly sad, but i won’t judge…. Yet. And i am now officially afraid for the Mavs 8th spot, now that Nash, O’Neal and co. are winning everything in sight. And how about Grant Hill alley ooping and dunking? Love it. We need a new award: comeback player of the decade!

    stuff is going down!

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

I have a really hard time envisioning Flynn as a second rounder, unless he destroys his knee or something. Especially if he improves his outside shooting.

  • http://www.mynameinorange.blogspot.com Hisham

You should fear that the Mavs DO make the playoffs.. They’ll be swept mercilessly by the Lakers or Spurs. Unless they get 7th and the Rockets get 2nd place, which i doubt. Mavs are going to die a quick death in the playoffs.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ BETCATS

hopefuly the Post Up is not on a mega pause, or else it would have megapause, which sounds like something else. Holy, why are you making the Post Up go through premature megapause? It is still too young. Let it party.

  • http://slamonline.com Holly MacKenzie

Just want to say that we do not know all of the facts of this Bosh story. Doesn’t sound good.. At all, but we’ve heard only one side.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Holly, what’s yer thoughts on Flynn stayin’ another year?

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Hish: Mavs matchup well with the spurs, and they have that longtime texan rivalry going. You are quite right about the Lakers -Mavs though. They kick Mavs butt lately. But hey, no team in the west is stopping them this year anyway (under normal circumstances).

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Holly: shouldn’t ya be working on your busy schedule or catching some zee’s instead of commenting? Since you’ve been complaining about sleep loss etc. for days?

  • http://slamonline.com Holly MacKenzie

Jukai, I think it’s a good decision for him basketball wise, in terms of his being able to further improve his decision making oncourt. I also think it could be very, very tough for him to stick to what he just said about coming back if he continues to have a great showing in the tournament. I’d understand why he would go this year. The temptation is so great when you know your dream is right there.

  • http://slamonline.com Holly MacKenzie

Darksaber, my sleeping patterns are pretty screwy because of my busy schedule. I take sleep when I can get it.

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

So melo gets two rebounds again. What a f*cking joke. I am going to go ahead and say we may have seen this guys ceiling already. I would take Kevin Durant over this guy for the rest of my life and not ever think about it again.

  • Myung

Bryan, aren’t you the guy who says we’re too quick to judge young players (you called me out when I said Adam Morrison was a bust, and you called me out 2 or 3 other times in the past few months regarding other young players)? Yet you’re already putting a ceiling on a 24 year old like Melo? I’m not disagreeing with your decision to take Durant over Melo (I’d do the same) nor am I disagreeing with your assessment that he’s hit his ceiling (maybe he has), but it just seems kind of weird that the guy who comes to the defense of young players is already putting a cap on a guy who is still fairly young.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

    Melo: overrated.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Myung, this is is 6th year in the L as the go-to guy for his team. If sustained effort is still an issue, it will likely be for the rest of his career. He’s as gifted as a scorer as they come but he does have a ceiling. He was neck to neck with Bron after their first years in the L. He’s not even in the discussion anymore. Maybe expectations were too high.

  • Myung

Sigh. That wasn’t my point, guys. I am not defending Melo (I don’t like him very much either); I’m merely pointing out that Bryan called me out a few times when I said guys like Josh Smith, Adam Morrison, and Andrew Bynum are who they are (basically, that their ceiling has been reached), and each time, he said I was being too harsh or that they were young and to give them more time. I wasn’t defending Melo at all, if you re-read my post.

  • Myung

If it turns out that Adam Morrison does not end up being a bust, I will buy everyone on SLAMonline lifetime subscriptions. Sometimes… you just know.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

I’m saving this page, just so you know, Myung

  • Myung

Fair enough, Jukai. Fair enough. LOL.

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

I’m not defending myself but I just see room for improvement in those guys. Bynum can add post moves, morrison has a knack for scoring I think he’s just really shook and josh smith has a decent shot to work on. Melo has desire problems. I don’t intend to call you out just disagreeing and also bynum is 21 in only his second year as a started, morrison has not actually been given a shot and smith improved every season until this one out of the 3 I think smith is the likliest to have hit a ceiling I just think even if he never becomes a 25 and 12 monster his jumper will become more respectable which is my only knock with him.

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

I could be wrong about Melo but since he came in the league I’ve always seen him the same way : a rich man’s glenn robinson. Good midrange game and potent scorer , average at everything else.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

i heard that Juk’s. Now if you could replace Adam with sayyyyyy JR Smith? Hmm?

  • Myung

In fairness to you, Bryan, I could be wrong about Bynum… but in my mind, he’s just a rich man’s Brendan Haywood. I DO think Bynum will be a good pro (if he can stay healthy); however, if he made more than 2 All Star games during his career, I’d be shocked. I don’t think he sucks; I just think people rate him too high. BTW I love how we describe people as a “poor man’s so-and-so” or a “rich man’s so-and-so.” Who is the rich man’s Zaza Pachulia? Or is he just one of a kind?

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

    Nick collison?

  • Myung

As for Morrison, granted, he’s been injured a lot and hasn’t had much time to prove himself, but his career averages thus far are 8.9 points (his rookie season’s ppg are double this, his third year) and a 37 % fg%. For a guy who was the 3rd pick of his draft (considering Brandon Roy was picked behind him), I’d still call him a bust. I’d say his ceiling as a pro is maybe 13 ppg, or maybe he becomes a Brent Barry-like spot up 3 point shooter (as his niche). Either way, if he ever becomes an All Star or gets close to becoming a 20 ppg scorer, I guess I owe you guys a lot of SLAM magazines.

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

I think he could be a wallyworld type personally if he ever recovers his confidence, maybe even a little better cause he can score in more ways than wally could. Its a VERY long shot and I’m just going off the flashes I saw from him his rookie year.

  • Myung

And for the record, I think Melo has hit close to his ceiling too. For some reason I see him gaining a lot of weight in 2 or 3 years and becoming a one dimensional scorer. I still think he’ll be an effective player for a good number of seasons, but we’ll also look back on the “Melo or LBJ” debate from 2003 and 2004 as almost laughable. And also for the record, they still should have been co-Rookie of the year in 2004, even if LBJ >>> Melo now.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Bryan: Props that you figured out a pretty apt player to use for a “rich man’s Zaza Pachulia” in four minutes

  • Myung

I liked the comparison, Bryan… until I checked out their stats: Collison averages 8 and 7 in 26 minutes, and Zaza averages 6.3 and 5.7 in 19.5. You give Zaza those extra 7 minutes, and we might be calling Collison a poor man’s Zaza. I actually like Collison, but I’d give the nod to Zaza, since Collison doesn’t constantly look like Sly Stallone who’s been punched in both eyes. Zaza is the rich man’s Sly Stallone.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I’m sorry, but Melo hasn’t reached any ceiling, IMO. You guys are comparing him to Bron? I mean, let’s be realistic…we are talking about one of the top 2 players in the league. I do agree that Melo seems to lack desire at times, but he isn’t no damn Glenn Robinson.
    -
Myung: Man, i’d hate to disagree with you since I can’t stand the Lakers, but comparing Bynum to Brendan Haywood??!! I hate to say it, but Bynum is good. The only way he doesn’t become an All Star is because of his knee injuries (it really hurt to write that).

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

What does he do better than robinson did tad? For real.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

As for Adam Morrison, I think he’ll be no better than maybe a top 6th man. He needs to join a team with an established core that could use his outside shooting to space the floor. Off the top of my head, teams that could probably make him serviceable are: Utah (except they already have Korver), Detroit (except he doesn’t play defense), Phoenix, maybe Philly, and maybe New Orleans.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Shia: Melo scores in many more ways and actually gets to the free throw line. His driving ability and postup game are much better. He can actually jump. He has natural basketball instincts and he is a good, but not great, passer. He plays decent defense (I mean, Robinson never played any). He runs the break very well and knows how to space the floor. Both were subpar rebounders, but Melo has actually rebounded at a decent clip (even if he takes nights off with rebounding).

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

I think you might be underrating robinson a little but I can see your point , regardless though same numbers and same impact at this point. And I’m not sure melo will ever do more.

  • Myung

Tad, I admit it was a harsh comparison, and I know he will be much better than Haywood… but the fact is, Haywood (up until this season) was a healthy big body who was and continues to be raw on offense and who put up 10.6 and 7.2 last season. For his career, Bynum is at 8.7 and 6.2. Granted, he hasn’t really had a chance to prove himself so his #’s have a chance of really improving if he ever stays healthy, but isn’t that a big IF at this point? He’s 21, yet in his 4 seasons, he has played in 46, 82, 35, and 46. If he gets hurt again next season, then that 82 game season is going to be the exception, not the rule. And like I wrote in a previous post, I’m not saying he sucks. I’ve seen flashes where it looks like Bynum can be a legit C in this league, but I’m just not buying the hype (like I was reading for the first 3 months of the year) that he was going to be a top 3 or 4 center in this league and a perennial All Star. I’m just a little skeptical, I guess. Who knows… Bynum might make me look very foolish, and if he does become a star who can STAY HEALTHY, then I will come on here and admit I was wrong.

  • Myung

Robinson averaged 20, 6, and 3 for his career and won a ring (although he did nothing to help the Spurs win that season). He was one of the best mid range shooters I’ve ever seen.

  • Myung

Tad, I don’t think any of us compared him to LeBron. I mentioned LBJ’s name, but I was referencing 2004, and I was also saying you can’t compare the two anymore.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

I think I was referencing your comment of the “Melo vs. LBJ” debate, but I see what you were saying now. That was more of an ESPN/media thing.
    -
As for Robinson: no doubt he was great at what he did (scoring), but he never did much of anything else. He also never had “it” and you could just tell. Like, I never looked at Robinson and thought “he really could carry a team deep into the playoffs”. Now, i’m not saying that Melo will, i’m saying that I think he can. I know college isn’t the NBA, but he played his heart out at Syracuse and carried them to an NCAA Championship, and that is in a pressure packed win-or-go-home setting.

  • Myung

I agree fully that Melo will probably have a better career (we’ll see if he wins a ring or not) than Big Dog, but let’s not forget that Robinson carried Purdue to the Elite Eight (college teams were stronger back in 1994). He never had the “it” factor, but in his prime, the man could score at will. And yes, Melo was THE key cog of that Syracuse team, but Gerry McNamara and Hakim Warrick did a lot for them too. Melo sort of reminds me of Paul Pierce. If Melo gets his own KG and Ray Allen in a few years, I think all of us who’ve been a little hard on Melo could end up changing our view of him? Isn’t that the same thing that happened with Paul Pierce?

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Wouldn’t Glenn Robinson be a poor man’s Ray Allen? Pure shooter with less passing and ball handling?

  • Myung

Flip Murray is a poor, poor, poor, poor man’s Michael Jordan.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Myung: Flip Murray is also a poor man’s Flip Murray.

woww, the critisism u guys put on Melo is ridiculous. this guy goes a solid 2 months averaging nearly 8 boards and a number of games when his rebounds are in double digit and u guys harp on him about ONE game. If om not mistaken, Lebron had a game this season when he had ZERO assist. does that make him a ballhog? no it does not but it proves that these players cant be on their game every second. u ppl need to HOP OFF

Meloman: its not one game he was averaging almost nine for like a month and now he’s down to 7 or lower which means they’ve been steadily dropping also its his whole career a guy of his supposed ability should never average under 5 rebounds a game for a season and he did. Glenn robinson was not exactly a pure shooter. At least not in the traditional three point sense. And don’t hate on the guys athleticism he used to boom it on people a lot early in his career.

    1) Morrisson is garbage. Sexyback is twice the player that he is at least (and I don’t even like Wally).
    2) Bynum gets blown by every Lakers fan for putting up the same numbers that LO was doing last year as the starting 4. Just saying. Look it up.
    3) Melo is an excellent scorer and about every team in the L would love to have him as their 2nd guy. THAT is what’s disappointing. He doesn’t have the testicular fortitude to will his team to victory. He’s just not built like that. My beef with him has more to do with the mental aspect of the game. How you gon let Chauncey come in and run sh!t from the jump? There is NO DOUBT that Denver is Chauncey’s team even though Melo is their best player. And that’s a shame.

Melo’s The Nuggets Number 1 Guy And They’re On Pace For 54 Wins In The West. Most People Didn’t Even Have Them In The Playoffs When The Season Started. Anyone Who Says Melo’s Weak Mentally Needs To Actually Watch The Nuggets. He’s Back On Track With Hitting Game-Winners On A Regular Basis, And Lately He’s Had Some Monster 2nd Halves. Dude’s Gonna Be A Beast In The Playoffs.
