D-Wade is Your Scoring Champ

Not that there was ever any doubt, of course: “In order to bypass Wade for the scoring championship, James would have to score 172 points tonight against the visiting 76ers, if he even plays in Cleveland’s season finale. `I don’t think that’s being done,` Wade said with a wide smile before Tuesday’s game against the Hawks. `I’m pretty comfortable with that.` Wade will become the Heat’s first scoring champion. The highest finish by a Heat player in the scoring race had been fifth by Wade in 2005-06, when he averaged 27.2 points in the team’s championship season. `I mean that’s a lot of points, that’s a lot of baskets,` he said. `And all year, to be up in the top, was an honor.`”

‘LeBron the stat-slut told his teammates that no one can suit up tonite, he’s going for the record BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. He was quoted sayig: “Yeah 172 sounds like a lot, but we’re talking bout the sixers – I got this all by my damn self. Kiss that record goodbye DWade.” ‘

like that one time, when the admiral needed some points to win ahead of shaq and scored 71 points … come on lebron, you can do it …. 172 points ….

that does sound like something lebron would say, then he would start playing air guitar as teammates take pics of him.

    umm…they get a lil trophy

  • Krishan

How many of you guys foresaw wade would be this season’s leading scorer, raise your hands? Okay, now put them down, you f*ckin liars.

Krishan, Wade leading the league in scoring wasn’t that big of a surprise after he lead the Olympic team in scoring. (Not saying I called it though.)

while i never would have guessed that Wade’d lead the league in scoring this year, i also didn’t understand why people think the Heat was gonna be terrible and not make the playoffs. it’s basketball and ONE bonafide superstar CAN make a difference, especially for the middle-to-low tier teams.

Krishan, I didn’t see it coming, but I thought he’d be up there after seeing the Olympics. I thought LeBron would win this year. I had Melo as a candidate too, but, well what he’s doing now is better for his team.

  • whooo!

i jsut got to thinking about mj since this was about the scoring title, and it’s crazy to think that mike was outscoring this year’s champ as a rookie. and 7 straight season of 30+ is pretty mindblowing as well. i thought scoring was supposed to be easier these days!

  • whooo!

i mean that in the sense that it seems unfathomable at this point for a player to put up those types of numbers. what would mike have average if he was playing now? 40 (he did avg 37 one year…)?
