Drew Gooden and His Mysterious Bleeding
This is more than a little odd: “Spurs backup forward Drew Gooden hit the floor hard after tracking down a rebound and colliding with Mavericks forward Josh Howard in the second quarter. Gooden left the floor shortly before the end of the first half after he began spitting up blood. He was examined during halftime and returned for the second half, during which he played 11 minutes. ‘It was just an odd sort of fall,’ Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. ‘He was spitting up blood, so they checked him out. I’m not sure what’s going on, exactly.’ Gooden said he took to brunt of his fall on his right shoulder blade area, and was perplexed about the source of the blood.”
