Hornets Beaten in Historic, Humiliating Fashion

Not exactly the kind of historical footnote one wants attached to them: “This wasn’t just a win, it was ‘a whupping,’ according to Chris Paul’s explicit explanation of Game 4. But forget the hyperbole and look into the history book. Denver whupped New Orleans 121-63 on Monday night, the 58-point margin tying the NBA record, set in 1956, for the largest victory in playoff history. ‘My mother,’ the Nuggets’ Kenyon Martin said, ‘wasn’t born yet.’…Said Hornets coach Byron Scott, ‘In the five years I’ve been here, that’s the worst basketball game I’ve seen us ever play.’”

It’s turrible. But I mean they still are the Hornets, Charlotte or N’awlins. Larry Johnson is deep down David West’s ancestor

How do you only score 63 points?

  • http://allanzuss@yahoo.com Mendel

Looks like they should give Gordon a max deal.

Ok, so Denver vs. Dallas – it goes to 7?

  • Bear

I say Nuggets sweep them, or it’s 4-1. Denver’s feelin’ it now.

  • riggs

u cant sweep a team thats won one.

  • Ken

I think Bear meant that Denver will sweep Dallas.

  • Prison Mike

Look, another record that Chris Paul tied, just like all those other stupid “he got a steal in 96 consecutive games or whatever.”

One person’s job is safe in New Orleans. Just one.

  • Clark Kent

    As usual, Russ wins.

  • Luke

Looked more like a summer league or preseason game by the end, what with the score and basically EVERYONE leaving the arena.

”In the five years I’ve been here, that’s the worst basketball game I’ve seen us ever play.”
    No sh*t Sherlock!!

Is it just me, or were the announcers on NBATV(The insanely wack Rick Kamla and gunner Steve Smith)not actually at the game?

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

    CP3 doesn’t deserve this.
@Prison Mike: it was 108 consecutive games with a steal.

  • clapzilla

@Tommy, They Probably Were In Their Studio In Atlanta. Sometimes They’ll Just Voice Over The Live Broadcast. ESPN Does It Whenever They Broadcast A Team USA That’s Overseas. And Anton, Why Doesn’t Paul Deserve This? What Makes You Think This Isn’t Bad Karma?

  • KoBynum716

NO’s a fugayze team anyway. not a 58-point loss team, true, but they are so overrated that im glad this happened. a nice lil slap in the face by denver to show them that they aint isht. except for CP3

I think MJ scored that once in a playoff game…

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

Kobe could have won that game…82 to 63…
