    Maybe more than oneup

Kobe is the best of his time. MJ is the best of all times.

IF Kobe wins two more titles, he will be the only person in history that you can debate with, being better than Jordan. PERIOD!!!!

co-sign RedRum, they don’t compare to MJ defensively. Blocking shots from behind doesn’t count, locking your man down man o man o is supreme. Darksaber, how do you not have ish 1? Come on man show your age, I have EVERY ish plus the kicks and punks (Bounce 2)lol. I’m a junkie and have been since I stumbled across ish 1 in a “smoke” shop. I’ll check my stash to see if I have more than 2 copies of #50. If I do, it’s yours…

Ryan: Thanks for the tip, tried already, no dice.
Eboy: a thousand? 1K? come on dude, i collect them to read and not to frame. Thanks, but no thanks

BostonB: i totally stumbled into Slam back then, started with issue 2, and didn’t really become a slam addict until around issue 5, back then i had no clue how to get my hands on back issues… If you find 2 copies of Issue 50 (actually THE main issue i want), i’d be willing to pay. Thanks for checking.

You dummy……I was joking…….I meant $5000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Naw man…….50 is one of the issues I’m pretty sure I have one copy of. I started buying double issues around 70. Only certain old school ones I have doubles off. If i did….it be on the way too you.

Hursty==> I’ll admit I get a little carried-away sometimes, but I love slaying sacred cows. Anyway, I’ll try to meet you on the merits. Bird inherited a team that seemed to be on the rise, after winning 61 games in 2003-2004. He dismantled that team. Since that time, Indiana has devolved into a team that tends to be on the outside of the playoffs, looking in. This year, the team will have to get a little lucky to win 35 games. Now, I must admit that Bird did do well to get Granger, but I attribute that to nothing more than dumb luck. After all, Larry Legend probably is still Austin Croshere’s #1 fan.

As for your analysis of Jordan, I find it hard to believ that every other year Jordan is a bottom-five exec, but this year he manages to be one of the best. What do you think the odds are that LB told MJ to gamble a few extra holes on the golf course and just stay the fu(k out of the way? If Jordan truly conceived of and triggered the deals you’re talking about, it would be a much greater comeback than when he reappeared wearing #45 in The Garden. Regardless, if Jordan the player wasn’t just an advertising tool, then he was simply a tool — period.

Sorry, forgot to mention that those players you name on that Indiana squad you like? Everybody except S. Jax was a Donnie Walsh player.

  • truthteller

    chintao,
what do you have to say to guys who feel Magic is the greatest player of all time?

  • chintao

Oooh. Hit me where it hurts, truthteller. You must know that I kind of grew-up with Magic. Although he’s a tremendous player, who could play all five positions, I am not sure that he’s the G.O.A.T. I would think that Magic, Wilt, The Big O, and Kobe/LeBron definitely have to be in the conversation; however, I don’t think any of them can win it. As much as I hate Jordan the personality, I don’t think anybody can take that title from Jordan the baller.
