The Kings’ Search for a Coach Begins

They’re looking for a few good men: “Some 80 minutes after the Kings announced that interim coach Kenny Natt would not return next season, [Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie] made his preferences clear to the media as they pertain to the team’s fifth coach in the last five years. And after calling only for candidates that come with NBA head coaching experience and a successful track record at that, he had his stance supported by Joe Maloof.”

You mean Deering didn’t want him back? Dammit, I was hoping for a new season on TV (no doubt Julie Connor still wouldn’t have managed to graduate!)

  • [...] The Kings releaed Kenny Natt yesterday. Good thing we locked up Scott Brooks or they’d probab…: “Some 80 minutes after the Kings announced that interim coach Kenny Natt would not return next season, [Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie] made his preferences clear to the media as they pertain to the team’s fifth coach in the last five years. although, who they draft can make or break them. they have pieces that could make them killer.
    same with the clips.
if they get rubio, or something, then possibly trade the rights to another team. idk, both teams could do damage.

  • Josh D Posted: Apr.24 at 3:28 pm
Mo Cheeks or Sam Mitchell might be a good idea

  • AlbertBarr Posted: Apr.24 at 3:30 pm
I like the idea of Mo Cheeks…but Sam Mitchell has really nice suits…

  • AlbertBarr Posted: Apr.24 at 3:31 pm
Really though, Eddie Jordan’s style would fit in with the identity the Kings used to have and are tryin to get back with the Pete Carill offense. Eddie’s system could translate OK.

  • mat smith Posted: Apr.24 at 5:27 pm
and why trade John Salmons? MUP (most underrated player) I bloody love that guy, props to Chi town and stuff but I would have kept John. Im out like….

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Apr.24 at 7:36 pm
I think Ken Howard is available.

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Apr.24 at 9:27 pm
someone give Paul Silas a job. Yes. I say that almost every week.

  • Walt Williams Posted: Apr.24 at 10:11 pm
John Salmons is overrated.I hate that people say he is underappreciated. In game 1 even though he shot his typical 5-18 or whatever it was,the bulls still won because the ball was in Rose’s hands and everyone was happy.Last night he just kept shooting the Bulls into a deficit in that first quarter.Rose would make one pass to him on the wing and thats it, lights out, end of story, John is gonna shoot. No side to side or ball reversal. No running the offense through Brad at the high post or Rose and Noah pick and rolls(which usually results in an open Gordon, a Noah dunk or a Rose layup.Nope,we are going to stand around and watch John freaking Salmons “battle” Paul Pierce in vain.
There is a reason you got him from us,Chicago. We watched him stifle our ball movement for so long in Sac I really do feel sorry for Chicago fans. You watch a couple games at first and you think the guy has talent, that he can score and create for himself. But then the real John comes out when your down and not playing well and he is just positve he is the guy to shoot you out of it.I hate playing with guys like him and I hate watching guys like him.
Oh,one more thing,he wont come off the bench. He has made it clear he wants to start. He put up horrible numbers for us when we needed him off the bench.
John Salmons=Jim Jackson. A piece of cancer wrapped in bacon. That is all

    Sam Mitchell

  • Jerry West Posted: Apr.26 at 5:33 am
    Brian Shaw

  • Hursty Posted: Apr.26 at 9:31 am
Paul Silas, Sam Mitchell, Avery Johnson.
Not Eddie Jordan. Dude doesn’t exactly love the defensive side of things. Kings need to play a little D next year. Just a little.

  • The Last Kings Fan Posted: Apr.27 at 9:49 am
The local paper is saying either Avery Johnson or trying to get Jeff Van Gundy away from ESPN

  • Dacre Posted: Apr.27 at 11:20 pm
    Tex Winters.
