Kings Hoping to Get Lucky

Ah, the joys of the Draft Lottery: “There will be 14 numbered ping-pong balls in a drum with 1,001 combinations of how four balls can be drawn. A computer assigns combinations to each team, with the Kings having 250 combinations. The Phoenix Suns have the best record among non-playoff teams and will have five combinations. Four balls will be drawn to the top to determine a four-digit combination, and the team with that combination will receive the first pick. The four balls will be placed back in the drum, and the same process will determine the second and third picks…’I think you just deal with it,’ Kings director of player personnel Jerry Reynolds said. ‘It is the luck of the draw. You realize what your percentages are, and you say we’ve got a 25 percent chance of getting No. 1. If things go bad, you get No. 4. I don’t have a problem with that.’”

C’MON SUNS, DRAFT ANOTHER GREAT PLAYER THAN TRADE HIM FOR $$$$$$$$$$

  • AlbertBarr

I really hope we get at least the second pick…dropping to fourth would be terrible. After Griffin, Rubio, Jennings, who could the Kings draft that would actually get the team on the right track? (not that the three mentioned can necessarily do it)

  • AlbertBarr

The Kings should just get rid of Petrie already and let C-Webb be our GM.

  • Jess

    lets go raps!!!!!! lol

  • mr. carter

@ Albertball Jordan Hill for example. and im pretty shure that jennings won’t be a top 3 pick. so you’ll get him anyway.

Albert: Jennings isn’t going in the top 5. There are better picks.

  • doyouwantmore

I really hope the Kings get Rubio and STAY IN SACRAMENTO.

If they don’t get the in the top three(or maybe top two) they should trade this pick away along with some other guys, possibly as cap fodder for another team in 2010 and get a guy to lead the franchise so they can be more competitive

  • http://slamonline.com DONONE

they need a point guard!! rubio or jennings….kevin martin neeeds help!! and fast!!

  • donovan

If any of you would take Rubio or Jennings … or, anyone, over Blake Griffin … you’re crazy.

  • Quail

they do need a point guard. they actually dont have that bad of a starting lineup. minus the pg, its kevin martin, nocioni, Jason Thompson, and Spencer Hawes. so if they dont get the first pick, i’d say get rubio or ty lawson. yes, i said it. i think ty lawson is better than brandon jennings.

Blake griffin this blake griffin that
yea he’s great but would a team with the first pick be stupid enough to draft him when they desperately need a pg?

  • http://blogs.myspace.com/originadro Witness

@ Who’s Dat Kid?: I would. Then I would trade him for a PG that i desperately need in a package deal.

  • The Starks Knight

Draft day always gives me nightmares…must be because I’m a Raps fan.

If things go bad, you get the 4th pick? That’s not how probability works, Mr. Reynolds. You only have 250 of the 1,000 combinations, so each of the first four picks could very well be one of the remaining 750 combos.

  • donovan

Do you guys really think Hawes and Thompson are that good? Come on. Do you know how many cats could put up those numbers on a 17-win squad?

  • Seven Duece

Call me crazy, but I hope the Kings fall in the draft so nobody looks crazy at them for drafting Jennings. Without a doubt, he will have people reminiscing about JWill while embarrassing dudes on the regular. He just does things nobody else coming in this draft can. Regardless of the pg they draft, the team is still rebuilding. Why not get one who can at least entertain while improving. And if they don’t, I sure hope Phoenix will snag him. Just not to Golden State, God please don’t let that kid go to Golden State. Nobody deserves to go to Golden State – besides the bums that are there already. And Yi.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Blinguo

The Kings have more bums on the roster than Golden State. GSW simply has really bad management, that yeah nobody should have to play for. Fans still fill it up in spite of it, unlike Cowtown Nor Cal.

I wondering who looks good at the 4th pick?!?! Man its a mystery out there this year in the mock rankings…

If Rubio slips past the top three spots do you take him? I’m leaning on yes, but not because I think he’s going to be a starting PG right out of the bat. What about if Thabeet is still on the board? That would be a great pick, but I can’t see much offense from him for the first couple of seasons….the kid is stick thin and raw…cane sugar raw….
Chase Budinger? Why shouldn’t he be top 5 material – who’s better? Anyone could be really…thats the true issue here…some say this is a weak draft, but really, I call it a solid draft – you cant distinquish the 2nd pick from the 14th at this stage.
That Johnny Flynn (how many N’s…) is looking shorter and shorter the more I look him up on youtube??!?
Sac-Town. Go for the BEST player left on the wall when its your pick, who that actually is…I’ll let you know in 5 yrs from now.
