McHale to Discuss Future With New Boss

Don’t expect any quick decisions, though: “[New Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn] said Friday he will not dismiss McHale just because he has the power to do so. He said the two might need to meet multiple times and said he doesn’t feel pressed to decide the matter because preparing for the June 25 draft is more important. ‘Kevin has a long history here and a relationship with the owner that I respect and trust,’ Kahn said. ‘He’s Kevin McHale, and I will not hurt Kevin McHale.’”

Um, maybe, just maybe, it would be wise to have a coach and a system/plan of attack in place before making such a high pick? You know, so you know that you, your coach and your draft pick are all on the same page? Or maybe you could go about it asss backwards and just hire a coach to justify/manage whatever pick you make.

Apparently McHale is built of teflon, just like Zeke was. How has he not been fired yet!?!

  • Coach Master

McHale is a good coach. The players all want him back. Was he a good GM? Hell no! But he has performed as well as anyone could as coach. I’ll give it to the guys who put out 82 games, bring him back.

it’s that age old chicken/egg question really, which came first – the Rookie or the coach?
