Wayman Tisdale: R.I.P.

Wayman Tisdale, the 1985 second overall pick, died Friday morning of cancer. He was 44. A solid player in the League for 12 seasons, Tisdale was better known for his collegiate career at Oklahoma. He was the only Division 1 athlete to be named All-America in his freshman season until Kevin Durant Durant in 2007. Despite his health troubles, Tisdale continued to work with his “first love,” making music as a bass guitarist.

man…. I remember Inside the NBA did a piece on him, I believe it was last year. Loved it, and I thought he did pretty well back then. Didn’t know it was this bad again. What a loss, too young.

Rarely in the world of sports and entertainment do you find a person as upbeat and unscathed by fame and fortune as Tizzy. Even rarer is the fact that he was one of the nicest persons you’d ever meet, and never was a harsh word or deed published about him. The sports and music world has lost one of the best. R.I.P.

I am a fan of the NBA for over 25 years and I do remember Wayman Tisdale, he was a decent player and a hell of a musician, but most of all, he was a good person, an ambassador to the world to look up too, R.I.P. Wayman!!!!!
