Amir Johnson Traded for Fabricio Oberto

Poor Fabricio, who no one seems to want: “Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced this evening that the club has acquired Fabricio Oberto as part of a three-team trade with San Antonio and Milwaukee. Amir Johnson has been traded to Milwaukee as part of that deal.”

And Dumars will let Oberto go. So Oberto might be a Spur soon enough.
Not bad for Milwaukee though, Amir Johnson can play.

Why the postering? Becuase EVERYONE is clearing cap room for 2010, EVERYONE. Each team is secretly positioning themselves for one of the “free” stars. Each team thinks they can sneak and get James, Wade Bosh and company and if they can’t get them they will have enough money to get 2 really good players or a superstar and a good player to get them over the hump.

The Argentinan combo meal of Oberto and Herman will be delightful to watch.

Can’t believe the Pistons gave up on Amir. It was just last year that they were talking about his potential. I thought he played ok this year, and I don’t understand why they traded him for Oberto, who’s on his way out of the league.

I can believe the Pistons gave up on Amir. Honestly, he just never progressed and actually seemed to regress some last season.

And yes, the Pistons are buying out Oberto to save another $1.7 mil on the cap this season. Apparently, Dumars has some moves being made for a couple of free agents.

I wish that trade would’ve been a three-way deal to bring Amir over. we need some frontcourt atheleticism desperately. But TAD is right about Amir not really improving. He just wasn’t able to maintain his crazy productivity in increased minutes. It’ll be interesting to see whether Skiles can get something out of Amir.

Amir will do WELL in Milwaukee.

  • TADOne Posted: Jun.24 at 10:37 am
Honestly, I like Amir and hope he succeeds. He is a good kid who just needs to mantain his focus on the court and he can be really good. He is kind of like Tyrus Thomas in that regard.

Except Amir isn’t a b*tch about foul calls, TAD.

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jun.24 at 10:52 am
might i add that i am extremely excited about increased minutes for maxiell.

  • TADOne Posted: Jun.24 at 11:28 am
Moose, I have no idea what the f*ck you are talking about?

  • underdog Posted: Jun.24 at 4:20 pm
I think Moose talks about how Tyrus Tomas always whines after fouls committed by him.
