Brandon Jennings and the Pitfalls of Social Media

Jennings is quickly learning that everyone is always watching and listening: “Jennings: F*** the Knicks, them n***** skipped out on me…F*** the Knicks, them n***** is always going to be weak…Duhon ain’t gonna get it done.”

What do you think the odds of TNT or ESPN giving Knicks/Bucks a national broadcast?

  • http://theghostofroyhobbs.blogspot.com Mo Charlo

not tactful, but he does have a point.

  • nicko

i really hope jennings can get the job done…..i can’t stand someone who talks all that mess but doesn’t do anything when it’s time to put in work

  • http://worthwhile.com Chris Rackley

This comes from the kid who didn’t even show up because he thought he was going to get picked so low . . . now he’s mad he didn’t get picked higher?

Duhon has proven himself after several years in the NBA Jennings. We haven’t seen a thing from you, yet.

Your talk is cheap, just like your presence at the draft. Westbrook could talk about Rubio – Westbrook proved himself last year. You’ve done nothing yet. Let’s see you consistently deliver – then you can smack the Knicks.

Jennings will have to be very good after all that mess if he doesn’t want the media to eat him alive. But still. Da kid’s got a point. The Knicks don’t pick him and they try to get J-Kidd??? Come on NY. It’s nearly 2010. Not 2001.

I like jennings. Let me re phrase that, I liked jennings. Come on, you played 1 so so pro season in italy. You have much to prove young padewan. Once you are playing regularly and putting up numbers then run your mouth. Though we could still do without the f and n bombs.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Tzvi Twersky

This really had nothing to do with social media. He thought he was having a private convo with Budden and Budden decided to air it out. Tahiry would not be pleased.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Tzvi Twersky

Oh and he’s off of Twitter now….and oh this transcript sucks and makes it look malicious; he was just a kid joking around, go find the video.

  • neaorin

wow, that s**t is f***ed up.

  • neaorin

Man, that s**t is really f***ed up.

  • jumpman3224

thanks for the context Tzvi…too bad he is off twitter now I just started following him

why were JR Smith and Eddy Curry driving from NY to Det together at 4am?

  • http://dsfkl.com Jukai

You know… when I first read this, I was mad. I couldn’t believe Jennings would honestly be saying stuff like this to the media.
After reading this stuff, I like the kid a lot more. Really. First off, he didn’t know this stuff would be posted on the internet.
Secondly, if you actually READ the entire conversation instead of just taking a snippet from it… it sounds more like he’s just jokin’ around more than anything. Budden is a Knicks fan and Jennings is trash talking the Knicks.
Hell, Jennings didn’t even throw anyone under the bus. Not Skiles, not Curry, not Rubio, no one.
This is less of a media hazard that I really thought it would be. I love Budden talking about how he wants to record Rubio owning Jennings. Great stuff.

  • http://dsfkl.com Jukai

Budden: They ain’t go no other guards.
    Jennings: Ridnour.
Budden: N****, get that bum-a** n**** outta here.
Jennings: He’s going to be a backup.
    Budden: To who?
Jennings: To who? Who else n****?
THIS STUFF IS HYSTERICAL! This is not Jennings being serious, he even later says he has no idea if he’s gonna start!
F*ck it, I like Jennings even more now!

  • Momma No Like Cold

Ouch! That’s gonna leave a mark.

  • Momma No Like Cold

I hope Budden reached him in the weight room. He’s gonna have to get his ski***y little as* hauling some lbs.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

He needs to sign up with a PR agency real quick. As much as the media says that they want athletes to speak freely, speaking freely will always get you in trouble. Always. I bet he lays low til the start of the season and we don’t hear anything from him for the whole summer.

  • http://dsfkl.com Jukai

I hope he keeps on talking. Read the transcripts and relax guys.

  • http://www.boogiewilliams.com Boing Dynasty

Jennings is fast, athletic, with crazy hops and long arms, what does he need to put on weight for? hes 6’1 hes not going to be rebounding or posting anyone up anyway.

  • riggs

holy sh*t everybody took this soooo out of context.

  • riggs

“Jennings: Rubio is not coming, they are not giving up Rubio. You got Jordan Hill, you happy with that?
Budden: I don’t really know enough about Jordan Hill to be happy … I’m happy with Toney Douglas.
Jennings: I know they were booing this n****.
Budden: What does that mean? They boo everybody n****.”

lmaooooo its funny cause its true.

I would have personally chucked my beer at you. Duhon is a burger too.. waste of a fcking contract.. should have just let nate run the point this year and called it a day.. The Knicks really should have drafted Jennings.

  • K

Yeah couldn’t agree more with Tzvi and Jukai. “You talk too much – go score a point!” Hilarious.

  • K

Too bad it’s looking like the media just found a new target to misrepresent. Somehow Jennings is portrayed as the selfish prima donna of this draft, even though he 1) had no problem matching up with any of the other PGs at pre-draft workouts and 2) has committed to playing for the team that drafted him, even though he’s stuck in Milwaukee. Can’t say the same about every lottery PG pick this draft.

  • Josh D

God, he’s only been in the league for a few days and he’s made three stories on this site already

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com Blinguo

Not just Jennings – Josh, isn’t every 3rd story around here a Knicks one too? Or at least they all tend to turn into NYC draft discussions and remorse over this man, Rubio maybe man, Jordan Hill what the hell man, and Golden State we hex curse you guys man.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

  • Da Bulls

This is great. If Jennings had problems logging minutes in Italy, lets see how many he’ll get under Scott Skiles. Skiles is a hard nose coach who stresses defence and accountability. Two things I think Jennings needs a lot of work on.

  • http://dsfkl.com Jukai

Da Bulls: all depends on whether Sessions stays or not.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com Blinguo

To be fair the Knicks screwed their draft up too if like you say they’re cursed to be burned by Brandon Jennings every time he stops by MSG, while also lightly dissed here under the pretense of confidentiality – just bulsh*tin’ with a beatwriter. But yeah I read the caps, so I know you’re playing around B.

  • K

And in true Bucks form, they are looking to resign Sessions instead of Villanueva, creating a backlog at the PG spot and leaving no minutes for Jennings. Note to Scott Skiles – Sessions is not a 2.

  • chintao

I love it when people get crucified for being honest. It’s almost like the rest of the world can’t stand to see its own hypocrisy shown in the mirror.

  • Double J

Jennings has been my boy every since i first saw that high fade box joint he wears atop his BIG head. dude got game, and i love it!
