Kobe Discusses MJ’s Influence

No, not that MJ…the other MJ: “Bryant said he and [Michael] Jackson had numerous conversations both by phone and in person, each speaking about the work ethic and dedication necessary to be on top of their respective crafts. ‘He was extremely inspirational for me on a personal level because he helped me to understand it was OK to be different,’ Bryant said. ‘When I say different, I mean different in the sense of being obsessed with your craft, paying attention to the details, and working your tail off day in and day out and being consumed with what you do. He made me feel it was OK to be that way and helped mentor me in that department.’”

says the man who has the sound of an erection in his name… nice

  • Momma No Like Cold Posted: Jun.29 at 10:38 am
Will Kobe wear a white glove next year? Will he grab his balls and shriek.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.29 at 10:38 am
“I don’t mean different as in touching little boys. Really, that sh*t is sick.”

  • Boing Dynasty Posted: Jun.29 at 10:45 am
@Remo, im not sure if you have a cartoon penis, but my erections dont make noises.

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jun.29 at 11:08 am
kobe is weird but whatever. he might have r@ped that chick in co. but i bet she was golddigging. jacko, however, definitely did r@pe dozens, hundreds?, of boys over the years and got away with it cuz he can sing and dance. im glad that self hating turdburglar is gone. good riddance.

  • Rasheedionics Posted: Jun.29 at 11:22 am
Tarzan, tell us how you really feel…

  • Rasheedionics Posted: Jun.29 at 11:23 am
My thing is why judge someone who you didnt know personally. We all have skeletons in our closets and probably be mad if someone assume things about our character.

  • Peter Posted: Jun.29 at 11:23 am
    Tarzan you’re an idiot

  • ron Posted: Jun.29 at 11:40 am
Ha.. Momma, that’s a good one.
And to Tarzan, the court has decided that MJ is innocent. Period.

  • Anton Posted: Jun.29 at 12:41 pm
you know who else was innocent? OJ

  • Bmore-Mike Posted: Jun.29 at 2:26 pm
F ck you too Boing , hatin a$$. Long summer watching those sports illustrated commercials wit us holding the chip. But to hell wit that, you bitche$ think it’s funny to talk about dead people whe any of you jerks don’t know what really happened. I hope all of you have too many and drive off a cliff. Then I’ll blog about you like I really knew you.

  • seven deuce Posted: Jun.29 at 2:34 pm
at least Kobe is finally acknowledging the obvious. too bad he’s waited nearly 13 years after sounding like he’s memorized every one of MJ’s quotes. “The rhythm of the game….”

  • Blinguo Posted: Jun.29 at 2:37 pm
Kobe really is the Michael Jackson of the NBA. There’s no middleground with these two. Hate em or love em. Man I wanted to post that “Kobe is the Michael Jack of the NBA” all weekend on SLAM but there wasn’t really a good place to put it. This is that topic. Plus SLAM got the pics, of Kobe “channeling the other MJ” during those Lakers :: Kings wars. (broken hand, white glove cast wouldn’t stop him from playing in those games)

  • Bmore-Mike Posted: Jun.29 at 2:41 pm
Since all of you know mj did it answer this, is the 2012 stuff for real, whose going to win the super bowl, will Lebron leave Cleveland, will Barack really save us or doom us? I need to know because Tarzan, boing and a couple others know it all so I know you can answer those questions for because you guys have that x-men like ability too talk about $hit you have no clue about. No I know you guys where on the ranch and saw it first hand right? I hope he didn’t get to yall then!!

  • Blinguo Posted: Jun.29 at 2:41 pm
And doves released after every charge found not guilty? That was Media gold for stuff like “The Soup” and youtube to replay endlessly. And Jennings just said to this “WTF Kob’ Trying to be like Jordan again? Don’t put out that posthumous Kobe and Jacko music video you bitin’ a** n****”

  • Josh D Posted: Jun.29 at 2:44 pm
Not to offend anyone, but i won’t miss Michael Jackson

  • Blinguo Posted: Jun.29 at 2:56 pm
And I didn’t mean to offend with my rudimentary, caveman like Jennings satire out of context. Sounds super duper harsh in retrospect. I don’t say any version of the N word even in jest. Commenter’s Remorse. Back to the lab to refine my jokey jokes, Chappelle freelancing to Africa style. Maybe I’ll work the “I’m out like….(Dave to Africa)” old-school letter enders in SLAM. Those can make a comeback.

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Jun.29 at 3:07 pm
We’ll never really know about MJ’s exploits.
But if Kobe took MJ’s advice, then Kobe will soon be the best white player the league has ever known.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.29 at 4:18 pm
    Blinguo: Kobe’s dead?!?!?!

  • Blinguo Posted: Jun.29 at 4:32 pm
Posthumous for the Bad Thriller ABC’s boy, but Kobe has an ego big enough to release it after he dies too. And to me, Kobe’s been dead a while. JoeMaMa FTW. As Eboy pointed out on the Cover of the Kobe vs LeBron issue, Kobe’s Nixon nose is freaky and could actually use work. but then elbows to Kobe’s face wouldn’t hurt him when someone finally elbows back. So that won’t be any fun.

  • B-Moore Posted: Jun.29 at 6:06 pm
Are you saying you can’t hate one but love the other?? I Hate Kobe with a passion.
But Micheal Jackson really is the king of pop

  • . Posted: Jun.29 at 6:12 pm
Kobe also said this Bryant said he and Jackson had numerous conversations both by phone and in person, each speaking about the work ethic and dedication necessary to be on top of their respective crafts. “He was extremely inspirational for me on a personal level because he helped me to understand it was OK to be different,” Bryant said. “When I say different, I mean different in the sense of being obsessed with your craft, paying attention to the details, and working your tail off day in and day out and being consumed with what you do. He made me feel it was OK to be that way and helped mentor me in that department.”

  • Blinguo Posted: Jun.29 at 6:43 pm
Yeah, that works. They’re not the exact same person or linked exclusively, you can hate one and love the other sure. Just saying people either hate these guys or love them. As everyone usually says. Nobody just says, they’re ok or alright, or I don’t care.

  • airs Posted: Jun.29 at 11:53 pm
ignorance at its damn finest! gotta love it.

  • chintao Posted: Jun.30 at 2:53 am
    Ballhog-Rapist on Ballboy-Rapist

  • Darksaber Posted: Jun.30 at 6:58 am
Dang, i was just getting ready to RIP the Mambiatch (cause i thought he was finally admitting to being a Jordanaire copycat) but, no it’s about the King of Pop. Oh well, please proceed. And Chintao = damn, son!

  • chintao Posted: Jun.30 at 10:26 pm
    It is what it is….

What wrong with you guys? Why are you all so mean towards people, especially ones you didn’t even know. It makes me wonder if you would have said any of this to their faces. All I gotta say is go Lakers and rest in peace Mike. You guys can say what you want but you can’t stop either one of their legacies. God bless and Lord forgive you.
