Shaq Vs. The (Maybe) G.O.A.T. At H.O.R.S.E.

The MDE puts out a challenge.

The latest chapter in Shaq’s Twitter fun could involve the NBA’s original Superman playing H.O.R.S.E. against an average-looking guy with superhuman trick-shot abilities.

At around midnight Eastern Time on Tuesday/Wednesday morning, Shaq posted on his Twitter account that he wanted to play a guy who seems to be a trick-shot wizard in a game of H.O.R.S.E. for a thousand bucks. He asked his Twitter followers to help find the guy in the video:

“i wanna play this guy n horse for a thousand dollars, find him pls http://bit.ly/CK5nk”

Within minutes of posting the video, Shaq was flooded with responses. The most notable came from the guy who claims to have edited the video. Named LeftLane_6CEO on Twitter, the guy told Shaq that the guy in the video, Bruce Manley, is ready to take him on.

The only thing is, this might be the greatest H.O.R.S.E. player ever, provided the video is legit. I spent a good hour watching and re-watching this stuff on Tuesday night. I asked Russ to idiot-proof it for me, in case I missed something and he said it LOOKED legit (note the caps).

If this is in fact for real, the guy is a trick-shot phenom. My personal favorite is the jump-off-the-tree, behind-the-back shot, that goes through cleaner than any free throw Shaq has ever made.

Which leads to the question: just how out-matched might Shaq be in this game of H.O.R.S.E. if dunking isn’t allowed? A career 52.8-percent free-throw shooter, the Most Dominant Ever may have bitten off more than he can chew in issuing this challenge.

Hopefully this leads to at least a good 15 minutes of fame for a guy that in one video, LL6 calls, “the next Pistol Pete.”

    Bruce is my brother and his stuff is real. We grew up with a basketball court across the street and he would be practicing all the time. I’ve seen his basketball in person and the video is real.

    Wasup Bruce… ayo …. i work with Bruce right now.. ive played ball with bruce quite a few times and ive seen him do some of these crazy shots in person. the vid is a 100% legit… he can definitely make em n has made em… shaq’s got a run for his money…. n i think bruce’ll probaly win..

    Do you wanna know where the problem lies…people are afraid of believing something and then finding out its fake and feeling like an idiot. Its understandable to doubt, but he and the ones filming made sure to keep the ball in the video the whole time. what you must realize is Bruce is a basketball player not a film editor. why the hell would he wanna publisize himself doing fake sht when the game of his life revolves around a simple fact (the ball ither went in or not). all this is showing is how dedication and persistance can pay off. and for those of you doubting it, how bout you research before making an opinion because now when you find out its real your just going to feel like an idiot.

    I’ve been playing with him for the past 8 years and all of those shots are real, and he pulls them not only when we are messingaround but sometimes in pick up games. He made the video initially to win a contest and it spwaned into its own thing.

    i’ve played ball with bruce back home in sparta. something none of these vids show is his jumper, which is lights out. i have been on the court as he did a lot of shots like this. and he can do the layups in game, in traffic. hard to believe, but it’s true. on my grandma’s grave.
