USC Targeting Jeff Van Gundy as Next Head Coach

Just the news JVG needed to convince him to stay in the broadcast booth and never, ever leave: “The university wasted no time searching for a replacement, with Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon the top choice, followed by former NBA coaches Jeff Van Gundy and Reggie Theus, along with Southern Mississippi coach Larry Eustachy.”

    That would be great, except I don’t think JVG will be as willing to get his hands “dirty” (as far as recruiting)as Floyd was.

    Theus would be a solid fit–he’s a good recruiter, spent the last few years in Cali and scandal doesn’t scare him.

    What’s wrong with Reggie? Ask Pitino about his recruiting ability and he won 39 games with scrubs in his first year in Sac Town. Eustachy would love the Trojan ladies.
