4-6 Months of Inaction for Patty Mills

The Aussie PG will have his work cut out for him this season if he’s to have any hopes of making an NBA roster: “Pritchard said doctors inserted a screw to repair the foot and Mills is expected to miss four to six months. That eliminates any chance at a training camp invitation for Mills, but Pritchard refused to address his future with the team. The Blazers selected Mills with their last pick of last month’s draft, No.55 overall. ‘Feel really bad for the kid,’ Pritchard said. ‘He’s a great kid and a high-energy guy who came in looking to really make an impression on us. It was just an unfortunate accident.’”

Unlucky he’ll land on an NBA roster or in Europe and prove everyone who passed on him wrong

    He’ll be back.
If he doesn’t get an NBA contract, he’ll be a certainty somewhere in Europe. Panathinaikos maybe….

I sort of agree with Tarzan. No expert was ever high on this kid but he had such an underground following, don’t know why.

Damn Patty. Get well mate, come back stronger.

Patrick Mills will be a very good player in the nba, maybe not a superstar. He was well overlooked in the NBA probably because of the amount of Point guards in the draft. I still think that he should had stayed in college for another year. If he did, next season.. he would be a top 20 or even 15 pick. He has the speed, passing skill and i.q to make it. i hope portland actually adds him into their roster next season.. because i am aussie and a portland fan. good luck patty.

Interesting comments from Tarzan and Jukai. Were you watching the 2008 Olympics? I’ve watched this kid grow up from a youngster until he left the AIS and he’s an amazing athlete. To compete with the likes of Chris Paul, Jason Kidd is no easy job. Chris Paul admitted he was faster than he was. Kobe Bryant didn’t want to defend him because he was ‘too fast’. Not too sure why there was no hype around him, given he made the same if not better impression than Ricky Rubio in the Olympics. He is also small for the NBA, he broke his hand earlier this year and the draft was extremely deep with point guards. Think you guys will be eating your words in the future. Get well Pat, we’ll seya back soon.

This kid was the Australian national teams’ best player through the course of the last Olympics. He shot the ball well, showed great leadership, was generally the quickest PG on the court at any given time – It will be a shame to think that he has lost all that momentum with this injury.
I would have prefered to see him stay at college. But know one thought this was coming…
    Get better PATTY!!

Tarzan – What makes you think he’s a scrub?? Is all you do is read?? have you not seen footage? Dude was a freshman in collage last year in the olympics and was very competitive with all the teams played including the US as im sure you’ve read… Please elaborate your statement

Dacre: being the Australian national teams best player doesn’t say much…

The reason he wasn’t drafted higher is because he wasn’t gonna sell jerseys, its all about marketing mate. Tarzan go watch the NIT game with St Mary’s vs Davidson, Mills got Curry on that game mate. As far as the injury is concerned thats just bad luck, but the kid is only 20 years old, he’ll be back!!

Tarzan and Jukai – Did you watch the olympics? Did you notice what people like Coach K and CP3 said about him? Or did you simply hide under a rock for a month when they were on?

I’d rather be the best Australian player than the worst…. Canadian…? O_o

Nah actually I would rather be Canadian.

Patty mills took jkidd, paul, Dwill and howard. The kid went full force at nba centers with no hesitation.

i knew patty should have finished his time with saint marys befor entering the draft or at least entered the draft with out an agent so he could have finished college, especially after the injury with his hand at the end of the season. LUCK BRO
