Blazers Enter the Lamar Odom Sweepstakes

With negotiations between Lamar and the Lakers stalling, Portland is reportedly showing interest in the versatile forward: “Despite reports that the Trail Blazers were preparing to make a major bid for Knicks restricted free agent David Lee, a coaching source familiar with the situation said Portland is more interested in the Lakers’ Lamar Odom. And the source described the Odom situation with Portland as ‘lukewarm.’”

    Odom, Oden, were gonna have some tongue-tied announcers. Great pick-up. Yeah Nate, there was a scuffle between Odom and the blazers last season, but if he helps us get outta the 1st round, our fans will be forgiving. Kobe on the other hand, would be like Jordan going to Detroit.

    yeah i remember like a few, but if odem can keep a level head, and not do anything stupid, and come off the bench behind batum, then ill like this pickup.
    also i heard we might do a sign and trade with the knicks. steve blake and travis outlaw for david lee.
    so if we have lee behind lamarcus, and odem behind batum both playing around 25-30 minutes off the bench, then we would have a strong bench, and a lot of depth.
    with bayless behind hinrich (if we pick him up)
    and rudy behind roy (also webster)
    Odem behind (batum)
    lee behind aldridge
    and oden or pryz either or starting, probably oden.

    WHY?
    Someone explain WHY the Blazers want Odom? He doesn’t fulfill a need for them. Lee makes infinitely more sense. You don’t just ‘get’ players for the sake of getting them. At least with Artest the Lakers GET something. Portland… not so much.

    i honestly think batum is a great sf. he reminds me of exactly of tayshaun.
    if somehow we could get tayshaun and have a one two punch with prince and batum that would be a great sf rotation.
    and batum is young.
    so he can grow.
    .
    i see how odom would help. but it isnt that big of a help.
    they are a 50 win plus team.
    i think we just need a better point with kirk or miller, and a good defensive sf.
    shane battier, or tayshaun would be great.

    a whiteman, you are not being professional about this. LA needs Odom for the Lakers to be as tough as they were.
    Artest will blow up any day during a scuffle and get suspended. At least Odom can stay calm.
