Blazers Want Hedo Turkoglu

Get in line, gents: “The Trail Blazers’ summer agenda was revealed late Tuesday night at the minute the free agent market opened. That’s when general manager Kevin Pritchard and assistant general manager Tom Penn called agent Lon Babby to begin the courtship of small forward Hedo Turkoglu. `Kevin Pritchard and Tom Penn called me at the earliest possible moment and expressed enthusiasm for engaging in discussions about Hedo becoming a Trail Blazer,` Babby said late Tuesday night. `We have begun that process.`”

That would be a bad move. Can’t they get an outside shooter for cheaper?

  • Jukai Posted: Jul.1 at 10:38 am
Cavaliers should grab Hedo and Charlie V.

  • Roy Posted: Jul.1 at 10:40 am
    I agree @ Jukai

  • Rasheedionics Posted: Jul.1 at 11:03 am
How the hell Cavs can afford to get both Hedo and Charlie when they already on hook with Shaq’s 20 plus millions for this year… Cavs may get another FA for mid level exception and thats it.

  • TADOne Posted: Jul.1 at 11:38 am
Cavs don’t have that type of money.

  • Declan Posted: Jul.1 at 11:43 am
Arn’t there enough wings already? If this goes down it will be terrible.

  • logan Posted: Jul.1 at 11:58 am
wow, i guess the cavs should just get every free agent there is

  • Statik Posted: Jul.1 at 12:45 pm
Do it Cavs, move Sexyback and a couple other deadweights to relieve some of the cap space, take Charlie V and Hedo who are capable of solving their versatility problems and provide relief for Bron in the long run cause they can spread the floor and defend a lil bit.

  • Jukai Posted: Jul.1 at 1:20 pm
TADOne: If Ferry was smart, he’d sign ‘em both and pay a buttload of luxery taxes for a year, Shaq’s 20 million comes off the books next year anyway. They gotta do what they gotta do to get Lebron to stay. Getting Hedo and Charlie V would pretty much solve all of the Cavs problems.

  • Chendaddy Posted: Jul.1 at 1:32 pm
Uh, you can only sign your own players to new contracts that put you over the salary cap, and the Cavs are already way over the cap. They could try a sign-and-trade for Turkoglu (Charlie V is just a bad idea), but why would Orlando do that and help Cleveland? All Cleveland can use is the mid-level exception, and Turk ain’t accepting that.
He would look pretty good filling that 3 spot on the Blazers, though.

i dont agree with chendaddy. he doesnt look good at the blazers 3. thats a horrible move. the blazers need to sing a free agent pg. like andre miller, mike bibby, kirk hinrich.
if anything they should trade steve blake, and webster, maybe outlaw, maybe Bayless and pickup tayshaun An all around player and leader. a non ball hogging SF. Hedo needs the ball to much. we all saw how pissed dwight was, he wanted the ball.
im sure Roy, and Lamarcus, and Oden want the ball.
so they need non ball hogs.
    like Miller, and Tayshaun.
I also say the ship Joel for tyson, and nice backup to Oden.

  • nate the great Posted: Jul.1 at 2:24 pm
    sign*

  • CDef28 Posted: Jul.1 at 3:27 pm
Thank you nate. It would piss BRoy off the most, since Hedo dominates the ball even more than him (and he’s not as good).

  • seven deuce Posted: Jul.1 at 3:39 pm
I really fail to see how Hedo improves the Blazers significantly in regards to title hopes or even player development. What happens to Travis Outlaw or Batum? I smell a sign and trade…

  • Josh D Posted: Jul.1 at 4:26 pm
Hedo would be the oldest guy on the team by about 7 years

  • Z Posted: Jul.1 at 4:27 pm
The Blazers already have a playmaker in B. Roy… Hedo needs the ball in his hands running screen n rolls to be at his apex. I dunno, it just doesn’t seem like a good fit to me.

  • D12FSU Posted: Jul.1 at 4:38 pm
why would hedo go to the cavs???? hes most effective when hes in control of the offense most of the time..just like…LEBRON JAMES!! WOOOAH!! if he went to cleveland hed be reduced to a spot up shooter like he was in sacto…i would really really really like him back in o-town…but if he goes to portland, ill support ‘em

  • rav Posted: Jul.1 at 5:36 pm
rudy fernandez isnt very happy about this according to ESPN - i wonder how long it will take some people on here to comment on another spainard’s (and former joventut player) unhappiness

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Jul.1 at 5:49 pm
Hedo’s going to Toronto. Bet on it.

  • CDef28 Posted: Jul.1 at 8:08 pm
Rav we don’t care about Rubio. He hasn’t even played an NBA game, and he’s sure as hell not looked upon as good as most guys that came into the league at 18.

  • NBA China Posted: Jul.1 at 10:50 pm
Hedo and Greg Oden pick and roll..that alone is worth 50 million.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jul.1 at 11:42 pm
    Co-sign CDef28.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jul.1 at 11:43 pm
Can the Blazers afford Turkoglu, what with the Grizzlies signing Darius Miles?

  • al Posted: Jul.2 at 7:37 am
This will be done, and Roy will play PG the whole season. Rudy at 2 and Hedo at 3. They all can pass, shoot and drive. Good move.
They will trade Outlaw, Blake, will keep bayless and batum and still need probably a veteran PG not very expensive.

  • rav Posted: Jul.2 at 7:38 am
cdef, you totally misunderstood my point - i was referring to fernandez there, but whatever…
