Chasing Grant Hill

It’s a three-horse race at this point: “Grant Hill will receive the Jason Kidd treatment from the Knicks Monday, which includes, among other things, a tour of Madison Square Garden and a home jersey. The one thing Hill won’t be getting is a three-year contract offer worth $18 million like Kidd received. The Knicks are hoping to sign Hill, the veteran free agent forward, to the bi-annual exception – which is worth approximately $2 million per season. It’s a reasonable offer, but with the Hill being pursued by Boston and with Phoenix looking to re-sign him, the Knicks may be fighting an uphill battle.”

Why aren’t the Cavaliers after this guy?

  • http://slamonline.com/ niQ

Celtics, where old Allstars unite for a shot at the ring.

he should stay in PHX, only place he has stayed healthy, if I was him id stick with their training staff.

  • Trevor

Last night I heard he is to sign with the Celts by the end of the week.

Jukai: Grant Hill, really? I know he gets along great with Shaq but… this is 2009. Maybe to play 5-8 mins a game behind Bron. He can’t guard 2s at this point and there’s a pretty good 3 in Cleveland. Anthony Parker is a much better fit. And he’s a shooter. Cavs don’t need to swing for the fences. Just some key role players. AP and Dyess or Frye and it’s a wrap for the summer.

Z: Exactly! Play 5-8 minutes behind Lebron!!! Who else are the Cavs going to get with their midlevel exception?!?!
If they get him healthy for the playoffs, MAYBE they can even put him at the three and put Lebron at the four and prevent that awful fiasco that happened at Orlando from happening again!
I’d probably pick 2008 Grant Hill over 2008 Anthony Parker. I know the years are going to start to get more and more crippling on Grant, but he had some insane games at Phoenix, if the dude comes off in limited minutes, this cat is effective.

    GO TO THE CELTICS!!

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Grant Hill to the Knicks? Not bad. But Why does Donnie keep trying to bring in all these Forwards? We need guards, Donnie, GUARDS.

Hill is a good pick up for a team thats already a contender. I would hate to see him go to a bad team that gets good just in time for him to retire. Mid 90s Grant Hill was sick.

  • T Money

I would pay a lot of money to sit in a locker room with the Celtics + Starbury, Sheed and Grant Hill

  • clos1881

why would he sign with phx or the knicks? neither team will see the playoffs, he only has maybe two years left in the league. Go chase the ring in boston orl or maybe denver.

We’ll see how Shaq and Hill both perform without the natural spring cactus juice from Phoenix.

  • Kevin Wilson

I’m not sure Hill makes a team a championship threat. He’s never seen the second round and he’s a career 4-18 in the playoffs.

  • bk10

    to kevin wilson
he may never been out da 1st round but thats cuz he played on some bad teams, he’s still an above average NBA player who can be a good contribution to a championship contender… look at his last yeat he was playing very well because he was healthy, if he stayed healthy his whole career he easily would’ve been top ten all time player

love this idea celtics are building a strong bench again

  • http://yahoomail.com EB

yo it’s a good idea for the celtics to fire up the bench again.I dnt care what anyone says the celtics have alway’s been a dynasty and will always be a dynasty(unless something happens to the big three).Bill Russell established this dynasty, gave it to Larry bird and now even bettr it belongs to the big three. long live GREEN DAY
