Coach K Returns to Team USA

Team USA will once again be coached by the man who helped it regain the Gold Medal: “Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will be back for another tour coaching USA Basketball’s national team. The announcement is expected to be made in a press conference Las Vegas prior to a USA Basketball mini-camp featuring young prospects for the national team on July 22-25. The sources said Krzyzewski is committed to coaching the 2010 World Championships in Turkey and the 2012 London Olympics…His same coaching staff, which included the likes of Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni, Blazers coach Nate McMillan and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, is expected to return.”

Why don’t he just get a NBA Coach job? It seems enough players like him enough. (or did he already try it out and didn’t like it?)

Duke will continue to suck as long as his attention is on coaching the Olympics.

@niQ: I think he just loves the college atmosphere so much. the only reason he coaches olympics is because the players aren’t getting paid to play, just like college, where he has a chance to mold their basketball minds (although by the time they get to the olympics that is unneccessary).

Yup, Gilbert Arenas is going to drop 50 on Coach K. Remember when Team USA cut him? Yeah…
