Eulogizing the Yao-McGrady Partnership

This is just depressing: “The combination was supposed to deliver a championship to Houston. It hasn’t. It won’t. The Rockets asked for and received a disabled player exception — the NBA’s version of short-term disability from the salary cap — allowing the team to sign Trevor Ariza, which it did on Wednesday, because Yao is not expected to be able to play next season due to a broken bone in his left foot. McGrady, recovering from microfracture surgery on his left knee, has one year left on his contract. The Rockets are listening to trade offers and quite likely will move McGrady by next season’s trade deadline, which is probably about the time he will be ready to return to action.”

I’ll be very close to tears if Steve Kerr starts up some trade discussions, somehow thinking that he could benefit the Suns organisation….
….I’m basically waiting to see where Steve Nash is going to go. He’ll want a trade, as does Stoudemire….

The Grizz should offer him $5 mil.

  • T Money

@Dacre: Steve Kerr has killed the Suns. Nuff sed.

Eh,Houston should’ve just kept Steve Francis and left Tracy in Orlando and everybody would’ve been better off

No, Robert Sarver killed the Suns when he took over a championship contender that the Colangelos built and implemented his “I want the fans to keep paying to watch my team, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money doing it” policy. Then he kissed the Luol Deng, Rajon Rondo, Nate Robinson, Sergio Rodriguez, and Rudy Fernandez draft picks away for CASH. Steve Kerr doesn’t know what he’s doing, but Sarver flat out has ruined this team. He is the Donald Sterling of the desert.

    It’s all T-Mac’s fault.

Oh yeah, and uh, Yao and McGrady. Too bad. Yao will come back and be a great role player on a championship contender someday, and T-Mac will have fun polishing his two scoring titles in his house in Orlando.

there’s a rumor flying around of a 3 way deal…houston would get amare and jrich for landry, tmac and shane…suns gets rudy, tmac, and landry…portland gets shane…

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ RV

or we may end up just getting Przybilla from Portland somehow..

  • thegfunk

    The rockets need a center!

  • http://double-technical.blogspot.com Zee!

    RV that trade stinks.

  • bangga

rv that deal makes perfect sense, hou gets amare and j rich and as soon as yao comes back they will be contenders, suns get tmac last year contract and two young pieces, and por get a tough sf, if por completes that chi deal and get kirk everyone wins

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    Yao will come back.

Mady try and get Amare from Phonix. You could trade Landry Battier and Brooks. Or forget Brooks and put in Lowry and a first round draft pick.

Ariza’s got it all backwards. First he wins a ring, then tries to become “the man” on a team? Fail.
