Kidd Done With Team USA?

According to this reporter’s Twitter feed (it’s all the rage these days, kids), Jason won’t be suiting up for his country anymore: “Jason Kidd told me he’s not planning on playing for Team USA next summer.”

Wow! Not…I’m not sure he would’ve MADE the team; what with CP3 Dwill and Drose coming on strong.

thanks for the undefeated record, JKIDD

  • Ken

It’s a good time to walk away for him. Undefeated in international play makes for another good bullet point on his HOF resume. Thanks for all the good balling you did for the US, Jason.

Haha, like it was HIS choice…

  • Prison Mike

F-word. He was the passer ever, especially on the break. Thankfully we have youtube though.

There is actually no point of Sports sections in Newspapers anymore, since everyone can obtain information directly through ‘Twitter’ these days. You might as well open a new section in the news called ‘According to Twitter…’

I respect him for saying that but it’s like the fat kid saying “hey guys just letting you know I will *not* be eating salad for lunch today.” It’s time for D-Will to show people why he was drafted before Paul.

or a fat kid saying, “hey guys, i beat anorexia!”

  • riggs

@niQ theres actually a spot on some newspapers with headings like that one.

won’t hurt USA much. CP3 is better he has more energy and has everything Jason Kidd has, except for the years of expierence. Thanks Jason for the previous years and good luck with Dallas.

  • tavoris

dang…ya’ll acting like J-Kidd’s international success was merely a coincidence. Or that CP3 DIDN’T get pushed around (just a little) last summer. D Will is a better-equipped PG for international play.

Trust that is Kidd WANTED to play (and beleive that Coangelo asked him), a spot would be waiting for him

Conan’s Twitter Tracker is the only one worth a look. They go all out with the exploding blue bird and everything. Mocking the importance of knowing boring celeb updates all along the way.

  • larrylegend

now he is gone you all cry…man, sad world.

  • vmcb

    don’t forget vmcb’s updates, bilinguo!

Kidd did his thing and has taught these kids a thing or two about Int. ball so he can walk away on his terms. He could still run the show next Summer but they needed a long term commitment and Kidd knew he wouldn’t be at the top in 3 or 4 years (He wouldn’t have to be). He could still grab the ball and push it and throw pinpoint passes 3 years from now.IMO Team USA should bring him in to help coach the gaurds though.

  • Jacob

good! replace him with Deron Williams

  • Josh D

Just as well he wasn’t much other than a good luck charm in Beijing

  • Rusty

he wouldnt of made it much longer anyway.

  • ianG

JKidd makes winning look easy. Stellar international career.

shouldn’t it be the other way around in the title of this post? Hmm, let me see…. Who could be the PG for team USA in the near future? CP3, Deron, Rondo, Rose… And on it goes. Yeah, Asontops is on Colangelo’s to-do-list. (notice how mad i am at the Mavs off-season pics? No? Don’t worry, it’ll show as the season progresses. Grrmpfl..!)

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

He *will* be 37 next summer. But what a run he’s had… that Kidd-Payton PG combination in the 2000 games was truly great.

  • jay

Okay they need to get rid of Kidd, Redd, Boozer and Prince….that should open up 4 spots

  • JUFU

thanks for the record captain kidd. hope you get a chip in dallas.
