Marbury, Finished in Boston?

Perhaps, he could play on Rubio’s team next season: “Celtics free agent guard Stephon Marbury said to The Globe early Friday morning that he doesn’t expect to be returning to Boston after receiving a disappointing one-year contract paying $1.3 million using the veteran’s minimum.”

plenty of teams can use him. Orlando has no bench at all, and what about Houston?

And so ends the second KG & Steph era. has there even been one oop thrown between those two this year?

@Gerard – PG is about the ONLY thing Houston is set at with Brooks and Lowry. Orlando won’t offer him anything, they’re over the cap.
    @Hisham – nope.
I’m curious, was this season the first that Steph has ever had where HE has gotten out of the first round?

I think most people were under the impression Marbury wasn’t gonna be around that long – just long enough for a Finals push and then he’d be on his way elsewhere. Too bad KG was hurt otherwise the Celtics might have got there.

mhn, he once said, he will do everything, to help boston and win a championship (for him). he made $130,275,320 from 1996-2008…sorry, the only disappointing thing is you, steph.

Miami could use him. Sacremento needs a pg. There are a lot of teams.

“he doesn’t expect to be returning to Boston after receiving a disappointing one-year contract paying $1.3 million using the veteran’s minimum.”

was he expected a 6 yr max deal???

  • Vegas

I hate the guy but he still has some talent left.

  • Roberto

Give me 1.3 mil for a year and I’ll happily come of the bench, or hell even just stay on there.

  • T Money

Its about time. I was beginning to wonder where the real Steph was.

@Hursty: my bad, didn’t think too long before typing that post. You’re right about Houston, that wouldn’t make sense at all.

  • Statik

Can’t see why he should be completely upset, he did make mad cash while not playing, now he makes the minimum while getting to play meaningful time on a championship caliber squad…I’d say it evens out; but then again this is Starbury

“All I want to do is win an NBA championship. That’s all that matt—how much? Seriously? F**k y’all, I’m going to Italy.”

  • seven deuce

    Tell him to call Atlanta.

  • niQ

    LOL Russ.

ok i’m about done with steph. what did he expect? the mle?! he didn’t exactly prove himself in the playoffs.

  • underdog

Disappointed!? What did he except? Veteran minimum is all he deserves, not more. Hell with Steph. Boston gave him a chance, and next year with Garnett they hopefully be a complete team again. Steph is a fool if he leaves the C.

  • Josh D

No GM ever’d go for Starbury whilst they already hve Rubio, unless its David Kahn

  • tavoris

funny fact: the 2nd KG-Steph era went on with them NEVER being on the court at the same time

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Haven’t read Bengtson in here in a while, but i do share his sentiment. “Star”bury made 130 Million in 12 years? and is grouching over 1.3? Yeah, role model that. Eff that dude…times infinity!

  • Teddy-the-Bear

See, I have a Steph jersey that I bought a long time ago… He left the Knicks, so now I conveniently pretend like its a John Starks jersey. I try to hide the back by wearing a coat or a long-sleeve button-up shirt over it. This works, because John Starks is one of my favorite players of all time. And Steph, well, he’s getting really annoying.
I have no clue why I just told you all that.

  • #6marjon

@Teddy-the-Bear that’s genius and nice of you to open up but never expect us to look at you the same again

    awww, Teddyyyyyy.

  • juicemane

Really does show what means most to marbury. As a fan of his its rather sad, you would think after you make over 100 million your main focus would be a championship, but this guy is so selfish, im really not feeling dude no mo.

  • chintao

Teddy, you show consistent signs of being semi-functionally retarded. Starks is one of your favorite players of all-time, but you don’t have a Starks jersey? Weak, dude. Anyway, Marbury didn’t prove himself with the scant minutes he had. Still, I could see him expecting and deserving something more than the minimum. Whatever, he’s still one of my favorite players. I hope he is able to sign quickly, get to camp early, and have a great year.

  • Ken

That’s almost as bootleg as having a Ron Mercer Boston jersey, and fronting like it’s KG or Walton.

  • clos1881

yall clowns on this site kill me with your field of dreams attitudes! What difference does it make how much money he has made over his career its the NBA everybody has made money.
