    Marcin Gortat: Unhappy to Return

I’m sure his Orlando Magic teammates and coaches will love hearing this: “Gortat has said all along that no matter what happened this off-season — whether he went to Dallas or returned to Orlando — that he would be a ‘happy man.’ Still, he did have his heart set on going to the Mavericks because the Mavericks were going to give him the chance to start at center. So, it’s no surprise that his agent, Guy Zucker, told the Orlando Sentinel that Gortat is ‘very disappointed’ that the Magic have matched the offer sheet.”

      Understandable.

Yeah, dude has starter potential but will never be a start with Dwight ‘Cracker Barrel’ Howard owning the paint.

      POLISH HAMMER SMASH!

I think it’s a little funny that they matched the offer. It’s mildly funny that Marcin has more offensive versatility than Dwight Howard. It’s hilarious that it’s so irrelevant.

Life is funny like that, Justin.

      Juk’, you’re totally right.

Needless to say, Nowitzki’s name is from Poland.

Damn. He was basically guaranteed 30 mins a game on a contender in the D. After his lack of playing time in the Finals, he can’t be happy about going back. And now they added Bass so there won’t be any minutes at the 4 either. Damn.

if he’d gone to dallas, he definitely should have started instead of erick.

What’s he so upset about? If he has extra time on his hands from a lack of PT, he can always work at Universal Studios Orlando as an Eastern Euro villian for the Terminator ride? It’s a win-win for the Polish Jordan.

life’s a biatch and then you die. Think Mavs wouldn’t have loved having him instead of Erick the Damp cloth?

    • Z Posted: Jul.14 at 12:35 pm
lol he does look like the prototype eastern euro villain. russian mobster in london type of stuff lol.

He’s getting how much a year to play basketball? He can stop complaining. Magic put 5 years in him, they weren’t gonna let him go for free.

    • donovan Posted: Jul.14 at 1:11 pm
Why not start him at 4?

    • nicko Posted: Jul.14 at 1:25 pm
Why not start him at point?

    • nicko Posted: Jul.14 at 1:26 pm
      TRADE HIM FOR SHAQ!!

    • SK Posted: Jul.14 at 2:04 pm
Why would his agent spread the word he’s very disappointed? Shouldn’t the agent, Guy Zucker, be managing Gortat’s expectations and suggesting to him that he not get all excited and tell all of his family/friends he’s going to Dallas until it’s official? This is still a guy with a company logo (even though it’s basketball it’s still a brand) tattooed on his leg, how great of an addition would he be anywhere for $34 million. Like other posts have said, “this is irrelevant”.

I have to admit, I was interested in watching him play starter’s minutes.

    • breeze Posted: Jul.14 at 3:46 pm
this is the problem with teams…and players… hes had one good playoff season and all of sudden he has options..in my eyes he is not a starter and i understand the disparity because there are virtually no centers in the A ….but damn this is what we result to jerome james 2009 ..please ..

That Knicks Jerome James contract… man, how bad was that!

Yeah, I did hope he’d go to Dallas. There is no doubt he could play more minutes there. Marcin is rather not able to play as PF, so there won’t be much time for him unless Dwight gets injured or VG gives him more time to rest.
