Paul Millsap’s Decision

Paul must reportedly choose between his current employer, and the Blazers: “After a series of trades fell through this week, the Trail Blazers have settled on their next target: Utah power forward Paul Millsap. Although Millsap is a restricted free agent, meaning the Jazz can match any offer, the Blazers are preparing what one source called a ‘toxic’ offer designed to exterminate interest from other teams.”

The Blazers do realise that it’s going to be impossible to retain all their youthful(?) players 3-4 years down the road right?

  • Exile

DOesn’t seem like a good play…. They sound more desperate to move than improve.

wouldn’t millsap be on the bench again? behind aldridge?

Man, if Kwame Brown said he wanted a trade the Blazers would say they wnated him. The blazers are the sl()ts of basketball!!

I like Millsap’s game but I foresee him getting vastly overpaid.

I would prefer Paul in OKC more than Blazers..

I’m with niQ on this one.

Maybe he would be able to toughen up Oden a lil’ bit.

If I was LaMarcus Aldridge, i’d be offended by now.

I think you are forgetting that The trailblazers have an qwner with a net worth of 16 billion.

Are the Blazers choosing signing Paul Millsap over the possibility of re-signing Lamarcus Aldridge?

  • Rolle

Blazers won’t over pay him. Paul deserves that. 14 point-9 rebound energy guy deserves that money.

The Blazers have the deepest pockets in the NBA and can resign there own players to max deals and be over the cap it aint no thang. Plus Ya’ll must not know Kevin Pritchard yet. We in the know around p-town call this a PRITCH SLAP. He is making so the Jaz will have to trade Boozer and keep Milsap and make it a 3 team trade centered around Blazers. People you need to check ur self before commenting or else make ur self look ignorant. Again Portland can resign there own players to max deals ever if over the cap. And as Paul Allen has shown his is willing to pay the tax hit for his team to be good. Kevin has one directive from Paul make this team better at any cost to him….ANY

Aldridge’s job is safe. we need a back-up now that we decided to let Frye go. Frye seems to think he is a starter, and he is on some teams. We need someone to sign knowing they will be the 6th man. I wouldn’t throw too much $ at Paul, was really hoping for McDyess and the vet minimum contract. Well said NoLy.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    Paul deserves to start somewhere.

Like their silly pursuit of Hedo, this makes absolutely NO sense. Why not let all that young talent continue to jell? If anything, look for a pg upgrade.

“I pondered, who will site more – Oden or Boozer? After many nights of thinking, I have come to the conclusion that Boozer sucks more.”

its nice to see some blazer fans that kno their ish. nolyfe is correct, and same with blaze.
i think if we do sign milsap we will trade him for kirk.
unless this 3 team trade goes down.
i really want tayshaun tho. i read either we trade joel straigh acrossed for shane battier, or or we trade travis, blake and a 2nd round pick for tayshaun prince.
i would love tayshaun on this team.
    bayless/kirk
    roy/rudy/webster
    tayshaun/batum/webster
lamarcus/free agent pick up (wished it was mcdyess
    Greg/joel

i still think its a strategie that we pretend we want players, just so teams will throw more dolla dolla bills out.
because we have cap space we can pretend to want players.

  • Cmac

man i don’t care wat anyone says this guy deserves his money, i wish the pistons had moved in on him though. coulda used some toughness down low. but sr=til li wouldn’t mind him in portland

  • JumpinJoe

Ya’all are jealous of Portland. Ya’all are gonna get Pritch Slapped again! A decoy three way trade and a backdoor offer…nut up Salt Lake City Mormons (they aren’t the Jazz, the name should have stayed in New Orleans like The Sonics did in Seattle). Prichart makes ya’all look like wallflowers at a jr. high dance! Hedo will be at home in Toronto, with his controlling wife, watching Portland in the NBA Championships!

  • JumpinJoe

Milsap, Aldridge, Prizbilla, Roy, and Blake…three scorers, three boarders, 3 shot blockers, a beast to pound on other teams big men, a disher that can shoot, and one of the top clutch 2 guards in the game….that’s not even talking about the bench that has speed (Bayless), shooting (Rudy), and beef (the best power center off the bench in the NBA, Oden–they develop posts better than any other team). Then, there is the coach every one in the NBA would love to play for. Any questions? Plus, they are all young, driven, and fearless.

Bring it Chumps! Game on! Good luck in the Rose Garden where everyhting is coming up roses!
